Hey guys,
I'm male, 25.
just want to check in as i am another soldier who has fallen to this mystery condition.
it initially came on for me in Sept of last year and hasn't stopped since.
when it first came on it was constant till about December and now i seem to get it for a few days and then have a few days of relief where it seems completely normal only for it to return to how it was before.
Have had all urine tests etc, all clear, seen multiple GPs, a Urologist who told me "its likely i wont find the cause", another gp who told me "want me to refer you to a psych".
some light, i started searching for alternative solutions and saw a Chiropractor who believed it could be nerve damage as funnily enough something that seems to make it worse for me is sport/weight lifting. he gave me a range of daily stretches for my quads, hamstrings and hip flexors to take pressure off of the L5 vertibrae which is where the nerves stemming to your groin lead from.
This didnt cure me, however the duration and frequency of the symptoms are certainly better than they were. so give this a try and it may give you some relief.
I'm going to try and see a chinese doctor or something other than western medicine for hopefully more answers.
i believe we will find the cause and the cure for this, keep your chins up boys.
please let me know if you find anything that brings relief!!

Hey mate, that sounds like me. Some days Im totally fine and then the next 2 days or so itll be kind of bad, just sort of learning to live with it now personally.
Chiropractor sounds interesting, did they ever consider OAB? Thats what my GP is leaning towards.

Only since the beginning of December. The first couple of weeks were definitely the worst for me. I think Pelvic Floor stretches, exercising and drinking lots of water have helped me the most

Honestly mate i think your biggest priority right now should be your mental health. Youre probably fixating on this too much and its making things so much worse for you. Although I dont know you, from how you reply on here I think you need to try and get some counselling or CBT therapy until this ends up clearing up - at least that way you wont have to suffer like you are currently suffering. This will end up clearing up eventually but you have to put your mental health first bro, please try and seek some help

people keep telling me i will get better but its scary to me idk if i ever will or not im so scared bro but yes u are right mental health well my dad keeps trying to calm me down saying they will try there best they will help me get over it and we will eventually find whats going on and the doctors will heal me which i have a side that believes i will get better to but i also have a side where it says what if they cant find whats happening to me what if im gonna stay like this forever or its insanely scary bro especially feeling ur tip of penis 24/7 i cant stabd this any longer

Realistically bro I dont think you have to worry about it lasting forever. The frustration is not knowing the full underlying reason & therefore not knowing the proper treatment/cure. Whilst we wait to be properly diagnosed and treated, its worth baring in mind that this is probably more common than we think, considering people are still posting on a random forum set up years ago. Yet, if people hadnt been resolved of these issues or at least have found an answer, then wouldnt they still be replying on here? I worry more for your mental health than I do your urinary condition to be honest, I think you need to see someone and hell it might even be the link behind all of this, creating a vicious cycle.

Hi Everyone
35 year old male here- been having these symptoms for a year now and as many of you mentioned, it sucks.
I've had a bunch of tests done all negative as well but I constantly feel like I need to pee. I've tried western medicine, chinese medicine, all not very effective. I've noticed that when I am on vacation or in a more stress free environment it's a lot better also when I'm busy running around doing chores around the house or deeply involved in doing something it seems to get a bit better as well so I definitely think at least a part of it is psychological. I don't have any pain but the constant need to pee is very annoying. I'm hoping that we can find a solution together. I just read through this entire thread and going to try a few things. I wanted to compile a list here for everyone who's new so we can try and share our results.
anything else I should add?
good luck everyone, at least we know we're not alone

Hey everyone,
I think ive made some progress. Its now come to a point where i maybe experience these symptoms once a week but theyre totally manageable and I just get on with it.
For me all my tests came back negative, I still havent been given a diagnosis and Ive been referred to a urologist but havent yet had the appointment.
People say that it can go for a while and come back later so i dont think im entirely out of the woods yet. However, as soon as I went back to the gym (I gave it up when this first happened as I felt too uncomfortable) my symptoms essentially disappeared or became a lot less prominent. Maybe its a coincidence but I felt it really helped.
I drank lots of water, like 3Litres worth a day, I also think this helped.
I also believe its got something to do with when i poo. I do feel the symptoms come back temporarily after each session? May be something to explore.
Either way, dont give up, keep posting updates to help others and try not to let it keep you from living a normal life. People do end up getting better from this!!

Hey, thanks for the update.
I'm having a very similar issue to yours and it came on in December 2023 as well.
Initially, I had a UTI where I didn't finish the antibiotic course (very bad decision) once I started feeling better so it came back, got a different antibiotic, finished that, but ended up getting this wetness feeling in the head of the penis. All of the urine tests are coming back negative to any sort of bacteria, they even did extended spectrum urine culture, all negative.
For me, it comes on in waves - I can have 3-4 days of absolutely no symptoms followed by 1-2 days full of this feeling and urinary urgency (even though I do not really have to pee).
When I am working / more distracted, it is more manageable, but for example, when I am driving (so basically sitting not moving etc) it comes on much more.
As you write, exercise seems to make a difference, even a walk, to be honest. For me, sex does not seem to influence this and actually, when I get hard, the feeling goes away complately. However, strangely what I found lately is consuming wine (especially red wine) in smaller quantities even (1-2 glass) makes this issue come back stronger the next 1-2 days. Beer (1-2 cans) does not seem to matter this way.
I am in a country where healthcare is luckily quite good (and free) and I am going to a urulogist who is very interested in understanding what is behind this, but she is more of a "one step at a time" type of person so instead of throwing ideas of what it could be she is collecting data right now. So far, every week, we have done urine tests and culture, all came back negative after basically new years, when I finished the 2nd antibiotics cure and next wednesday I am going for cystoscopy, together with a swab test for the urethra. If nothing is found there, then MRI and other test for nerve stimulation etc. It helps me, that there is a path towards checking multiple elements and I hope that I can help others by informing how things go in general.
I can also relate to symptoms coming on a bit after bowel movements, I have the same, but generally it is not that strong - and on the flip side, I am absolutely symptom free until my first urination of the day, which is strange.
As for medicine, my urologist prescribed me a pill called SPASMED, this pill has 15 mg trospium chloride and it is an antispasmodic (medicine for relaxing the muscles of the internal organs). This is a prescription only drug (at least where I live) and seems to help a fair bit, but it is just to control symptoms (when I have a bad day, I take a pill and in a few hours I am mostly symptom free). I am not recommending it or anything, I am not a doctor, simply stating what works for me specifically. It could be worth discussing this medicine (or a similar one) with your doctor to see if they think it could work for you, if needed.
I have registered here because of your last sentences - to keep posting updates as there is certainly a strong mental element in this, as is, it can really mess with your head / confidence / mood and perhaps when we are getting better, that can be the light at the end of the tunnel for others.

New here, and having these same issues.
I have been and had a Urine test, Blood Test and all checked out for Diabetes, liver function, kidney functions etc, apparently all normal. - Also no chance of a STD/STI and also no infection present in urine tests etc.
I have found my only break in this is either hot water on and around the area such as a long shower or when getting down..
I am awaiting a physical meeting with a Dr next week, but this topic really is exactly what I'm suffering with, I'm not sure if I have passed a kidney stone or who knows, but I am having the exact same feeling that I need to pee coming from the top half of my... stuff.
Here's hoping we / I / you all get an answer soon.
