Dunno if this helps but -- my sister was treated with antibiotics for 12 years by her aged GP for recurring urethritis infections. He retired and a new lady GP read her records and said " have you never had an X-ray? " No, my sister said, should I have. Well she then had one and it revealed a huge stag stone in a kidney which she had removed and thus survives on one kidney now for the last 30 odd years. The stone was so huge it grew up all the tubes connected to the kidney.

    Hope this helpsRon Gager 01424224797.

Hi Karen, are you active, ie go to the gym, do a lot of exercise, horseride or lift heavy items.

I just wondered about the exercise thing as I am very active and have similar problems to you except I dont have constant bladder problems but a few a year and one definitely linked to my femoral hernia recently, otherwise everything is similar. I have a femoral hernia. I have been discussing this with another lady who has posted "shooting pain in right groin area". I had a lot of pain in right hand side, lower quarter. If you believe it may be a hernia then join the discussion above, also a couple of articles that point out the difficulty in finding hernias that dont bulge, presumably they have looked for that. It may well be something else but I thought I had an appendicitis to begin with, it is the logical thing.

Hi Karen, I have written quite a bit more under "femoral hernias/hernia", Right groin pain etc. and have found some articles online that are worth reading. I do have the same symptoms as you except for the breasts. My thrush is recurring and if not treated with Caneston can close my vagina. My bowels have a feeling of fullness and it doesnt allow me to stuff myself but my feces (poos) are ok, mainly beause I am careful what I eat NOW, lots of fibre. I have suffered two UTI and my periods are more painful and heavier. I believe I caused my femoral hernia by overdoing it in the garden, DIY, and the gym. I ruptured myself. I started off with severe pain in my righthand side. Since then with a multitude of antibiotics the pain has subsided but thrush, bowels and bladder are not good and I have a feeling of tiredness plus an aching in my right area. You may well have something completely different, obviously I dont know. Ask yourself did your problems start after overdoing it with exercise??? Could you have pushed yourself too hard. Check out the better written articles I metioned if you are interested. Hope things improve.

i read your article some off my symptons do sound like what you have i dont have any problem passing stools tho, its just a feeling off constipation i have all the time but i am fine its just the same feeling, doctors treated me for the bladder infections i have had approx 13 now since xmas more or less constant since xmas, i used too do a lot off exercising a few years ago mainly running i did, my periods arent too bad but i get clotting when i do bleed only bleed for about 2-3 days and then it all goes away, my bladder infection seems too always come around the week before my period and last about a week after, i think my thrush always comes because off the antibiotics that the doctors were given me for the so called bladder infections !!! intercourse is unbearable and i am in agony afterwards also do you have this problem ?

Hi Karen, I have to keep referring back to your answer as I cant see it (hopefully they change this on the site). I certainly dont have sex as it would be horrendously painful. You have put your thrush down to antibiotics but it may not be that it may be something else causing the thrush. My bowels are fine but I am watching what I eat and I am now careful not to eat rubbish but I just cant overeat, I just feel full. Now you mention running and "quite a lot" it can be a cause of a femoral hernia. While researching my problem I decided that as I was young and fit I didnt fit into the normal criteria of obese or old for hernias. I went on "runners world" which is a forum for runners and went into the health area and there are many runners who have got a hernia females as well as males. You must read my articles Karen but firstly, have you had any abdominal operations in your life CS etc. they can cause a weakness that can then rupture even giving birth can weaken the area. My bladder doesnt get constant infections but I drink masses I know if I dont drink liquids I may well get far more. Have you had any tests, MRI, CT, ultrasound have the doctors managed to rule anything out???? Right groin pain can be many things but it can also be a hernia. It is not a mans problem so dont dismiss it thinking you have to be a macho strongman, it is very common in women. Also it can occur at a very young age as well. How old are you? It is very easily dismissed by doctors that dont come across it. Has it never been mentioned to you?

iv never had any operation c sections or anything iv never had children i am jst 30 a few weeks ago, i done most my training before i got married about 5 years ago, i never had any problems with infections its only gotten worse in the last year or so i had the odd bladder infection after i got married maybe once or twice a year just i never had a pain in my right hand side this has only started happening in the last year also with the weight loss and my breasts seem too be sore all the time now that has started happening in the past 6 months im not pregnant or nothing so it has nothing too do with that

When I say my articles I mean the ones you can google. They have been written in a more comprehensive way and give the medical words which I cant always remember. Also one of the women they mention had 4 operations before they diagnosed her with a hernia....... help. I am obviously not sure about your breasts and how at all that could be connected to a hernia. I dont mind trying to help Karen but in the end you have to digest the information and decide if it is worth mentioning to your doctor. The running to me is the crucial bit. I do know a man who has a hernia without a lump (I havent the faintest idea if thats a femoral hernia) he was a runner and has now given the running up as its too painful. Can you still run without pain?????

Have you pointed to where you get this pain in your right hand side to your GP. Have you had an Ultrasound, MRI, CT scan to rule out your appendix or cyst etc. Have you had a very bad cold which caused you to cough constantly at about the time the problems started, a very bad cold could cause a rupture (hernia). Have you had blood tests, a hernia would not show in a blood test.If you have had no exploratory tests yet it is early days but my femoral hernia is upsetting all my nearby organs and I am convinced it has caused the thrush. I did have UTI on occasions before I had the righthand groin pain. I also had thrush on occasions before but nothing like it is now. I dont want to convince you to go down the wrong route as to be honest that is what doctors are for.

That last sentence didnt come out that well. I meant I dont want to convince you you have this femoral hernia. The doctors should be qualified to diagnose you and send you for tests to find out whats wrong.
