Dizziness as Worst Symptom

Posted , 9 users are following.

Does anyone else have dizziness as their worst symptom? I suffer from constant lightheadedness and bad balance issues, plus a host of other issues (slurred speech, brain forg, strong head pulse). I just wanted to see if anyone else had dizziness as their worst symptom and what they are doing to try and deal with it. Thank you.

    Hi.

I also suffer dizziness and sometimes it is quite bad and can be the most prominent symptom of the day/week/period of time but other times it is minimal and least bothersome than other symptoms and I suspect for me it is just one of the many annoying things that occur with this illness given that it varies so - as do many other of the symptoms.

Saying this - there are many conditions which can cause dizziness or which dizziness is a symptom, so should always be reported to your GP for investigation. It depends on the type of dizziness and although it's not always easy to describe have a think about how it is. Do you get it in waves when you move your head or bend over? Is it constant even when you are still? Does the floor seem to tilt when you walk about? If it occurs with head movement it could well be an ear problem. Check out 'benign paroxysmal positional vertigo' and the vestibular disorders association website has information on many inner ear disorders.

I'm afraid I can offer no advice about how to cope with it but hope you find some relief from it soon.

Your entry made me think. I think  your right, I take 10mg AMITRIPTYLINE before I go to bed. It seems to last a lot longer than I thought. So is it the tablet making me dizzy during the morning or would it be there anyway, Answering my own question some days I am dizzy all day. So once again does the tablet last even longer some days. But I do agree the dizzy spells are the worst.
