Hello Divi Diners, wherever you are.

Was just interested to know if any of you had  "stuffed " your way

through the mountains of tempting food on offer over Christmas, and are

now in pain ,,and regretting  every mouthful. .and looking forward to New Year's bash, with your New Years Resolution already in place "NEVER

AGAIN ""

Seriously though, I do hope none of you ended up in hospital.

and would like to wish all of us ,(me included), a Healthy new year

Own up now ,tell us the truth, who strayed ???frown

No this Christmas has been the most abstemious ever. I learned my lesson last year after after several days of liquid diet in January. The real battle will be New Years Day when we are invited to some French friends for lunch. We ate there on Christmas day a few years ago and I felt like death warmed up on Boxing Day. I realised that the "crise de foie" that people moan about here is not an imaginary illness as English docs make out.

Hello Madge ,nice to hear from you  you are obviously taking care

      of your pouches.

Maybe it would be interesting to know if any "doctors " suffer from

Divi. if there are any, they are keeping it to themselves .

I have been better since taking the probiotics. I have not had anything other than mild twinges since the end of July. My gastro consultant wants to cut 15 cm out of my colon and assures me that with my combo of pouches and horrendous (her word) adhesions I will not be lucky forever. But then the business of surgeons is cutting people up.

The probiotic find has been a real god send . even though I had that

exploding abcess, fortunately I did not end up in theatre, and my

consultant , sent me for another colonoscopy, He said that there was

nothing sinister hanging around. so he just sent me a letter telling me

      to carry on. Sacked !!!!!

I would be a bit skittish about surgery. but then ,I'm a wuss ,having had some careless  ops, with the learners being allowed to practice on me

No chance of that here. I am sure that in UK I would not have been hospitalised for my first attack as I had no complications according to the CT scan. I think I would have been sent home with the antibiotics and told to stay on liquid diet rather than been allowed to occupy a precious hospital bed for SIX days! I am also skittish about surgery given that the adhesions from my hysterectomy are magnifying the divvi problem and I cannot see that further abdo surgery will not result in more adhesions.

Pity they can't stop the adhesions from growing on scar tissue.

Wait and see Job for you then Madge

    In my defence......

I had my first attack in November so am still working out what not to do...

surfice to say I am a little more aware now ...unfortunately ...

Stay  well everyone ...and if you are not well at the moment..

    speedy recovery.

AH  julie ,,speed does not register in the divi dictionary, caution,

and pain ,figure quite high on the list.  Food enjoyment is at the bottom. You will obviously be  in cautious mode, with what you dare eat .

Lots of us to give you guidance in THAT department

I had a chest infection on top of my fistula and divictula, so not a good christmas. I am still finding out what I can or can't eat so as not to cause myself problems (I dont think the nutty popcorn I ate over xmas is too good for you LOL) Like everyone else I will just have to grin and bear it!

Hi, denise, don't know who tempted you with the popcorn (bad Santa)

Hope it's gone through O.K exclaim

Sounds as if  you have been collecting awfulls . Iv'e had a bad time with one eye. four clinic visits ,and one consultant, and four different reasons It took a technician to find there was a ""foreign Body "

causing the mega pain, and streaming eye

I was soooooooooooo careful what I ate ,don't laugh, but I had a

chicken sandwich on xmas day, and a prawn sandwich on Boxing

day. I really could do with a healthy  new year  , not too much to

ask. Hope you are doing good now, just remember the divi pain, it

certainly stops me from having anything that I used to enjoy.

Oh you little devil you! A prawn AND a chicken sandwich, you have pushed the boat out, you sure you were not just a little naughty and have something you should not have had?

I feel as if I have been left out on a limb after my tests and diagnoisis I was told I was too fat to operate on as I would not survive the op and given some anti biotics no other refferals and no dietry advice. We are supposed to have one of the best health services in the world in England but Ive seen no proof of this! Have a Happy and Healthy New year Jacqueline01135

Well denise ,we have to get you on the probiotics .they kill most of

the bad bugs and should keep you fairly pain free.

how come you aren't losing weight ???? Divi is the best diet to be on,

      because we daren't eat anything.

I was determined not to give my divi any excuse to flare over xmas,

that's why I refrained from eating. I bet my pouches were waiting

desperately for something to fall in. Tough  cheesygrin

Thank you for the happy doo daa, if it's only 10% better than last

year it will be good . Same to you  as well

      xx

Hello Denise, just thought I would check up on you,and the popcorn

episode. Tried to access the Divi Diners forum ,but it seems to have

been deleted altogether ,there was some good advice on it, that

might have helped your BAD scoffing  frown

      So,how are you really.???

No wonder I can't find Divi Diners It's been removed from the Forums

list. What a shame .all that information gone, what a waste, a lot of

really useful info on there from people who helped lots. Makes me

      wonder why we bother

Be nice to know who deleted it and particularly why. It was good to refer back to
