Continous Flu/Cold Symptoms

Posted , 50 users are following.

My daughter 12 myself and ex husband best friend and sister have all had continuous cold/flu symptoms since Sept 2014. We all been prescribed antibiotics antihistermenes inhalers etc by our own seperate GPs but we all have a continuous cough very bad mucus runny noses electric shock feelings and dizziness and aching joints. Nothing helps. Weve also discovered that our friends and other people we know have this. We are diversely spread across the UK Cardiff Bristol Cheltenham Devon Yorkshire etc. Has anyone else had these flulike symptoms for such a long time?

That wd be a whole year of being ill? I have not heard of this. Does this present as severe illness that lets up and then returns? Do you have a doctor you trust?

Well, I think we need to pump up our immune system. And hormones don't help as well.

I'm seeing my doctor- whom I really like and trust - today. But how DO we strengthen our immune systems? Vitamin B12 shots? Or what? Let me know if you have a particular suggestion.

Turmeric it's a spice -very good. Omega 3 and Vitamin D! I was doing digging and we all need Vitamin D. Most people in England have very low levels of it. Lots fresh oranges, lemons, kiwis - vitamin C.

I have started to do all pumping too late 😕 when I got that super bug and couldn't shake it off almost for 3 months.

      Blessings

Oh, thank you, Natalia! I'll do that. Maybe turmeric tea w honey. My doctor gave me a complicated regimen, afrin, nasal saline, and a few other things to do religiously. Instead of Vicks I'm using Tiger Balm. Here in the US we now have upsurges of whooping cough. I apparently don't have that. But everyone is sick w these horrible and Ling lasting viruses - including my doc and his office manager. Oh: he gave me a couple mega shots of vitamin B12 in each arm for the immune system.

😃I think I have been on that forum for too long. 😁 You are very welcome. I didn't try turmeric tea I just add it every where : soups, roasted vegetables just sprinkle over it gives lovely gold colour, rice when it's ready to go and just a bit in my mouth. It's not very tasty but it's good for you and I am fine with it.

Blessings and have a good Marry Christmas and Happy new year!

I know this post started a long time ago but I have just been reading all the comments with part relief that my current situation is not an isolated one and part terror that no one has posted to say they are completely better! Have any of you recovered? If so how?!

I am now in my 11th week of being unwell and it is driving me mad. It started with a general unwell feeling for a week which then after a couple of days of feeling better turned into flu/stomach flu which was awful and left me in bed for two or three weeks. I strayed to feel a bit better for a week and then it came back for a week only to be replaced on Boxing Day with the Mother of all colds. I have never had anything like it before. Symptoms changed almost daily but included a very very dry sore throat, being unable to breathe for a couple of days followed by a week or two of getting through mountains of tissues everyday. Headaches, sinus pain, dizziness, chills, a temp of around 37.5 and total exhaustion followed and have been with me ever since. I struggle to drive with it as I feel dizzy and nauseous when doing so. One day I think I feel a little better and the next day I feel a lot worse again. It is soul destroying that no one knows what it is - or aren't saying - and can't do anything about it. If I knew there was definitely an end I would feel a bit better about it. My blood tests a couple of weeks ago showed low (but not deficient) Vit D and iron so I have been taking 2000iu of Vit D a day and iron supplement along with B1 and Multi vits and Vit C. I'm drinking Camomile tea, ginger, honey and lemon, making chicken soup til the thought of it makes me feel sick and I'm loosing weight. Also have weird chocolate/sugar cravings too - anyone else got those?

My Mother has it and it's turned into worst inner ear infection her doctor has ever seen (quote), she cannot keep anything down; my ex has it and it turned into Walking Pneumonia for him. My mothers gp said it seems to be slightly different for everyone but no one knows how to get rid of it. At the end of my tether so would appreciate any positive news from those who've come out the other side!

Hi there...Oh my, we live just outside Cardiff, YES we have had these symptoms for over a year now!!!...Got another bout of this, as I write...This is about my 5th time of this "Flu"...I am sick of being sick...My Mother has had several bouts of this too and unfortunately ended up with pneumonia at Christmas, and was hospitalised for 2 weeks. Now it seems she is on the verge of something nasty again. Really we all can't seem to understand what is going on.  Mum had the "Flu" vaccine but saying that, there are so many different strains it's doubtful these work...I am not sure what is going on but this is not right..Feels like I've been run over by a truck.!!...Hope you guys are feeling better ....

Yes, so Alison, I answered your email. I've been laid up now for about 5 months. Well, the past 6 weeks, I'll admit, I was laid up because I had foot surgery so that doesn't count. But I still have a cough after getting whooping cough - I think it was whooping cough; it was going around New York City where I live - last December. I have to take medication every night to suppress the cough. Being in such a polluted city doesn't help.

I think you may have sent me a message? I still have a cough after 5 months. I believe I had whooping cough, since it was going around New York where I live.

I was so excited to find this site but it doesn't appear that anyone posted a resolution to the symptoms that we all seem to share.  It is February 9, 2018 and I have had reoccurring flu like symptoms since before Christmas.  Now my 15 year daughter is also ill. Not sure how she avoided it for as long as she did.  I have been to Dr. twice first I was given Z-pak, Musinex DM, Albuterol inhaler, then Singulair (Montelukast Sodium). Have felt better off and on for several days and now I am worse than ever. Did any one ever find a name, cure or even better natural remedies that helped rid this virus for good?

I hate to say it but I'm glad I'm not going mad! Shock feelings dizziness acheing joint pain in chest from over zealous vomiting I'm freezing then boiling I'm exhausted feel like I habeen left in the dryer on hot! Every muscle hurts even my hair! So I share your pain and I look forward to us all feeling human again.  Also I did get the flu shot waste of time.  May be things would be worse - that would be stop breathing and I felt that was a possibility early on.  -  what I never said I was grave
