Constant urge to pee

I pretty much constantly feel pressure and like I have to pee. If I hold it in a long time the urge is stronger but as soon as I go, the urge starts creeping up again. No burning. Seemingly no discoloration or smell,

I've had this problem before which lasted maybe a year and then it gradually faded? But then it came back sometime last year and it's wearing me down so bad to where I break down and lose it some days. I've been to doctors and I never really get much help. The last Urologist cost me what? $400 to $500? And I got nothing out of it and now I don't even know what to do or who to turn to. I just don't have money to keep spending and not even be helped. Most doctors I go to just do the same thing. "Oh it might be a UTI. LEt's check" again and again. One of the only doctors who offered anything outside the box was a doctor from a few years ago who thinks I might have unintentionally trained my bladder to be this way. The most recent one I went to said it might be overactive bladder or something and kinda brushed me off.

I officially had lab tests done that determined I do not have a UTI. I know it isn't an STD because I had this problem before ever partaking in anything like that.

I've tried quitting soda and drinking only water. Still doing that. I'm even trying bladder training currently and I just don't feel like it's really doing much for me? I'm forcing myself to hold it in longer now but even when I do that I'll still have to go again shortly after. I once held it for like 5 hours, emptied, felt a little better, and then I get in the car and shortly I have to go again. It's just this constant awareness I have of my bladder, this constant feeling of like a little pressure or urge. I don't really leak much. Maybe once or twice I have though? I remember one morning waking up feeling like I must have just started my perod but it wasn't that.

So I mean I am at my limit here. I just don't know what kind of doctor to go to anywmore. And like I just can't bear the thought of dropping another $400-500 like a damn fool.

One thing worth trying would be a prolonged fast.  Fasting forces your body to repair itself.  I haven’t seen anything for this particular problem, but I’d imagine it would help.  Start with a water fast and then do a dry fast.  Google “fasting + healing” and you’ll find countless videos and resources.  One I recommend is the snake diet.  The guy who runs the site swears a lot but he knows what he’s talking about.  Best wishes to you all.

I have found watermelon to relieve the "urge". It's strange but after 3 years of misery, I've been eating water melon to stop it.

I've also learned that bread, dairy or sugar or large quantities of meat starts the irritation.

Green smoothie for breakfast with quality vitamins. Fruit and vegetable for lunch with small quantity of meat (not processed) Light dinner.

If I mess up, water melon fixes it pretty fast.

Hey, I'm sorry you're still struggling with this 😦 I really think my issue is because of anxiety. It seems to come and go, and I only really notice it when I'm super anxious. And it doesn't seem as severe as yours sound. I really think your problem may be IC (but then again, I'm no doctor). If you haven't already, I really suggest reading up on IC, because there's a diet that you can follow that will help with symptoms.

I wish you the best of luck! Keep fighting! We're rooting for you!

I've had exactly the same thing but I'm now getting some relief from focusing on relaxing the muscles there. I'm in Australia and it's late here at the moment and I'll go into more detail tomorrow but i just had to let you guys know. I'll post more tomorrow but i started yesterday focusing on relaxing and within hours i felt an improvement. Today i went for hours where it was gone and of course it was bliss. But this afternoon i went out and it came back again but i think i was distracted and not relaxing the muscles as much or something. i don't know but I'm home again and relaxing and it's better again. like not even bothering me. Of course apart from the terror that it'll come back, anyway I'll post more tomorrow but just had to let you know.

Yeah, nah. God dammit. The relaxing the muscles worked for about a day and a half and then it was back again as bad as ever. Although going out and socialising seems to make it worse, annoyingly. But I did some weeding in the garden today and it improved it a tiny bit. I can't work it out. I'm going to give the cayenne pepper a go.

Had this problem for 7 years. ABSOLUTELY torture feeling like you need to go pee all the time. Went to the doctor and they checked for uti and sexual trans disease. both negative. then they wanted to check prostate... negative on that as well. next went to urologist and that loser told me to just wait it out and it would eventually go away. no doctor i saw even came close to solving my problem. eventually i decided to start doing my own research and that is how i overcame the constant urge to pee. first and best thing i learned was that i had "IC". hard to remember the technical name...something like inter...cyctisis. here is all the next steps i took to overcome that.

