Ever since i was 7 years old, iv been feeling constantly sick, i will go a couple of years of feeling really sick 24/7 then a couple of years feeling fine. It just comes and goes over long periods of time. This time i have been feeling constantly sick, anxious, bloated, acid refluxes and stomach pains. I have to mention i have a fear of vomiting and all these feelings only makes my fear worse, i haven't put my life on hold from (even tho i sometimes feel like i want too). I also have trouble going to the toilet sometimes (number 2) i quite often get constipated. Im only 23 years old, male by the way and i cant go out drinking with friends, go out for meals or even holidays because i feel like throwing up all the time, its just a nightmare!! I don't even know what normal feels like anymore all i feel is SICK, NAUSEA AND DISCOMFORT, its so distressing and makes me angry sometimes. Does anyone have any answers or idea to what this might be? Or ever experienced this before? Would very much appreciated your views

Hi David. I was reading through this forum looking for a way to get rid of heartburn and I read your story on how you constantly feel sick. I have this same thing and it took my 11 years and multiple doctors and tests to find the answer. Its called Agoraphobia. Its a type of anxiety disorder. You would never believe the physical problems simple anxiety (you may not even be concios you have) will wreck on your life. Try getting a prescription for general constant anxiety. (Avoid anti depressants even if they help with anxiety symptoms) Buspar works really good for this with little to no side effects. The first 10 days it does nothing though.

I hope this helps you. I know how it feels to feel like crap every day. This should change your life.

You are so right about physical symptoms of anxiety! But remember not one drug is s silver bullet...there is always the trade-off. I have found much improvement with Linden tea. It assuages stomach and mental woe with no downside, except you'll have to take the initiative to give that a chance and when you realize how beneficial that is, you'll finally realize nature affords every answer for balance!

I am now 51 and ive had stomach issues my since i was 22 and ive had chronic nausea for the last 5yrs.

First if you have not had this done these are the test you need as soon as possible.

An upper GI, this can detect the presence of a hiatal hernia, which would be causing chronic reflux. 2. An EGD "scope" they visually inspect your esophagus an stomach for a variety of issues and they can take tissue from the esophagus for biopsy. For me i have had a hiatal hernia since 22 which causes moderate reflux, which was causing very painful reflux. After the nausea started i had a Gastric Emptying Study, which showed i had Gastroparesis, which was causing the chronic nausea.

Medicines like Prilosec, or Nexium, which are ment to be taken daily reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces and it might be a week before you know if it is going to help. There is also medicine for Nausea, which can treat the symptoms for now. Zofran is a great medicine for

Hey David, I am only 21 female I can understand that it's not the age to eat precautionary food. but i was also experiencing the same thing before 2 months. My Dr. Recommend me to go for blood test for h pylori and unfortunately it came positive. the same symptoms I was experiencing before 2 months. Right now I Now, I am struggling everyday to improve my health as I just want to get rid of this punishment as I feel everytime pain slightly above my belly button. Last month I ate helicure pack to treat H pylori which was found in my blood test with 48.96 IGM which was positive thought below 40 is negative. After taking medication I went to the doctor he said " you have to take another course to eradicate h pylori which was based on clarithomycin, amoxil, klaricid and fasigyn after taking 2nd course now I feel relief in symptoms like before I felt vomiting , the state of being so full after meal, insomnia, pain in shoulder plates. It has been relived but still i am feeling pain above my belly button. I again went for blood test this time again h pylori came positive with 44.96 blood test result. I asked dr to recommend me 1 more course to eradicate the h pylori. He said" now I can't give you further antibiotics because you already have taken two courses. Now, he has given me medicine for healing stomach wounds ITP, risek, gaviscon advance, and evion to treat ulcer caused by h pylori but my question is" will h pylori be always postive in my blood? I have found relief in symptoms but still having slight burining pain above my belly button. He has recommended me medicine for 3 weeks. It's my second week and I have found slight relieve in pain.

Hi David, I hope that you are still following this discussion although your post had been up for so long. I had similar symptoms as you and I had a major fear of vomiting. I have experienced such symptoms when I was around 14 or 15 years old, but after a recent case of food poisoning, I had symptoms of bloating, burning sensation in between the lower ends of my rib cage, nausea, acid refluxes and excessive belching for 3 months already. I could not focus on my work or go out like a normal person. Sometimes, I even get dizzy spells. I went to many doctors and gladly, they did not suspect that I had stomach cancer. However, these symptoms persisted throughout. I did feel well on some days but the symptoms will come and persist for days again. Did anyone manage to recover from such symptoms/illness?

So, I noticed this post and had to join this site. I am a soon to be 31 yr old female. I have been suffering with the same nausea, heartburn, sick to my stomach, bloating (or as we all call it, the food baby) since I was 17yrs old. I just hit me like a ton of bricks. I had an endoscopy in 2010 and the doc told me I had GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease) and he put me on 40mg of omeprazole. Well, now, I'm suffering all over again because this medicine doesn't work anymore. Went in for my 2nd EGD, this time for possible celiac disease. All tests came back normal but now I have started with a hiatal hernia. So, the are now making me take 80mg of omeprazole, 2 pills a day, 1 in the am and the second before dinner. My regular doctor wants to send me to a psychologist because she thinks with this hernia and GERD, my anxiety is over running the effects of the omeprazole. Now tonight, I lay in bed (finally off the bathroom floor)reading these posts thanking God I am not the only person suffering. I fight my stomach ever day, I too can't drink, go out to dinner (I can order in), go on dates, do anything that may cause my stomach to get angry [which is everything)....and worse, it's so hard to keep a job when you have to leave early or call out because I had a rough night or a rough morning. See, I too have a fear of throwing up.....I even save zofran but am too paranoid to take it (fear of meditations)....so, please know you're night alone. I'm with all of you!!! And I future right on in.

