Diverticula Dismissal

Posted , 5 users are following.

I think that i have just had the shortest appointment time with a doctor.ever

Four minutes max. Told I had severe Diverticula Disease, to eat a high

fibre diet, ,and to look on the inter net if I wanted any more information, then  he was out of the door, and that was it ,,except for a parting shot

delivered in the corridor ""to come back if I had  it again"

Who do I now ask my shed load of questions ? Oh yes    The Internet.

Silly me, to think that anyone cared  !!!!!!

We are Gurus because (in my case I am older and wiser) and, because we (at least I try) to not venture into Fairy Land.  Consultants (or Specialists as they used to be knowm before they became so overpaid) are the only people who can make major decisions.  GP's can diagnose (ha ha - and get another £50 for each dementia patient they diagnose.) The govt. are raving mad.  No money to employ my eldest son with a 1st class degree and who was made redundant 2 years ago!  I thought that that was there purpose in life - to diagnose).  Been doing the pills, prescribe by you and dispensed by H&B.  Will keep you posted. Early days.

This machine has taken the hump AGAIN ,and is showing your mails

as read ,will have to trawlthhrrough them all

Your answer to the Guru bit is NOT acceptable . WE have been made into them by persons unknown, I just wanted to know why . Did I tell

you that I have stopped taking all prescribed meds, and have not

dropped dead, or suffered any side effects, apart from feeling VERY

      WELL.

How many days have you been doing the H&B ??

Jac. It's because WE know what we are talking about.  Those people with FairyLand ideas have placed us as Guru's for that reason.  Proves the meds. were crap then? Never trusted Mebereine or Buscopan (which was all I was ever prescribed. Had no effect  at all) Been with the H&B for 3 days.  I imagine it takes a while to get the full effects?

    Hope you 'well feeling' continues.

Wanted to ask you .but remembered when  had pressed the "send "

      button .

Was the doctor  on the ball when you had your first Divi attack. or did

it take a while before he found out what it was ? Was D.D as rife 30

years ago as it seems to be now?, and has the treatment, or lack of it

      remained the same (nothing)!!

No, Jac it's always been rife.  I remember a Welfare Officer (in the Dept. of the Environemt) once telling me that he was going to visit a member of staff who was having continual bouts of Diverticulitis .  I had no idea of wat it was then.

From memory, I think my GP (who I knew as a girl! - she lived next door our very close friends) examine my lower abdomen - suspected something - and, very properly referred me to Helen Chave, my Consultant.  Those were the days.  No farting around.

If it's possible ,even normal these days  to seal a stomach, why isn't it

possible to seal the entrance to a pouch, or at least put a lid on it

I can't believe that no one has given any thought to this seemingly

      easy answer

Yes, Jac.  As must I .  We are car-less at the moment.  Gone into a Volvo specialist for 'something or other'  Good job we have a 'bus pass!

Hi,I was sent to hospital with bleeding as my gp thought it maybe cancer,i saw a consultent and he had me do a camera job,i have had two now plus a ct scan,i had a really bad flair up weeks after and my gp had me hospitalised that day,i was in for nine days,i see my consultant every three months,i am on steroids and pentasa granuels which are a great help,i am due to see him in May and i will have been off steroids for a month.im not very good without these steroids, its trial and error my consultant says,he says there are other medications but they have more side effects than steroids,My doctors practice has quite a few doctors there so you can get to see one of them if you phone at 8am,you can always see the emergency doctor,Its not very often you see th doctor your registered with, the only time you can have an appointment in advance is when the doctor allows it.depending on which of the Gremlins (who think they are doctors)that man the reception you may get a choice of a couple of the doctors, all in all i am very satisfied with the service i have, good luck Jacqui and i would do a bit more insisting if i were you.

Oh Daisy, I am SOOOOOOOO sorry you are having such an awful time.

What nasty drugs you are on. Are you not getting better at all?? After two camera visits, why can't they decide how best to treat you.

Touch wood I have not had any probs since I started taking probiotic

tabs last August. But I do miss veggies, and other unmentoinables.

can't speak about them, or I start to drool.

      Don't give in Daisy. xx
