Disabled, has this "disabled" your self worth?

Hi, once again, I'm interested in those who are 'disabled' either by a disease or physically, if it's left you feeling a low of self-worth?  And, if so, have you found ways to distract those ideas?  If you feel comfortable enough, would you kindly share with us your experience that left you disabled?

I find myself thinking more and more about what I'm going to do when I can't afford my meds, or if something happens to my husband, what would become of me. I have a spinal condition that is getting to the point that showering can be difficult for me. What is going to happen when I can't do even that on my own.

I've found that some people can see my  cane but can't see my face .  This is especially true of men l ( I'm a woman). It's like the cane exists. And I do not. When I attempt a little pleasant flirt they look horrified at. They look fixedly at My cane  and take on a scuttle shuffle walk as they rush away.  It's odd.

Ill never get used to this hell either. Tough break. Life!

    Hello.

Disability has definitely left me with a low self-esteem.

four years ago I contracted a disease called necrotizing fasciitis which led the doctors to amputate my dominant right arm just below the shoulder and both my legs above the knees.

Then two years later I had a brain stroke which took away my ability to hear and speak as well.

Just four years ago I had a completely functional body and now I am left with just my left arm and my eyes.

It has completely broken my spirit.
