cured!!!! 100% real story/my story!!!

This is my story. I am not completely sure how I got it or if I ever really had it. I did what some people might have also done, self diagnosed. If I could go back I would have definitely went to a dermatologist and demanded a skin scrape test, which would hopefully determine what exact skin condition I had. But I was convinced and still believe I had scabies.

It all started with a small patch of bumps that were on my right forearm. It was about 2 weeks before Christmas. I noticed the bumps after they started to itch a little, but didn’t think much of it. Then it seemed to appear on the other forearm. Not ever having something like this or even understanding the many possibilities, I just thought it was a simple rash. About 3 days later while sleeping, I woke up with a severe itchiness on the inside of both my thighs, then during the day it was like it disappeared. It happened the next day but seemed more severe, and the only thing that seemed to help was taking a hot bath and letting the water run over my thighs. Again in the morning it went away. After that night of basically no sleep and in the bath, I went on webMD and typed in all my symptoms and it came up with scabies as one of the possibilities, especially with the itching and scratching at night. At this point I was not sure what I should do. The next night was the same as the two previous nights but seeming to get more intense. But in the morning I woke up and noticed that it had spread all over my body. It was all over my arms, but not really on the hands. It was all over my back, on my chest and stomach, and all over my legs and on my feet. The weird thing about my lower legs like from the knee down, it that around each hair follicle it seem to have a red circle. At this point I went to a community urgent care. When I went they asked what I was there for, I told them a rash and that I thought I might be scabies. Of course me not knowing the nightmare of a condition it can be, I told them, and of course the treated me as if I had the plague or something. Knowing what I know now I can not really blame them. Needless to say they were very unhelpful, one of the nurses told me that simple lice shampoo would take care of the problem. So I took her advice and went to Rite Aid and bought some and put in all over my body. Of course as you all probably know, it takes a lot more than simple hair lice product to kill them. So after a couple days and a couple applications of Rid the head lice treatment with no results I decided to go to a real urgent care affiliated with a hospital. When I went in and told them what I thought I had, they didn’t treat much different from other patients in the waiting room. Even the doctor was pretty at ease with sitting in the room and talking with me, or at least it seemed as if he was. Anyway, he prescribed permitherin. I put it all over except my face. The next morning it actually seemed to help a lot. Also washed all my blankets pillows and all dirty clothes in hot water. And I grabbed my bike and went out for a ride, with scratch scars on my arms and legs, but I was cured. So I thought. It only took a couple days to realize that permitherin helped but did not kill or cure all. I found myself refilling my perscription 7 days later and reapplying it because even the package says it may need second dosage 7 days later. The second dose still didn’t kill or cure all.

I then found myself searching the web and reading and learning as much as I can about this. At this point I was convinced I had scabies because I even talked to a doctor and he told me if the scabicide worked even a little it only works on parasites and not skin conditions such as follicleitis and others that are commonly confused with scabies. As the saying goes IGNORANCE IS DEFINITELY BLISS! The more I read, the more I was horrified. Ever story of struggle with hardly and happy endings, was discouraging. I can not tell you how many posts and forum pages I read. I was determined to beat this.

This is what I bought;

I bought a plastic drop “cloth” from the dollar store to cover my mattress with. I would spray and wipe this down every morning with Lysol or some type of disinfectant spray because believe me Lysol gets very expensive after a little while. I believe I replaced this once a week or so, but only a dollar so not too bad.

I bought plastic pillow cover from Wal-Mart I think. Actually slept without pillow throughout most of this. I also sprayed and wiped down every morning.

I bought plastic gloves from dollar store that I wore almost all day. Probably was a riot to a lot of people while driving in the streets, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t letting myself come into contact with any new ones that might be on objects in my car or in my house. I made sure that to throw these away every time I touched something I thought could possibly have been contaminated. So needless to say I went through a lot of plastic golves.

Always had plastic bags for my laundry, trash(mostly napkins and plastic gloves).

I tried to confine myself to my room so I ate out I would say 99.99% of this time. I would mostly go to McDonalds and get a cheeseburger and a dollar salad. And buy like two of three of these for the day.

This was my regimen for many many months;

I limited my clothes I wore to 3 sets, and washed clothes every 3 to 4 days. I also limited what I used as blankets at night, 1 sheet.

This is what remedies I have tried;

Permitherin about 5 or 6 times. I took 1 dose that seems to help a lot but not all the way. Went back a week later and did it one more time. After that didn’t work I believe I tried it 3 times in a row, which still did not kill all. I also read online somewhere that they are getting more and more resistant to permitherin. And if you think about it, it make sense that they are suvivors, they have been around for a long long time.

