herpes takes 4 months to show up in the blood. swabs arent accurate. wait 4 months to get bloodwork done

kind of and I wouldn't rule that out just yet. it looks more like a chancroid std. theres no blood test for chancroid, the ulcer needs to be swabbed for the bacteria that causes it. Symptoms for chancroid usually occur within four days to ten days from exposure. They rarely develop earlier than three days or later than ten days. syphilis std causes a painless chancre and takes 1-2 weeks to show up in a blood test. I dont have a penis so I dont know if it's a possibility that you chafed the inside through masturbation? how long after sex did you wait to get tested? the general rule for std testing is 2 weeks after your last sexual encounter. herpes takes 4 months to show in a blood test, and the swab tests they offer for hsv are rarely accurate because the sore has to be open weeping or shedding the virus while it's being swabbed. It's best to get it swabbed the first two days it appears. Hiv takes 6 months to show in the blood

i used to masturbate a lot like every day some weeks ( i was going thru some difficult times it was the only way i found to escape) but i have had a few sexual partners mostly just receiving oral tho, i have not had unprotected intercourse. i went back to the doctor this past Monday and they swabbed again for another test and they said they will refer me to a urologist if everything comes back neg. i was just doing research on my own and HPV keep coming up so ive been freaking out thinking i might have cancer

hey Luke thanks for replying... was the bump a sore at some point? your pictures show that there may have a scab over bump? did it hurt at all or did it burn or cause discomfort when peeing? this is what my looks like... im waiting for test results and im freaking out right now.

mine didnt really have any symptoms. was not painfull at all... just minor discomfort while peeing... been a couple days since it appeared and it seems to going away now. doctor still gave me antiviral pills..

      Hey Luke,

I have nearly the same exact thing! It's been there for a week, mine hasn't scabbed over like yours. I think mine is caused by some sort of trauma.

So far all my results for STDs are negative.

I find relief that someone else is experiencing this.

      TY

hello there james, i tested herpes igg/igm blood test 7 months after the possible infection and i saw some bumps. but all results came negative. should i wait 1-2 years to show up the immune response??

herpes test has an 8% error rate. You can order a western blot end it will be 99% accurate versus 92% with IgG

Hey did you ever figure out what this was... in the same boat

please you have some news, i have the same situation, please help me

some of these pics that are posted aren't really the same thing you had but mine looks like literally the same exact thing. You said it turned out to be nothing, but what does that mean? What did the doctor say it was? Did it ever go away? Did you take any meds?

I've had mine for a month and a half and cant get into the urologist for another month. Saw three docs and all said it is not a wart. Tested negative for all STD's. They all said different things from irritation, balanitis and lichen planus. It just doesnt really fit the textbook on any of these.....Really hope to get a follow up from u.
