Could this be herpes ?

Alright here's why i am asking if this could be herpes, i dated a girl for a month ( i slept with her) until she told me that she had herpes, yup she didn't say it before. We always used a condom tho. Lately, i've been noticing some red spot  on my penis, some just go away by time ( sometimes like 2 days or less) but tonight, after i masturbated, i noticed this bigger red spot and those around. I've been feeling a LITTLE bit of burn during the past days, but i don't know if it's just me paranoying that i could be getting an outbreak anytime soon and as soon as i think about it my penis itches. I've read that herpes hurt and bla bla, that it has a white discharge but yet i don't have anything white but i also read that the symptom could be mild and u could have nothing at all or just red spot...

Last day i went to the doctor to get my ADHD medications and i talked about it with him, at the time the red spot weren't active and i asked to get a blood test to see if i had HSV2 and he said that i probably don't have it and he won't past at test unless i was really worried about it and he said that if i had it, i would've shown severe symtoms 10 days after contraciton since to developp antibodies i would need to have gotten symptoms. At this point i wondered if my own doctor knew what herpes was since i've read plenty enough in the past days and u could have herpes without any outbreaks ( so symptoms) so he confused me a bit rather than reassuring. So please take a look at the picture and tell me what you think , herpes or HSV2? Also, how many time does an herpes outbreak last like if it disapear in 2 days is it safe to say that this isn't herpes ?

Thanks a lot, have a good day.

The doctor told me that she's pretty sure that it's not herpes, she didn't even swab it, she says herpes forms a crater and she've seen what it looks like. She also told me that 1/4 of the population have anti bodies vs HSV and i asked if they have antibodies doesnt that mean that they have the virus ? she said no , so my question is why is there blood test for it ? if you can have antibodies but doesn't mean u have the virus, it just mean that u've been exposed to the virus. She didn't really tell me what i had, most likely irritation she said, reaction to a new soap or idk. Fact : she said that in a relation where one has HSV and the other no, after 18 months if the person didn't contract it, it's most likely that she's immune to it.

You ask more intelligent questions than your doctor can answer! If a person has antibodies to a virus, of course they were infected with that virus at one point, and with herpes, we know that this means they still carry the virus now, as herpes is for life. Perhaps she means nor active herpes? I honestly don't know what else she means by that statement, but quite a few doctors seem to get very mixed up about herpes, often confusing "infection" and "exposure", etc. And one might assume that after 18 months a person might be immune, but if so, that only means they already carry it. Also, there are certainly cases of people acquiring herpes after 18 months in a relationship.

Should i just go get a blood test anyway ? If i have antibodies i have it, if i don't i'm clean.. That way i'll be in peace of mind.

For peace of mind, yes, you can test for IgG antibodies (not IgM) at 3+ months. Make sure the test is type-specific and that you are tested for both HSV types. Heads-up: There can be issues with the IgG test, especially if using the HerpeSelect test kit when you have pre-existing HSV1. Hopefully, you will test a clear negative for both.

Do i really have to wait 3 months ?

Well, you can test earlier, say at 2 months, but 3 months covers all seroconversions, including late ones. Very conservative sites will advise 4 months. HSV experts typically say 3 months. Some STD and online lab sites may suggest less. Personally, for peace of mind, I'd want to test at 3 months. If I was really worried, I might test earlier as well as at 3 months.