After permitherin didn’t work, I tried vinegar

After vinegar didn’t work I tried Neem. I used the Neem lotion from Henry’s , now Sprout’s.

After neem didn’t work, I ordered some pure neem oil from eBay, along with coconut and olive oil.

After that didn’t work I decided I was going to try Ivermectin.

Ivermectin worked for me.

Luckily I live close to Tijuana, Mexico so I was able to take a trip down there and purchase Ivermectin, or Ivermectina in Spanish. I bought enough to take 3 weeks in a row. I did this and was cured, it was not instant, I had a lot of bumps and residuals still poping up from time to time, but this time I knew something was different. It took a month or two to really stop seeing new bumps form, but I heard it could take a while for all the scabies that died due to ivermectin to come out of skin, and while they are there still they show symptoms of iratation, i.e. rash.

Even to this day I get small little bumps pop up, but I pretty sure by taking the permitherin and ivermectin I probably picked up a small case of dermatitis or follicleitis.

Please ask any questions, I will try to help as much as possible, Please hang in there and remember things can and will get better!

    Anthony, where can I get the Ivermectin. I've read on some of these posts online that you can go to Tractor Supply and purchase the type that they give to horses? I've had this since March 20 . I have done the permethrin 3 x in a period of a week ,I'm still getting bumps . I went to a dermatologist and she did a scraping and said that she didn't see any signs of scabies. But in still getting the bumps. My skin looks terrible

    Thank you - I need some encouragement. Have had scabies for 3 months off and on and given just permethrin from an NP at CVS. I started ivermectin yesterday and applied permethrin all over my body. I sleep on a plastic covered sofa and haven't touched my husband or my dog for weeks. My washer just broke from washing so many clothes. I am discouraged because I was very itchy last night and found at least 6 different sites on my body with papules.

    My sister is staying the night for 3 days and she lives with my gma and aunt and they had scabies . I stopped staying the night over there and took baths in this special shampoo and it got rid of them. They said they got rid of them but I seem to be the only one noticing they still have them . My sister is here and she put down one of her blankets from their house and then after a while I got itchy and now I have little bumps on top going up my arm by my armpit . I don't know what to do because now they will be in my house. sad

      Wash everything (clothes; floors; chairs; including yourself) with borax. Keep using borax for a couple of weeks.

    Hi ~ 7.1.17

    Thank you for sharing your experience. Are they all gone now?

    I've tried a few of the same things you did in the beginning.

    Well, believe it or not, I've had this crap since August of last year. It's driving me nuts. However, I have never had it as bad as you, nor as bad as others I've seen on the I'net. When it started, I had large, raised mites on my legs from the knees down. Not having a clue to what they were, I was literally digging them out of my skin; it freaked me out (only to have another one take its' place)

    When I went to the dr. I had at the time, she gave me a prescription for Permethrin and Ivermectin. She was furious that I took them out of my skin. Even then, she never once told me what I had.

    The packaging says to put it on from the neck down...what a joke, since I had it on my head, as well. Well, as of this date, I have 14 ~ yes, FOURTEEN (!!) empty boxes of Permethrin. Since I could tell this so-called "doctor" just wanted to make money for the maker of this crap, I changed doctors.

    I still have them, but not even close to being that bad. All I'm doing, though, is keeping them at bay.

    It sounds like you were taking Permethrin and Ivermectin separately. Were you? Both my old and new doctor told me to use them at the same time. The Permethrin cream causes the scabie to leave from below the skin. The Ivermectin pills are to be taken at the time the Perm. is put on the whole body. What that does is make them want to leave through the skin, which they can't do, because of the Permethrin cream. So, one would think that it should take only one time. If only. Also, I would think that a Dermatologist would be able to help get rid of them

    (Over the years, though, I have become convinced that doctors are not trained to cure...just to medicate.)

    Can't remember where I read this, but there is an oil ~ cedar oil, that is supposed to be good for scabies. What's cool about it, is that it's not like regular "oil". It's very light, and once it's on my whole body, I can't even feel it. No more scabies on the head, but they're still on the rest of me, but real tiny. They can't be seen, but I can certainly feel the "prick" feeling of presence.

    Btw ~ that cedar oil is $100.00 per gallon! I don't know how many gallons I've used. Also, I used to put it on my rugs, which got rid of the scabies in those. I've had to literally throw out (and burn - I live in the country where it's okay) my couch that I loved so much. I haven't slept in my Sleep Number bed since July of last year. I was then sleeping in my recliner, but still got hit there...they love fabric!