    1. completely stopped all caffeine. that includes chocolate, pop, tea, coffee, even liquid products that say they are caffeine free. mainly just had water and little bit of milk and juice.
    2. stopped eating all foods which triggered urge. found that it was foods high in vitamin c. oranges, red onion, brocolli, kiwi. started eating antiinflammatory foods. found watermelon to help as well probably cause its great for its alkaline nature. also found high protein meals to help. basically i was eating too much food high in vitamin c and not enough protein. i reversed that and it helped.
    3. needed to retrain bladder so after i would pee then no matter how bad the urge i would wait a couple hours before i would go again.
    4. tried to work on relaxing. stress and anxiety works it toll on you and i tried to eliminate everything that caused me stress.

Now i am feeling 100%. it took awhile for me to feel better. after i changed my diet, i did notice a difference after a week then i trained my bladder and i could easily go without urge for 2 hours. now i can go for 4-5 hours depending on what i drink. i have a new appreciation for water and everyday i consume at least 3 cups of just straight water. very good and healthy thing to do. i am thinking my body was very high in acidity and lowering that with straight water and other alkaline food helped me. now i can have coffee and foods high in vitamin c but only in moderation. the other day i had too much coffee and like before felt the urge more frequently. i didnt stress about it though cause i knew if i drank more water and stayed away from coffee for a day then i would feel good again and that is exactly what happened. hopefully this post will help someone cause its not fair to feel that way especially for years. although now that i look back on it, all 4 remedy aspects which helped me, really helped me in more ways then one.

    OK all,

I hope I can spread this to as many people with this problem as possible. TIBIAL NERVE STIMULATION! I believe nerves can be confused from many things - lasting damage from infections, childbirth, trauma, drug use etc. The one thing that has helped me is tibial nerve stimulation. it is basically acupuncture in your foot and inside ankle with an electrical current to re train your nerves. Takes 6 sessions over 6 weeks for me it to start working. I have been troubled for 10 years with a constant urge so bad i have thought life is not worth living. This treatment have brought me bliss and comfort! Botox, bladder installations, solifenecin, mirabegron, special diets, never worked. TNS did! I want to shout it from the rooftops!!! please try it 😃

sorry I kinda dropped off the face of the earth. some people have asked me how I am holding up. given that I spent 400-600$+ out of pocket at a urologist just for them to tell me "dunno its not an infection and to do more extensive tests youd have to pay more than you can afford" and got shooed out the door, I basically quit trying to ask doctors for help. which is a very depressing feeling I gotta say.

i get by by accepting it and not thinking about it too much. i would say I suffer from anxiety and some sort of ocd. my anxiety is almost dangerously unhealthy to where I almost need to look into a doctor just for that alone. but ever since I looked into sensory ocd a year or so ago im still somewhat convince that it could be that. an unfortunate niche issue that may be very different than what you all have.

i dont know if ill ever have any updates but hopefully this thread and the people posting can help someone who is still seeking help

Holy hell, I am dealing with the exact problem after a UTI from an unecessary catheter in a hospital. I feel leaking out of my urethra and a constant urge to urinate. They told me it is interstitial cystitis and pelvic floor dysfunction brought on by the infection. It truly is a living nightmare when you go to the bathroom and as soon as you stand up the feeling to go starts up again. It is a basic human function and it can drive you absolutely insane as I have been dealing with it for more than three years. They loaded me up on so many medications for pain, anxiety, and the urination issues that I lost count. I just had the interstim implant done (Stage 1). It is helping, though not as much as I expected, but the rep from medtronics said to keep it low for the first two days and then we will see improvement when adjusting it the day after. I am a male so I was labeled with chronic prostatitis constantly in the beginning before I found a good specialist. Can we communicate back and forth about this if you have the time. My name is George. Just send me a message and see if we can help each other out.

i have been attending Prof MALONE lee and he put me on long term antibiotics. I was on KEFLEX for over a year and now on microdantin. I thought i was improving a little but so bad again. My only problem is constant bladder pressure which never goes away just eases the odd day. I am trying my best not to go under but after 11 years of torture its becoming increasingly difficult. I cry every day, my sex life is gone which is more pressure as its not fair on my husband my daughter has CYSTIC fibrosis and never looks after herself so i am really at breaking point. sorry i know this is not helping anybody and i wish i could say i found the cure. I am still hopeful PROF M L will eventually find the right drug to get rid of this. I am 58 now.
