hi. best wishes for your OP. your going thro all the emotions most of us do pre OP. but for me ( just over 10 weeks post op) it's like I've been given my life back and I'm still recovering.

**that's brilliant news Sonya, you will be a new woman in no time! Had my op on the 20th Aug 2018, so will be going for my 1yr check up soon!

I walk about 3-4miles regularly every day if possible and am loving and living my life to the max, pain-free again. Of course I do get some days when I am a bit achey but it soon passes and off I go again!

Good luck, hope you have a spinal, as recovery from surgery is much quicker!

Take care and don't overdo it, baby steps at first.

    Regards

    Pat

Wishing you all the best, and keep us posted, Judith

Thank you 😃 hope I am not expecting too much, should I lower my expectations? just want to get my life back, seems extreme doesn't it, but that's what it feels like, dreadfully painful and depressing, prisoner in my own home, so want what you have lol 'not long now' . Very pleased yours went well, take care 😃

By the way, the no bending/kneeling/picking stuff up off the floor rule, it says 12 weeks, how strict is this? I know I probably won't want to lol but does everyone stick to 12 weeks? any advice?

hi my information sd we had to wait 10 weeks so it seems to vary hospital yo hospital. I'm just over 10 weeks and noticed I can now easily do things like picking things off the floor or bending down without restrictions altho occasionally I'm still doing them. think it's become a habit tbh. I've not yet dared to sit on lower furniture as I'm comfy sitting on a higher chair I have.

think as others say your body just suddenly seems to click and things improve.

      best wishes

Yes I think it's take it day by day, i'll take it slowly and i'm sure I won't want to be bending and doing so I won't lol, slowly does it, I just want it to happen over night lol need to get back to normality, take care 😃

Yes, just take it slowly, and as the others have said, you'll gradually feel able to do more. I was told at my 7 week follow up that I could pretty much do what I wanted, but I was still quite careful.
