Just an idea, I though it might be good if we all added our pre op and op dates on one thread so that we can all see easily who is up for their op next and wish them well smile

I'll start;

My Pre-Op is 15th Jan and my TAH is 29th Jan

    hi i am 9 weeks post op from abdomial hysterectomy kept both ovaries. had op on the 11th november 2014. I am doing alot better. GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO IS HAVING THE BIG OP!

    Being spoiled this weekend, my hubby took me out for afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco at the Hilton Hotel in Warwick this afternoon as a pre op treat, it was lovely and now I'm sat enjoying a glass of wine with loads of smelly candles burning in my hearth, might even crack open the bottle of Champagne that didn't get drank over Christmas later smile xx

    Had pre op 9.1.15 with a view to having op 19.1.15, was drying my hair at 9.30am on 19.1.15 getting myself all ready for hospital when phone rang and my op had been cancelled with only 2 hours to go to my admission time, didn't know whether to be annoyed or say phew lucky escape lol. Got new date of 3.2.15 which again has been cancelled and now have a newer date of 13.2.15 (Friday the 13th GREAT). Lets see if it happens this time or not. Peterborough hospital is having loads of problems and has shut its doors to admissions, now worried thinking do i really want my op and recovery to be in a hospital that is soooo short staffed and having all these problems so tried to postpone for a while and they wouldn't let me lol.

      Oh no, your emotions must have been all over the place, how awful for you! I sincerely hope that it's third time lucky for you and that you will be given the best care possible after the op too xx

      So, so sorry you have been cancelled out, and now Friday the 13th!  Still can be lucky for some.  It seems Norfolk is having the worst of the illnesses taking over the surgical wards.  Mine has been cancelled indefinitely at the moment, the Queen Elizabeth, Kings Lynn is full to the brim with the sick!  Funnily enough some of my neighbours are in there (I live on a retirement complex) and I keep telling them they are taking up a bed with my name on it!  

      Hang on in there, spring is on the way and everyone should recover and we will get the surgical wards back for us.

      So sorry you ve been cancelled again and can understand how you feel.  I ve also been asking myself do I really want this done.  My op is booked for 24 th Feb.  Try and relax and enjoy your reprieve.  Not long until 13th and hopefully all will go to plan then.        Claire  x
