The diarrhea never went away, initially I had 5-7 BM a day, now its down to 1-2 but are very soft. Everything I eat comes out completely undigested, I ate a bowl of blueberries that came out exactly the same as they went in. I also have a gnawing feeling in stomach,  excessive burping, belching when stomach is empty. Everything my doctor did/tested for:

Colonoscopy -unremarkable

Endoscopy - gastritis

C Diff- negative

H pylori - negative

Ova and parasites -negative

Giardia - negative

Stronglyoids - negative

Hepatits (Hep A came back BORDERLINE)

Celiacs - negative

Chrons- negative

Please does anyone have any ideas??? IM SUFFERING. I need to go to work/ school. I had to do a medical leave from college, and lost my job. Month 6 already and I can’t take it anymore.

Forgot to add High WBC and liver enzymes. Normal WBC as of a month and a half ago. Liver enzymes remain high. Dr diagnosed me with fatty liver and post-infectious IBS.

Hi there, when you mentioned liver enzymes elevated like both AST and ALT? I had elevated ALT and i just had my LFT’s lab earlier to determine if it’s still high or not. I’m experiencing loose stools as of late..was your stool yellowish color? If don’t mind asking.

Yeah AST ALT are elevated. Yes, sometimes it's pale yellow, but most of the time no.

DR says its just fatty liver. Catscan and MRI revealed nothing

Fatty liver, have your dr told you how to reverse it? Are you a heavy  drinker? You’re negative for all Hepa test correct?

I don’t drink, dont drugs, don’t smoke. Hep A results came back “Borderline”.

Hi, i just got my LFT result and sadly it came out more higher this time after 5months. How long had your liver enzymes high? And every when have they been checking it?

Hey there, yeah i’ve had lab/bloodworks specifically only for hepatitis and results are negative. I don’t know if autoimmune hep is included on it already? Last year October my LFT’s are normal and now all of a sudden it sky rocket, well mainly my ALT. My ultrasound’s negative, except it showed gallstones. So idk what’s going on to myself as well. My diarrhea/loose stools kinda just subsided today so a little relief to that part..how bout you how you feeling? Hope everything’s well, including others here.

Follow up question again regarding your LFT’s. Was it a steady high levels? Prior to your first Bloodworks?

Thanks for asking. I’m doing better actually, I started drinking Kefir which is supposed to have probiotics and no more diarrhea for 3 days now! Not sure why the OTC probiotics did not work but Im just happy Im finally getting relief after months. Anyway,  I would to talk to your doctor and ask him if he specifically checked for autoimmune hep, it really sounds like you may have it. My doctor also said he would check for all hepatitis, but he didn’t check for autoimmune hep. Still waiting on results.  As for your other question regarding LFT’s, they have been steadily high even before I became symptomatic.

That’s good to know that you’re feeling better! I actually been drinking Yakult a small probiotic drink since 2days ago and i think it’s giving me relief on my bowel problrms lately. So they’re monitoring your LFT’s basically every month huh? Have you asked your dr about any herbal supplements for it? I am planning to take Milk Thistle see if it’ll work along with healthy diet, and regular exercise. See if it will make my levels lower..

Just a simple suggestion, take flora 50 billion critical care probiotic...give it a couple of weeks to start showing results.   Also could be bile acid get scrip for  cholestraymine...I had same problem..took 1 box of cholestraymine first and there was a change but probiotic worked.  Been 6 months never came back, eat anything...try it won’t hurt you...my doctor said he didn’t think it would work but viola!   Gone.....

Hm Ive tried probiotics and they helped a little bit, but they were 500 million. I’ll try the stronger ones. Thanks for the suggestion.

Gastritis seems to be one of your problems since your endoscopy showed this.  Some of your symptoms sound related to that.  Do you have stomach that moves about?   IBS may be another of your problems since you have change of bowel habit and are not absorbing certain foods well.  Your gut flora may be disturbed after the antibiotics.   Try probiotics or yoghurt to see if that helps.

My stomach gives me all kinds of discomfort, but my doctor said gastritis doesn’t cause diarrhea . Ive tried probiotics but they didn’t do much. Ill buy some bettee quality ones and see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

It is possible to have both gastritis and IBS.  Maybe try an antispasmodic such as buscopan and imoduim for the diarrhoea.

Immodium/pepto/bentyl never worked for me. I just started drinking kefir, and finally stool is starting to become more formed/solid. It’s still not 100% but its a big improvement. Stomah pain is not as bad either. Would you have an  idea on why it’s working?

Some people respond well to probiotics which are good for boosting gut flora.
