Copy and Paste

WHY is there no paste facility on here? I tracked down my previous very similar response to a related question only to find that, although copy worked, paste did not. Also, is there a way to search one's own contributions? If so it would be a big time saver as, inevitably, questions are often repeated, sometimes some time later.
Infuriatingly paste DID work on here but would not work when I tried to use it in a reply.

Hi all,
I'm back Friday so will answer better then but using mouse to paste is temperamental. If you move your mouse and right click again it will work (mostly). I am aware and have reported this.

Relieved I was not making a fuss about nothing. When tech doesn't work I always think it's my fault and a lot of the time it is!

Hi Betty,
I've looked at this again and it looks like as long as your mouse cursor is positioned on the first line in editor box it will work. If you click in the box but you right click on the next line for example you won't have paste option. So best way of doing copy/paste with mouse is make sure when you right click the mouse pointer is positioned where the flashing cursor in text box is. Hope this makes sense and as others have said here Ctrl/V option will always work.
Regards,
Alan

Many thanks, Alan.
I must, in the past, have just fortuitously hovered in the right place. Good to have a back up method to fall back on.
