Diagnosed with sinusitis, fluid in ear and infected dental carries!

Hi! everyone.
On April 28th, I finally went to see an ENT. He suspected that I may have chronic sinusitis. Ordered a CT scan to be sure. The following day I felt so weak and sick, I had to go to the hospital. They performed a blood test, urine test and CT scan of my sinuses. The doctor said he saw fluid in my ear, infected dental carries and I have sinusitis. I was prescribed five different medications (augmentin, flonase, prednisone, loratadine and zofran). I finished the antibiotics on Sunday, yet I still feel really bad. The facial pain and weakness is not going away. I'm at a loss at what to do. I can't see a dentist in such a weakened state. I don't think I could tolerate anything being done to my teeth until I get my strength back.
Infected sinuses, teeth and ears! What a nightmare! Does anyone out there have problems like this? Don't know what to do. So tired of feeling so very sick.

Hi,
like you I have had fairly difficult number of weeks, what I think is key is make sure you drink lots of water, try and I know that this is very difficult as you have family demands, take a 30 min walk regularly ideally on your own in fresh air, i'll forward you the name of the solution that I used on my nose and I feel that it was this one that helped. DONT scan the internet for serious illnesses sharing your symptoms! try also to take details what may affect you , eg dust, strong smells and do not subject your nose to these, I'm feeling better , but not fully yet, but if I can be of any help, do not hesitate, this isan aweful condition, wishing you well.

Dear Kim, Eamon, Susan and everyone else who took time to post on this thread!
I am hoping that you all have found solutions. I would be interested to hear which things you tried were sucessful.
I will go to the dentist too. I was just there a few months ago and nothing was wrong.
I am waiting to take the antibiotics that I just got at the urgent care to see if I can rid this sinus infection or ??? alone.
Someone posted the following things I will read about:
mylagic encephloyelis
Also nasal fatigue reflex- also no idea what this is yet
candida, oral thrush
Serrapetase- there is info about this on Wed MD- not sure where to buy it yet. Need to read more about side effects- It said anti-blood clotting...
So, I have had this lower jaw pain for almost 3 weeks. No nasal discharge no phlem. No ear infection- I was at the doctor tonight. It is really weird group of symptoms.
I have lower jaw pain up to my ear and am interested in doing reading about dysfuntional lateral pterygoid that Susan posted.
It started as jaw pain and now a upper jaw pain and now ear pain what feels like a bit of a sinus infection or a cold in between my eyebrows. Now a bit dizzy but zero discharge. (Maybe I am getting a cold on top of the jaw situation.)
I have zero discharge and she suggested a CT scan to make sure it is not Sjogren's Syndrome (I also read it could be a stone.)
Good luck to everyone! I would love to hear if people found solutions!
God Bless you!
S

Serrapeptase is a chemical taken from the silkworm. It is a commonly used drug (Takeda Chemical Industries) in Japan and Europe. In the U.S., serrapeptase is classified as a dietary supplement.
Serrapeptase is used for painful conditions including back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, carpel tunnel syndrome, migraine headache, and tension headache.
It is also used for conditions that involve pain and swelling (inflammation) including sinusitis, laryngitis, sore throat, ear infections, swelling after surgery, swelling of a vein with the formation of a blood clot (thrombophlebitis), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
Some people use serrapeptase for heart disease and “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis).
Women use it for non-cancerous lumpy breasts (fibrocystic breast disease), and nursing mothers use it for breast pain caused by too much milk (breast engorgement).
Other uses include treatment of diabetes, leg ulcers, asthma, and pus accumulation (empyema).
How does it work?
Serrapeptase helps the body break down protein. This might help decrease inflammation and mucous.

Awful. I get this every few months. My Dr and dentist prescribe antibiotics too when it's very bad, but then my Dr prescribed amitryptiline for nerve pain as it's all to do with a Nasal spur. I'm on the waiting list for an op for that but when knows if it will cure me?
I take solpadeine max for the pain, everyday, not goid I know but I have no choice, the headaches are bad and every few months the teeth (upper molars) start if I've got a cold usually. One upper molar was even removed because if this!!!
Bane of my life.
Do the antibiotics not give you any relief?
Sorry if this has been no help, it's awful isn't it?

Hi , its good to feel that you arent alone with this , many people understand how aweful this , I have it faiirly bad this morning, but Im going for a walk to get fresh air and Im going to force myself to exercise later and drink plenty of water, I've little faith in the medics now as everything ends up with some form of antibiotic,
Try to take your own life back and try to stay busy, its very hard but otherwise you really could end up with panic attacks or depression,
dear all keep communicating with each other, because when i explain my symptoms, medics look at me as though Im crazy!

