Diverticular and Groin Pain

Along with my ongoing abdo pain and diarrhoea I have been getting a horrendous heavy feeling in my pelvic floor area. Sometimes it feels like Ive had a prolapse. Affects my bladder too. Is this a symptom of diverticular? Today I paid to have a virtual colonoscopy as reaching the end of my tether with worry as my nhs date was taking forever. Thought it would be a breeze but how wrong was I! It was horrible. When they pumped the air into me the pain in my groin around my vagina was awful, I honestly thought I was going to vomit. Still painful now and feel like I've been punched in the stomach. Am still hoping to go ahead with my "real colonoscopy but absolutely dreading it now. I dont get my results from todays scope back till about a weeks time. Also I went on another Diverticular forum tonight and they all talk about flare ups which worries me as Ive had the same level of pain and symptoms continually for months. Also a lot of people appear to have been diagnosed without a colonoscopy or ct scan. How is this possible? So fed up and once again worried sick I have something more sinister 😯

So sorry you are nervous about your impending colonoscopy I must say I did not sail through mine as the stuff they gave me to use the day before did not completly empty my bowels, so they had to abandon it after a couple of goes, they then refered me for a scan (dont know why they did not do that in the first place) I was then diagnoised with DV then I had a really bad flare up feeling like I was peeing footballs and after another scan with dye I now find I have also got a fisture between my colon and bladder, which makes me defecate from my bottom and my ureather. I am very overweight and getting on a bit so they will not do surgery as they say I would not wake up after (great ah) so I have been told I have to live with it for how ever long I live maybe 10 years + so have your colooscopy and then jump at the chance of surgery so that you dont go on to get a fisture, I am sure life will be much more plesant for you then

I'm waiting on my first colonoscopy too and I have the same worries.  I'm currently on my 4th round of antibiotics.  I was diagnosed with DIVI by a full torso CT SCAN and had the dye treatment that shows up your bowels and that's when they saw the pockets. I too constantly have a discomfort that's always there straight across my pelvic area. (got it right now) The waiting for the prognosis is almost as bad as the disease.  Stress level is almost a 7 outta 10 right now...

We are in exactly the same position Sunni. Totally agree with you about waiting for diagnosis - takes forever! My Ct colonoscopy on Tuesday has made my abdo pain worse and still got diarrhoea after taking the prep. Do you have a date for your scope yet? ☺

nope..I called and was told I'm still on waiting list and that a letter of confirmation will be sent to me.  My initial appointment was the first of October.  Gastro Doc is supposed to be best in Newfoundland but I don't know....
