constant pain under the ribs (on the right side ..in the back)

I am experiencing this pain under my ribs, on the right side and more towards my back than in the front..for about three months now and I have to take Ibuprofen almost every day
This pain is just annoying as its not as bad to prevent me from moving or do stuff, but it is very upsetting to have to endure it every day.
I am 29 years old (woman).
I went to the doctor first in February when he tested my blood. The result came back normal (he said he tested for infections). After that I went again and he gave me an X-ray in my abdominal area..well that one came back normal too.
Now, last week (30th of May) he said he would send me through the post a form or something like that.. to go with it and have an ultrasound. I waited now a week and I cant wait to receive it already as I want to see if they will see something at the Echo scan.
I would have wanted the ultrasound taken first if you ask me..as I suspect it might be something like a kidney stone..or something like that..?
I only have this pain in my back, somewhere under my ribs (and on the right side), only when I stand.
I feel better when sitting down or lying. I am thankful for that at least..I suppose it could be worse ..so I get some break from this.
The doctor as I see him is clueless and he said that if we don't find anything after all these tests..he might just blame it on a muscle that was pulled or something..
I mean..this is ridiculous as basically it would be just a guess..even leaving it like that..
what if in time it affects me more with some other consequences?
I am very concerned already and tired with this pain.
Please I would like to know your opinions about this.
I must add that I have no other symptoms..no swellings or other problems. Just this pain every day and is constant and annoying and I just want to know what it is already to treat it and get over with my life.

If there's indigestion, burping, acid reflux involved with the pain.... Test for H.Pylori. It's a simple blood test and treatment. Some facilities even have a breath test for it. That was my problem. I suffered for almost a year before one doctor finally paid attention the the horrible heartburn I was having. As I began to heal, I took several trips to my chiropractor/kinesiologist. Several adjustments later, I feel almost back to normal again and definately pain free.
Hope that helps someone. Best fortunes to you all in finding some answers.

I really want to make sure that people reading this know they aren't alone. My pain in my back (on the inside near my core) and under my ribs came in suddenly while I was standing up in the kitchen washing out a small pot. It was so sudden and painful and felt like my insides were having spasms, or something - I thought it was my lungs because of where the pain was, or my kidneys - but it was too high for that and it went to my front right below my ribs. Even now, 2 days later I feel sore like I was in an accident or worked out to hard or something.
I'm an American size 18/20 and I was in a play over the weekend. I ate out more, more starches, less protein, some alcohol (which is rare for me) and not enough water. AND I was wearing a waist trainer all day and in the evening.
This started 2 days after I fell asleep with one on in a chair and hadn't worn one sense. (No reason, just haven't gone anywhere).
I think my "core" muscles are weak or bruised and my diet is messing with my body. I'm going to do a colon cleanse, take some probiotics, work out my core and change my diet to remove starches and too many sugars.
I had no idea so many people are dealing with this "mysterious" yet very real pain.
I'm going to put this on my FB page too. I'm not advertising, I just found this post accidently because I was scared and looking for answers and this came up.
Please contact me if you find an answer , a medical one or if you find a natural/holistic treatment that works.
I refuse to have this never go away. This is interfering with me sleeping. My toes in my right foot feel numb, as does my the back of fingertips under the nail.
This has to stop.

1. Pain on the right side under the ribs.
2. Pain on the right side of my back. ( it feels like an extension of pain from the ribs)
3. The first time I experienced the pain, it was like a needle pinning from my ribs to the back.
4. The pain has now become constant like it was a tender muscle but sometimes the shooting pain can be felt.
Actions:
I have been to 5 doctors already and they cannot see anything on the cause of the pain. However, one doctor told me that it may be a sludge of very fine sand size of gallstones that goes to my gallbladder.
Tests done:
1. Full abdomen ultrasound
All organs are normal/no stones found
2. Xray (found a slight scoliosis but doctor said it was from my childhood and it do not affect the pain)
3. Blood tests
Here they found I have
High cholesterol
High uric acid
High triglycerides
Which one doctor told me that the high uric acid might have causing the pain
Treatments
1. Pain reliever
Alleviates the pain only when on meds but comes back as soon as I stopped the meds and did not solve the why
2. Liphantyl for high triglyceride and cholesterol
Still on med but the pain is still there ( tender and painful)
My thoughts
I have been so paranoid because of the pain and where it is coming from. And sometimes I fear that it may be cancerous.
Next month I will be incorporating exercise and eat healthily and hopes the pain will subside.

I suffered with right sided pains and all my tests apart from 1 ultrasound out of 4 showed debris in my hall bladder. I recently had a HIDA scan which showed that my gallbladder isn't functioning properly and is causing me pain. I am yet to see the surgeon.
I would recommend this scan as it would show of it is your gallbladder or not. Diverticulitis is usually felt on the left side so not sure on that. Other things on the right could be ovarian, appendix or the spincter of oddi.
I hope you manage to get a diagnosis. I currently suffer with undiagnosed left sided pains
