Dizziness

im back!! havent been on this forum for a while as things have been going really well.

just wondering if anyone else that suffers with anxiety & takes citalopram for it ever suffers with dizziness? ive been on the drug for years & have always struggled with dizziness. im really starting to worry theres something wrong in my head & thats why im dizzy rather than the drug itself. its kind of like a spaced out feeling rather than the room spinning.

as soon as i have a dizzy spell it sets off my anxiety. anyone else experience this?

thanks

    Laura,

I feel exactly the same way! Your story is just like mine. I am really wondering if it has been the citalopram that has been causing my dizziness this whole time. I'm very sensitive to medication, so maybe 10 mg is just too much for me, as I have tried to go higher and it has not helped the dizziness and it came along with a lot more side effects . I always feel drugged or like a hang over woozy feeling , dizzy odd feeling . I feel this the most within about two hours after I take my tablet, but I can feel it starting not too long after I take it. it is just at its worst it seems within a couple hours or so. I have a friend who takes it for anxiety and she only takes 5 mg and it works for her. Have you found any remedy to any of this?

dizziness is definitely a side effect of the medication and it is also a symptom of anxiety… As I'm looking back through many many years, I see that I have suffered these woozy, dizzy, drunk feelings off and on for years..... just seems to be getting worse the last few years, but I think that may be the problem is that I am not taking enough medication… Before I was thinking, I was taking too much. But the more I read, and the more I study about anxiety I see how this can be a symptom of anxiety, and just the way that my body shows it. Such a frustrating process trying to figure out what is what isnt it.?