    Now, I sleep in a comfortable, large, computer chair with my feet on the seat of another chair. How cozy :-(

    I am drying my clothes every time I change clothes. But I got a cool idea a few days ago...I now put clothes that change during the day in a large baggie, into the freezer! Some of my clothes shouldn't be put in the dryer, but I did it anyway (= shrinkage).

    Anyway, I guess I can try the Permethrin and Ivermectin one more time, since it's not so bad.

    I'll be so glad when this is over, so I can have my life back. I can't even get a job, for goodness sake. I am a prisoner in my own home.

    One last thing, I take showers as cold as I can, since they HATE the cold. When I take anything out of the dryer, I make sure that I lay it out to cool off.

    Feel free to respond with maybe suggestions you might have since your last posting.

    Hi Anthony !

    Just read your stored about the scabies and it give s me a little hope in the middle of this nightmare . I've been dealing with this crazy stuff for a month and it's really driving me insane . I'm already on anti- depressive medication . I cry and cry because I feel so drained mentally and physically! So o think I got scabies about 4 months ago but only last month all the symptoms started appearing on my body .Luckily I went to doc and he diagnose right away what it was. I was shocked! So I did 3 tubes of Permethrin. and nothing , 2 more and saw some results but I was still itching . So came back and he prescribed me Ivermectin took 3 pills in only one dose and i have 2 more separately to take . Even tho I do see some results I still see once a while small red bumps (that don't itch) appearing here and there . Every night I cover myself with Tee tree oil and lice lotion with 1% of permethrin ( I can't afford) more now . All the regimen of changing sheets and desinfect everything I've been doing for more than a month . What confuses me is that I see very tiny tiny red spots on my arms. It's doesn't itch but I know is something related to this nightmare . I just notice that I see red small bumps on my face. How long time did it last on your case ? I've been reading lots of forums and people says it takes about 3 or 4 months to get improvements . I'm afraid to meet people and contaminate the others . I don't know if I cans keep up with this for much longer ! Thanks for yours testimony and ave a blessed day !

    I can't get rid of these little "devils". I have taken permethrin and ivermectin 15 times over the last year, and still have the scabies. After a long while, I thought I was making progress. These past couple of times, (within last 2 weeks) they seem to have gotten used to the medication, and now are waging war within me. The ones I have were never like blisters, though. Tnseen bumps under my skin. I also use cedar oil, which doesnt seem to be working anymore, either ($100.00 for 1 gallon)

    For some reason, I still have 4 ivermectin pills. I will give these a try by themselves. To be continued...

    Hi anthony02031 ~ I'm sending this to let others know that when I read the sentence of yours ~ "Ivermectin worked for me.", I knew I had to try it. I have used Permethrin with Ivermectin at least 15 times over this past year...seriously. It got better at times, but never healed completely. Through this past year, I've had to burn my beautiful couch (I live in the country where is allowed to burn stuff), due to these things living in it, haven't been able to sleep in my bed for a year, for the same reason, and am now sleeping on a computer chair, with my legs on another computer across from me..

    BUT, when I saw that sentence, I was moved deeply to try it. I went to my doctor to see if she would write me 6 weekly prescriptions for Ivermectin. I was so elated when she did it! So, after the first one, it felt really nice not to feel the "ping" (what I call it when I can feel the "bite"wink, for one day. But then, I thought it was getting worse, because I had some "newbies" on my chest. I was so concerned. But, within a few days, most of them appeared to be dead. So, today, I took the Ivermectin again, and I think as the weeks go on, it will be totally gone. I really don't think I will need all of the Ivermectin, but we'll see. I am cautiously optimistic. Hopefully, I will be following this up with the same result you got. Thank you so very much Anthony for your help. Until later...

    NEVER, EVER, USE WARM OR HOT WATER!!! They thrive in this environment.

    Use the coldest water you possibly can. Warmth makes them feel nice and cozy.

    Hi. I'm facing the exact same story. 2 weeks ago I went to Mexico and bought Ivermectin pills, although I still didn't use them. Currently, after using all kind of lotions (permitherin, sulfur salycil, eurax, etc) my body is fully healed. The problem is that it came back 3 times since it started about 5 months ago. My scalp itches and I think that it keeps spreading from my head to the rest of my body every time. Although I did put these creams on my head and face (especially forehead where I saw bumps).

    Now I'm seriously considering taking the Ivermectin pills...

    How did you take it? Did you have any side effects? I'm a bit worried about this pill...

    Thanks in advance!

      Also- did you just take the Ivermectin? Or did you combine it using a permitherin cream?