Hi David, sorry to hear all that. Here is a long shot but this worked for me. Do you ever get tonsillitis? Or regular sore throats? Since I was 6 I had chronic tonsillitis which also gave me all your symptoms and lots more. I had my tonsils taken out because of another reason and all my stomach and reflux problems went. We don't need our tonsils and they can be a cause of so many stomach problems. I had chronic compartment syndrome for 5 years and had 12 operations, one doctor found a link to chronic tonsillitis so I had them taken out and it solved the compartment syndrome and stomach problem. Many many years ago tonsils were taken out when we were young because of all the problems they cause, now for some reason they don't do it. It's a long shot but you never know. If you've already had them taken out disregard all that lol. Good luck and hope you get it all sorted.

Hello! I recently came across this thread and I have had the same symptoms for about 5 years, on and off. I have gone to multiple doctors, had tons of tests, even had my gallbladder removed, with no relief. I was wondering if any of you were still experiencing these problems, or if you were diagnosed and found some medicine that has been able to help.

At least we know we aren't in this alone...

i know this is an old post but i really think this can help me and vice versa. i'm 15 and for about a year and a half i've been having stomach problems. it all started with a gastro bug just the usual vomiting and ever since then i've never felt 100%. my symptoms include nausea, stomach pain mainly up the top near my chest(like someone is punching me in the stomach)

indigestion, like an egg stuck or blockage in my throat, feeling even more sick after eating, fatigue and i also have trouble sleeping because of feeling so sick and the pain is unbearable. i don't physically vomit but the nausea is bad enough. i've been to over 100 doctors and been to the hospital over 9 times and all have come back with the same answer 'we can't find anything'

it frustrates me knowing there is something inside of me causing this as this is not 'normal' and doctors have just claimed its all in my head and that i'm crazy or insane. the tests i have had done are bloods, x-rays, mri's, endoscopy, ultra sounds basically every test under the sun and still can find nothing. i must point out i also do have a terrible phobia of vomiting and always have my whole life and i suffer from anxiety and have attacks frequently. i also suffer from heart palpitations which i've had ever since a little girl. my heart beats too fast and doesn't supply enough blood to my brain causing me to suffer from vertigo. i also suffer from low blood pressure causing me to be constantly tired and my heart problems cause me to get tired and get exhausted easily. doctors have recommended a colonoscopy as the 'final test' and if they find nothing from that they can truly say we can't find anything and we can't help you sorry. i have refused the test for 2 reasons.

1 i have a terrible phobia of hospitals, anaesthetic and surgeries and have tried to have the colonoscopy but as they were about the put the needle in i freaked out and pushed it away.

2 i don't want to get to the point where they say there's nothing left to do for you and this is your life now you've got to learn to live with it and that's not an option for me as many people have said on here it has effected their lives substantially.

for me i am unable to go to school, socialise, go to family events or even get out of bed some days.

for medication i have tried pretty much any medication with the word 'stomach' on it and all have no affect. nothing seems to work for me no anti-nausea tablets not even the strongest painkillers nothing. i might also mention i have a terrible phobia of swallowing tablets even if they're the size of a tic i can't swallow it. any medication i take simply doesn't work if anything makes my symptoms worse.

i have also tried alternative options for medication and doctors such as hypnotists, energy treatment, naturopaths and chinese herbalists all to which have failed just like traditional medicines.

i am not sure if my tests have come back with results as what i have gone through with doctors are indescribable and unimaginable. doctors have lied to me constantly about doing tests and what the results were and i cannot fully believe anything they say anymore. doctors have found an abnormality in my pancreas, saying that they're not sure what it is it just doesn't look like it's in the right position intending that it's flipped or folded on itself. they said they couldn't see clearly as it was only an ultra sound so they needed to do a CT scan to confirm the situation - they never ended up doing it as the radiologist said this to me and the doctor came back with the results as 'normal' and saying that i made that whole thing up about my pancreas. another abnormality they found was by a chinese doctor finding a problem with my liver through my pulse. he explained it as my liver had stopped working properly and a function of your liver is to flush out any toxins or poisons you may have in your body and mine didn't seem to be doing that so he gave me some herbs to fix that problem on a 3 month course and after 2 months of the course i landed back in hospital after being so mal-nourished i nearly died. there also has been an inflammation marker in my stool sample of my bowel which is why they have suggested a colonoscopy. a normal stool inflammation number is 50 whereas mine is 800 but doctors have indicated that number is 'normal' when it's really 13x over the normal limit. i am currently seeing a stomach specialist where she is probably the best doctor i have seen so far and am currently doing treatment to help my problems with her.

it's gotten to the point where i cannot physically function daily because of this and i know this is a bit of a mouthful to read but i've finally found people who are in the same boat as me and at the end of the day we may have completely different diagnoses but it's nice to know i'm not alone out there suffering with this mystery illnesssmile

Same thing happened to me when I was younger. What I would do is to find something to get my mind off of it. Just keep trying and finding something to get your mind off of it.
