Costochondritis Question

Hello everyone, I'm new here and was wondering if anyone can help.
For over a year I have been suffering with chest pain in the middle and it seems to be in the same place around my back.
Sometimes the pain moves to the left sidebar under my breast.
Past few days it has been getting worse and it hurts when I breathe in and out and my chest feels tender and very tight.
Is this normal for Costochondritis? I have been to the doctor a few times over this and had a X-ray last year where they said it was pleurisy. I've been
To the doctors a few times in the last few months with it but it's never been this bad and the doctor says the same thing. I hope someone can help as I am really in pain.

Thing is it started off just coming and going and days without it, then it comes back severe and knock me for six.
Right in the middle of my chest and feels like someone is sitting in it, it is on my back as well at the opposite side. When I breath in or out it just hurts really bad. I've had 3 doctors kinda saying the same, one said muscle sprain etc but this one good doctor who is usually spot on says it's this.
Had a ecg and although it was 99 they said it wasn't enough to say I had heart problems. When I go for walks and Get out of breathe I start caughinf and wheezing and it comes on painful again for hours.
Does this sound like this condition at all?

Hi
Have you had new X-rays ? I would ask for X-ray, or MRI to rule out other problems.
I hope you can get some answers and most of all, help so you won't be suffering.

I'm so sorry for anyone who is going through this. I have had every x-ray, scan with and without contrast MRI and everything in between. Mine has been around (in one form or another) for about 3 months ! When it started it was on my right side and my upper right chest hurt and everytime I tried to take a deep breath it hurt very badly. I have resigned myself to the fact that I have Costochondritis (Tietz) syndrome. I have 3 doctors who have more or less confirmed it. Does not make it any better because there does not seem to be any "cure" and I'm told it will gradually go away! God, I hope so! I am a lung cancer survivor (3 years), I've had double carotid artery surgery and a heart attack! I don't believe any of those hurt as bad as this. Today has been brutal but tomorrow I hope it is better. Thank God I don't have the pain everyday and I look forward to it being gone! Try to hang in there! Take anti inflammatory meds, and I do better with heat and rest! I will pray for you all!!!

So I phoned my doctors surgery and they didn't even care, told me to go and get stomach medicine from the chemist and if it's still like this a week later then to come back, I'm in so much pain it's unreal.
Every breathe I take in and out is sore and feels like someone is sitting on my chest and I feel it on my back as well. If I breathe out I gets so sore I start coughing. What is the usual symptoms for this condition and will it get better?

Mark I'm no doctor however I've not long been discharged from the hospital with pancreastiris (inflamed pancreas) & your symptoms sound very much like mine Ithought I was having chest pain however the pain was right at the top of my stomach' it hurt when I ate too!
Also when doctors give you a blood test unless they suspect it they don't check blood for it! I would certainly ask for 2md opinion! Let us know how you get on

I went to the doctor and got an ecg and my scan hasn't changed at all for 2 years, It said I had left axis tyciardia but I've had that for years due to the depression pills I'm on. The scan said normal apart for that.
The pain is moving a lot and it's very tender to touch and on the left side of my body, from under my left breast, all the way down to bottom of my rib cage. The chest soreness is still there a bit but not as bad as before so they say it's costo as I can feel the pain and no more tears are needed. I've had this nearly a month now and fed up of the continuous pains. How long does it stay for and has anyone found anything to help make it less painful as I always feel I'm having a heart attack and it gets my anxiety up perminately.

This is bang on what I have at the moment as well, currently it has moved to just under my left breast and I feel very tender around all them spots. This does sound like costo although my doctor and another one thinks it is but it's always good to get a gp's opinion.
