Constant head pressure in the temples and eyes

I have had pain and pressure in my eyes and temples for almost a year now. My face feels fuzzy and tingly and I feel woozy a lot of the time. Nothing takes the pain away when it is really bad. Tried Tylenol 3's and oxycocet with no relief. The only thing that helped with the intensity of the pain was Inderal (Proponolol) which is a migraine prophylactic or a high blood pressure medication. It relaxes the blood vessels. Even on the medication I had times when I still felt woozy and my face felt fuzzy and tingly. I went off the Inderal for a while as it also impacted my Gastroparesis and I am trying Flunarizine another migraine medication but not having much luck. I still have the constant pain and pressure in my temples and eyes on both sides. MRI on the neck and head were both normal. Really frustrated as I feel awful pretty much every day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

    Hi Lynn,

I know this post is old, and I hope all is well. Did you ever resolve the head pain and pressure? I’m on one year of constant pressure, have had more CT’s and mris then I can mention. They’ve found nothing. Looking for some advice, thank u

Hello Lynn, this is Feliks, I'm sorry to hear you are suffering with pressure type pain. I have had pressure on my eyes for about 8 years before; that went away , and now I have had constant same type of pressure only in my head. I went through all the doctors and MRI's all normal. This pessure doesn't go away at all, but gets worse when I'm trying to read something. Lorazepam takes the edge of the constant pain. Recently I had visited a Neurological clinic in Moscow Russia where I was diagnosed with Vascular Dystonia, this is a problem with the autonomic nervous system. For some who have it have panic attacks, others feelings of pressure type pain and much more. After laser treatments I didn't feel better right away but a couple days ago the pain has gone from the usual overwhelming to not overwhelming. There are no doctors in America who use this type of method that this doctor uses. I have also looked for answers for very very long and for me this is it. If you or anyone else is interested to know where this clinic is I can give you their address and website (although website is in Russian) Please contact me on Facebook by looking up my name Feliks Tsekhanov

i have had this vertigo last year then a feeling of off balance 3 months after, then all that went away. started going to the gym until one day i started feeling as if i was getting pulled to one side for about two months. then that went away followed by this heaviness in my head as if im always about to pass out, going on 5 months now.. iv done mri, mra, two ct scans and they found blocked sinus and inflammation. neurologist ruled out nothing but ent doctor says i have chronic sinusitus . not to mention i have sleep apnea so on april 15 i will be going into surgery to remove my huge tonsuls and sinus surgery. ent says this would realy make a difference and relief the heaviness. i do have anxiety as well... this feeling realy sucks..but we will get through it one day at a time

I suffer from chronic depressive head fatigue since June 2002, and frankly, my head feels like a rotten apple! A strange, toxic, poisonous form of sore head tiredness that never leaves me 24/7! I can only work part time because of this ongoing "thorn in the flesh." Every medic I spoke to simply ignores me or changes the subject each time I mention my afflictions! HAVE THEY GOT SOMETHING TO HIDE? DO THEY KNOW WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON? I CAN'T STAND LIVING LIKE THIS ANYMORE!! IT'S THAT BAD , I AM DISABLED FROM COUNTING MY BLESSINGS!!

      Jake

wish i could help you. I am in the same boat as you. I live in Canada. i have been suffering from this pressure in my eyes and temples for about 7 years now. Like you, I have had so many tests: MRI's, CT Scans, SPinal taps, blood tests etc. Everything normal, but their isn't anything normal about my head which is the same as you. I too have seen many neurologists, including two headache specialists. The latest is trying different things. The only thing that helps the pressure is lying down. I too have no life. I have also tried CHiropractors, osteopaths, acupuncture and Chinese medicine and numerous types of medications (preventatives and abortives). No relief from any of them. I am also trying to withdraw from Gabapentin which i was given for the headaches. It is horrendous! So dealing with those withdrawal symptoms as well. I really don't know how much more of this i can take too. I have tried Botox 3 times, Aimovig and Emgality. Nothing helps. Even pain killers don't help. Wish i could tell you something that helps but i can't. I'd say misery loves company here but it DOESN'T! If you get any other responses that give some suggestion, please let me know.
