Dates 2015?

Posted , 15 users are following.

Just an idea, I though it might be good if we all added our pre op and op dates on one thread so that we can all see easily who is up for their op next and wish them well smile

I'll start;

My Pre-Op is 15th Jan and my TAH is 29th Jan

Great news Denise, and you are doing so well already! Keep up the good work xx

Kathy and Denise, good to hear you are doing well.  Jacqui , I m also having vaginal hysterectomy and hoping for a quick recovery.  Consultant said this week unless there are any problems I should be fine to go to Majorca eight weeks post op as planned.  What injections are you having?  Just interested as you re having same as me.  I m already organised to have heparin injections  for a few weeks post op as I had a DVT whilst I was immobile for a long time following an accident.

      Hi Clarissabelle

I'm having to do the heparin injections (well, my daughter has been doing them for me at the moment).  I need to do them myself.  Do you do them in your leg or tummy?  I'm just worried that as my tummy is alread sore, these will make things hurt more.  My legs are quite bruised from the injections.

      xx Kathy

Sorry, I see you haven't had your op yet!  I had vaginal but 4 keyholes.  All are healing well and I am not in too much pain at all.  I am really suprised how well I feel.

      xx Kathy

My nurse said I'm unlikely to have to carry on with the Heparin injections once I'm out of hospital, so said I'm fairly low risk for DVT so will only need the sexy stockings at home. I hope she is right as I really feel for all you ladies that have to inject your self xx

Hi Kathy. I ve always had them in my tummy.  Never been sore, just bruises but I ve never had them after this type of surgery.  Mine will be vaginalso I hope I do as well as you.     Claire x

Hi Clarissabelle,  so glad you will be able to have your holiday in Majorca, something to aim for in your recovery.  I have been given Enoxaparin injections to start day before the op, so now I have the injections and no op - they have cancelled all operations at the moment because of the amount of really sick people in the area so are using the surgical wards!  I really feel sorry for the amount of people really very ill in the Norfolk area but I am gutted!  I have never been so ready for an op in my life.  I did all the preparation, my mind, body and soul were shouting 'bring it on' (usually I am a wobbly jelly hiding in the corner!) It seems that we are having the best type of op for a speedy recovery, in the fact the problem seems to be remembering that you have to be careful!  That sounds like a problem I can deal with!  Hope all goes well for you Clarissabelle, keep thinking about that lovely holiday.

      Love

So sorry your op has been cancelled Jacqui.  It's awful when you ve geared yourself up and are  ready in mind and body.  To be honest I ll go wild if they cancel mine.  We re off to Madeira for husbands big birthday on 2 nd Feb, then having the op before we go to Majorca.  BUT. If they cancel I ll have to delay until July as we are also away for three weeks in June .  The dates just won t fit in with all that's planned.   If it was being done for malignancy etc I would obviously go ahead.   Really hope you get a new date very soon .  Keep us posted with any new appointments.       Claire x

      Hi Claire

Thanks Claire,  it does help very much having you all to have a moan and a groan to, I have put all my stuff for the op completely out of the way and am just going to enjoy myself like crazy until I get the call.  The good news is I can get on with my keep fit and Zumba which I was not going to be allowed to do for 3 months minimum, so there is always a bright side.

I really hope your op stays on schedule, you have everything planned out so carefully, they are not allowed to cancel on you.  Fingers crossed for you.

I will let you know if I get a  date.

      Love

      Hi Luisa

Thanks very much, it was a very bitter blow was not expecting it, but I have had a word with myself, dusted off the blues and going to get on with my Zumba (with my bladder's permission of course, Zumba does upset it a bit, but what the hect!) and try and be patient.  They didn't give me any hint when, just said all non emergency ops were off until the sick in the surgical wards get better!  Will let you know if I hear anything.

Hope everything is going fine with you.

      Love

      Hi Karen,

Thanks very much.  You must have been devastated to have your TAH cancelled, such a long wait until the 29th, trouble is your emotions are all in gear aren't they and it is like trying to stop a steam train!  I'll keep everything crossed for you that everything is all set for the 29th and your steam train can go at full speed!

      Love