I'm not a Dr but I would recommend you both to take vitamin C and ecanachia. When u have infections even allergies your body is constantly fighting and lowers your immune system. My husband had bad allergies and was always dragging my Dr a nutritional Dr.told me this and it helped him alot. Also wanted to ask when you say water in your ear does it sound like your under water? My husband been complaining of this the last year and I think it's affecting his hearing, which I had chalked up to loud music. Hard to get him into a Dr but sounds like he needs to.

Hi Kimmy,
the cause of my headaches , earaches facial pain was directly related to a middle ear problem, I'm fairly sure about this as I had an operation on May 10th,
I had an mri on my ears and sinuses, and the whole way along I had terrible headaches, face aches , pain across my eyebrow area, ears , and I really did not find much help from my local physician, the effects had me quite depressed, the consultant was wonderful, she diagnosed the problem , its actual term was a cholesteatoma, its a benign build up of infectiion/skins cells that do plenty of nasty things in there, but its completely treatable, you will find out what it is after your CT scan, but definitely have them rule this out.
My symptoms have included 'as above' plus ear popping, discharge from my ear and a slight nasal drip.
I know that this type of illness leaves you completely debilated, but try to keep fluids up, take exercise and talk to others through forums, as healthy peolple really dont get how bad this gets and how isolated that you feel.
Any I advise that I can give, I'm happy to provide , get getter soon and the best of luck with this illness,
best regards,
Chris

I am experiencing similar now myself, started with teeth hurting real bad, I think wisdom, then left eye pressure, then left ear pain, then left shoulder and arm feels weak with discomfort. Hoping I get into dentist later today, otherwise going out to e.r, been going on for 6 weeks now. Bee taking Motrin and acetaminophen alternating the 800mg every 6 hrs to dull the pain. Plus I am diabetic. So I don't know if that's contributing to because my sugar still runs high. But will see later today what happens hooefully

I've read this entire thread and want to share the following in hopes that someone may have an answer for me, or that I may help someone else.
I've had sinus infections for 25 years. Had two sinus surgeries, the first 20 years ago to remove polyps and the second (the revision,) three years ago to correct a deviated septum, remove more polyps, and have the ethmoid sinuses opened up. I also had a balloon-plasty done.
For the past nine months I've had repeated sinus infections. These have been my consistent symptoms over the years:
Sinus pain and pressure below, in between, and above the eyes
Hot, red patches on skin below eyes
Swollen face
Feverish, sweating feeling, although no actual temperature, sometimes also chills
Increased heart rate (as my body tries to fight off the infection)
Hawking up (comes from my nose, which I bring into my throat) thick white or yellow mucous
Wake up every morning chocking on my own flem
Fatigue
Sometimes nausea
I've been to three ENT doctors recently, and all of them say I have no sign of infection as the CT scan shows nothing - only a slight inflammation. I've had two cultures done and sent to specialty labs but nothing shows up. Fungal test came up negative.
I'm in bed almost 24/7.
I've been on several antibiotics including Levaquin, done three rounds of Prednisone including Medtrol, I've used an electric Netti-pot/sinus irrigator for years, currently also doing a steroid rinse in the irrigator, take daily Acidophilis, take anti-stomach reflux medication and antifungal medication. Also tried Mupirocin ointment into the nose. Flonase spray.
I've tried Acupuncture, Golden Seal, and vitamins.
I've tried EVERYTHING known to man to get rid of this infection which is not showing up on CT scan. Why do I think it's an infection? Because I'm hawking up thick yellow stuff, that's why.
I have a history of Lyme disease and was on antibiotics for twenty years but been off of Lyme antibiotics for six years as no current Lyme symptoms. None of the doctors know of a connection between the two condition, (Lyme and sinusitis) and my Lyme doc is $3000 to see him so that's not an option at present.
The pain is so bad that without opiate pain relievers I wouldn't be able to handle it.
I'm supposed to have major orthopedic surgery in a month and don't know what to do.
I will go to a dentist and have my teeth X-rayed to see if I have a teeth infection even though I've never had a root canal done.
I'm TRULY desperate to get better. The worst symptoms are the pain and the feverish feeling.
Please help me if you can.
God bless all my fellow sinus-sufferers.

I have similar problems. For the most part it goes away when I'm in a hot drier climate.. I currently reside in the rainy state of Washington and season change effects me with a climitized vertigo ..nibbling on a piece of ginger root throughout the day makes me stable enough to get thru the work day. Also Bragg's raw unfiltered apple cider in my water balances me out.. I have a naturopath that uses his finger to poke the back of my throat to open up my middle ear.
