Hi delkie,I am 13 weeks post op today! And even now my hip doesn't feel right! I am having reflexology and am starting swimming gently next week! Then I will have a spa from time to time! We have had a major op! And it can take 6 to 12months to get back to normal! I am also a carer so am always on the go! Anyway good luck! Regards Amanda

Mine was the 24th April I'm still sitting on cushions . My lower back muscles in the pelvis area hurt and get quite achy. I think there are some muscles there that connect to the leg so have probably had a bit of trauma from the op.  Mine also occasionally hurt before the op. Like you though I didn't notice them the first few weeks after the op. I think it is because I am now doing more and so they are suffering the strainn along side nowhere near as many painkillers!

    Hi

I think this is just the internal swelling and bruising, I feel the same only I described it as a cricket ball!

Had my 6 week check today, no X-ray either but surgeon happy with progress and all restrictions lifted.

    Good luck

I can feel my hip clicking when I walk and my thigh and ankle are still swollen especially at night, I also find the scar and muscle sometimes sting. I still can't walk very far and get very tired easily and the other thing I find 2.30am I am wide awake all I can say is I take pain killers and my Amazon kindle tablet has been a life saver

Well I hope by 13 weeks I will be able to have reflexology I can't swim so swimming is out for me lol, my surgeon is of the old school the best exercise is walking so I try to walk around as much as I can. You must think we are all having a moan but it is nice to have a forum to be able relate to each other how they are feeling so peeps if any one wants to to have a chat about their aches and pains I am very happy to listen and to give tips

I think everyone realises they have had a major operation and their body has been subjected to a major trauma.  The forum is really helpful and it is good to know symptoms we may be experiencing following the operation aren't unusual and to be expected.

Hi Marilyn, I don't think your having a moan at all! It's just that I suffer from anxiety as well so the gentle swimming route and reflexology route is the one for me! I am also a carer for my disabled hubby! So not easy for me! We are all at different levels of recovery! As I was so tight to start with this has not helped with my replacement! I fear I might have to have my left hip done! But we will see what happens! Regards Amanda

    Hi Delkie,

i will be 16 weeks on Friday and I'm doing well I think. I walk unaided and sleep on my sides and have started Pilates classes and go to the gym. But I also feel "something" in my side buttock (if that makes sense). It's not always there and feels worse when I'm tired. I asumed it was the muscles and tendons etc coming together to start the healing process.
