    Hello

i completely agree about Biofilms - and taking d-mannose. AND High doses for a prolonged period, it is not harmful.

With what you have been and are experiencing ....I would sincerely and highly recommend you speak to Sweetcures. On their website Read Annas story...You can google this. She is SO knowledgeable...AND a Good, Pure, no additives D-Mannose is vital.

    Good Luck

    Good Luck

    HI

I don't know if your symptoms disappeared but i had the same problem -recurring cystitis, being in pain  and having burning feeling even though the infection was cleared. I ve been to many specialists and at the end it turned out it is an ureaplasma infection which was causing the cystitis . So i will recommend testing yourself for that. If possitive you and your partner should be on  antibiotic course. Hope i will help because i know what is it like to be in pain all the time

I have been tested many times but it's not ureaplasma. It's the ecoli bacteria that is causing my problem. Thanks for alerting me though.

There is a vaccine  called urmmune only accessible privately at vast expense .If it is registered in Europe & States why cannot we have it here .Or has the corporate taken over?As I have 3 bugs regularly as cannot catheterise too  this could be expensive if not lasting?

I have had bladder problems since I was in diapers.  Usually a couple of infections a year. When I have on going problems the I have to get to a urologist. Don't know if your problem has resolved itself or not.  I gave found that when I have a lot of infections I usually have a kidney stone that needs to go.  Bacteria can get caught on a stone and give you an infections.  If you are not getting answers, Find another Doctor!

I’ve been tested for stones etc but all clear . Still keep getting infections, I’ve just finished another course of antibiotics and was pain free while on them, but within a day of stopping pain is back and still have infection. Really can’t understand why there is nothing that can help when there are so many people suffering.

I’ve had same battle as yours and 2 weeks ago started D-Mannose from Natural Health shop, changed my life. First time in 3 months no infection, no antibiotic, no steroids.

I also take D Mannose but that doesn’t seem to stop it at the moment . It’s so draining as I’m sure you know. I saw s urologist recently and there was nothing wrong with my bladder or urethra, but still I’m plagued with infection after infection. I hope someone soon comes up with an answer . At the moment I’m looking into herbal remedies which was mentioned on this site .

Oh no, poor you. The other one recommended which I haven’t had is Uva Ursi also from health food shops , worth a try x

Thank you for the info .I’ve been reading about D Mannose and I’m going to up my dose to every two hours as suggested for infection and see if that gets rid of it , I’ve only been taking two spoonfuls morning and night and I think that’s for maintaining .

I take an Ura Ursi tablet each morning which I’m sure has helped but wondering if I can up the dose too .

Someone mentioned age and hormones can play a part I definitely think that’s true .

Do you know which infection you get? Mine is the ecoli, and the doctor told me many uti infections are now resistant to antibiotics . The worry is if it travels to the kidney. X

Taking d-mannose for 6 months rid me of a e-col uti where anti b's did not work. The dose you take is absolutely key to this. After the 2 hourly dose, i gradually moved to every 3 hours then 4hours and kept this dose up for many months. Mostly people stop d-mannose after their symptoms subside, is a bad idea to do that. Bio-films are tricky things to dismantle out of the bladder - d-mann will aid this, uva ursi works for some to. Another key thing is to empty the bladder 'completely' it is surprising how we think we have - when in fact there is still some sitting there, a squat position over the loo is a goo thing to try to check if this is what is also happening. Any residue in the bladder is a continuous breeding ground for e-coli. Having adopted the complete emptying and d-mann at night only now i am clear.

Thank you for this , can I ask how long did you take every two hours before going to three hours ? I know it’s expensive to buy but I’ll try anything . X

Every 2 hours a heaped tsp (if taking the powder - or 2 tablets) in 1 inch of water Until my symptoms subsided. Is important when you move to 3hrs to not give up the dose in the night. Night time dose is v important as bacteria proliferates when we are not drinking as we are during the day. It is expensive, but is well worth it.

I take tablets as then I. CAn take them if out and about, of if I feel symptoms coming on

So as soon as your symptoms subside youbstart to reduce your dose ? I know this sounds strange but I can tell mine is infected even before I get symptoms  by the smell. The urine has a very distinct odour when it’s infected , the first time I noticed it was many years ago when I was in my teens . Not sure if this is common . I’ll continue with the two hourly until I notice an improvement.

Hoping I can wake every two hours in the night . I’m recovering from pneumonia and could sleep forever at the moment

yes e-coli uti's do have an odour. It's not about reducing the dose as in amount of pills, just the time between doses. If you are recovering from pneumonia your immune system will be low, so i'd say it is paramount to keep going with d-mannose for a few months. If you sleep thru the 2 hours, just take a dose when you wake up - at least you will still have the DM in your bladder if you are sleeping. It's when we get up to pee, then don't take another DM dose the bacteria proliferation kicks in.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply . I’ll do this , my symptoms are getting better without a doubt there’s still an odour but not as strong . I’ll start doing a dose every three hours once they’re gone completely.

Dyou think I could just take twice a day once I’m symptom free for a few months ?

Please have in mind that taking too much of  D mannose can create diarrhea and extreme stomach bloating as well gas.

Thank you Alex. Though  I’ll gladly accept those compared to the pain of a water infection.  It’s good to know what to expect though , thank you

I’ve only had bloating when I’ve had to take a lot and wind a bit, at the moment I take 1 on morning and 1 on evening and nothing else-miraculous I can’t quite believe it after the last year. When symptoms kick in I take 3 tablets for a couple of days and then ease off. X
