Constant nausea 24/7, gallbladder?

I have been feeling nauseous 24/7 for five months now. I have been to hospital, had blood tests, an endoscopy and they can’t find anything wrong. My doctor told me it’s anxiety and has put me on antidepressants but I’m not convinced as I don’t feel anxious. However, because I’ve been feeling so ill for so long, I have now got depression. I have read about people who get constant nausea from gallbladder problems and no pain? (I don’t have any pain) Could this be my problem? Also, my mum had her gallbladder out so maybe hereditary? Thanks

So, update. I went to the gastroenterologist today and explains everything. The anxiety/depression came AFTER the nausea and she was great. She didn’t even question whether it was anxiety, she believes it is physical and has said we will do a lot of testing to see what it is. First, I’m going to have to do a stool sample to see if it’s H. Pylori infection (tbh, the more I read up about this, the more I think I have it... has anyone got any experience of this?). Then in a few weeks I’m having an endoscopy (which I’m dreading). And if that all comes back okay, a gastric-emptying test to search for gastroparesis. I mentioned the gallbladder but she said there was no way of testing it’s function? And I don’t have gallstones because I’ve had an ultrasound. Seemed strange. Anyway, I also have some amount of private healthcare through work so I’m going to ask them if they’d do a HIDA scan. Fingers crossed. Although it sounds awful, I’m kind of hoping it’s this bacterial infection because it’s two weeks of antibiotics and cured! We’ll see....

To be honest if your only symptom is nausea then it may not be gallbladder.

Out of interest how long did you wait to see the Gastro?

      Thanks

Hmm, yeah, that is my only symptom. Really starting to think it could be h pylori now as symptoms of that include anxiety and depression!! I waited about 4/5 weeks to see a GI

Years?  I’m going on 11 weeks of nausea and cannot take it.  I have been to the dr four times.  Last thing was I had was CBC panel and nothing found.  I had thyroid panel ( have Hashimotos now), then allergy meds including nasal sprays, pregnancy test, tried Prilosec Incase it was acid reflux, urine test, CBC blood test and now Claritin.  I’ve taken pepto tablets and Dramamine, drank Ginger tea, have Ginger chews   for nausea but it doesn’t work.  No other symptoms.  I’ve looked for something to induce vomiting and no luck.  I’ve tried sticking my finger down my throat and nothing.

    Hi Rebel,

I have the same thing 24/7 nausea, no meds/ treatments help.  I had abdominal ultrasound sound, showed problems with liver (fatty liver), now I wanna go see a specialist for gallbladder as well.  It's so hard with this nausea especially how debilitating it is and when you don't know the cause and treatment.  I was also told its anxiety but I think its not true.  definitely something with GI issues.

I am scared to eat my lower right abdomen below my rib will sometimes feel bad and I am good sometimes and feel like completely sick the next day. everything I eat goes straight through me as well. I get chills all day even when it’s warm out side and I feel tired as well.

i am so glad i found this thread i have suffered from nausea for 6 years on and off more on than off. I had also been suffering with fatigue but my gp thinks i have cfs/me. Over the years i had had many blood tests which mostly came back normal. My esr was raised most of the time and I had very low B12. I get B12 injections every 12 weeks but have been told i dont have pernicious anemia. I eat fairly healthily and eat meat. Due to the nausea i have lost around 2 stones over this time. after many visits to my gp over the years he referred me to see a gastroenerologist. I waited over 6 months to see them. they chatted to me and decided thst they wanted to do an upper endoscopy which i had a couple of weeks ago. they tested for hpolryi which came back negative. they did other biopsys and i am still waiting for the results . i have erosive duodenitis & have been medication for that. he also said it might be gallstones and i am having an ultra sound for that. every now ans then i do get a sharp pain on my right hand side around my rib cage which i just sort of ignore. never really thought much about it till i read this thread. has this been how it started for other people? In one way i am not keen to have an operation but at the sametime if it was something that would make the nausea go away i would be so relieved ans happy. Along with the nausea i have a reduced appetite and where as in the past i LOVED chocolate i now have no interest in it at all. i almost avoid. (not a bad thing but very strange for me)

any thoughts, advice and opinions would be very much appreciated.

    Clara x

ps sorry this was so long!
