try the alleve. Remember the things to avoid that I mentioned in my last post. Also, a couple more things. No sudden movements. And also the summertime. I live in the Southern U.S. and the summers here get really hot. If I get into a vehicle that's been out in the sun a while (and it feels like 110 degrees in there) that tends to set it off.

    Good luck!

The dr said I had costocondritis for months .Just seen another Dr who said I have fibromyalgia. I don't really think they are right though cause the only symptom I have is upper back and chest/rib pain.what are your symtoms?

Hi, my doc is suspecting that I have fibro, too. Or I started, because  it seemed that the symptoms were all over the place, not just the usual Costo areas, which are on the upper part of the body, and I have a low fever every day and terrible fatigue. Fibro often comes with Costo. Did you have a lots of tests and did you get you diagnose from a rheumatologist? If you have fibro, be happy if you don't have any other symptoms. Of course I don't know how bad your Costo is...

Are you keeping a goof diary? Have you had tests for coeliac disease?

Sorry, I was typing in a rush - a food diary! Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition which means the body reacts badly to any food with gluten in it. About 1% of the population has it but the vast majority of those people don't realise they have it and get misdiagnosed with ailments like costochondritis. I was told for two years that that was my problem and it wasn't. A simple blood test will tend to work.

I have had every test done past fee months everything going came back normal . The rheumatologist I finally seen Thursday said most likely fibromyalgia even though I have no lower body pain so I'm hoping he's wrong

My costocondritis has really calmed down between eating right and taking supplements wit my own research but I just still have a constant dull ache in my chest and upper back. I think the doc may have misdiagnosed fibro or at least I'm hoping all inflammation test came back negative

I have also been diagnosed with costochondritis and I am finding the same breast pain in my right breast abs through my back as some have described . What worries me is when I sneeze the pain is unbearable and it takes me 15-20 minutes to recover . Does anyone else have extreme pain when sneezing ?
