Dizziness caused by acid reflux

I was pleased to find this site as 4 months ago I was gong to the gym most days of the week. I am 61 years old but consider myself to be relatively fit. In may of this year I developed a spit and continually wanted to clear my throat .

I have had an MRI scan, Cat scan andchest/lung Xrays, all of which were clear. I have experienced lots of the symtoms contributore to the site talk about. Back pain, shoulder pain, breathlessness, hoarsness ,buzzing in my head tiredness and most scary of all lightheadedness which makes me feel as if I'm going to faint. I have seen two ENT consultants the latter of whom said that a virus was causing too much acid being produced in my stomach and has prescribed two 20mg doses of Opemrazole daily. I have taken great comfort form the discussions on this site but I am particularly interested if anyone has experienced the lightheadedness/ dizziness and ringing in the head.

That's what I'm also feeling. I have this GERD or acid reflux for 4yrs now but I haven't really done endoscopy because I'm scared. I just keep taking this omeprazole medicine. What I usually feel everytime I have this are, I feel palpitation, shortness in breath, back pain, chest pain, nervous, dizziness/lightheadedness, loss of appetite , muscle fatigue and nausea. And I'm really afraid because I always think that I'm having heart problems but all my laboratory is fine. I've been to a lots of doctor but same prescription and conclusion. So I really don't know what to do.

i am a journalist so its my job to research and read and know the full facts.

    heres what i know -

my stomach is not happy, hernia and eosophogitus (spelt wrong) and acid reflux - most mornings i feel punched in stomach and winded and cough up white slime.

my neck c5/6 and small t8 mid back are not good either and my back generally feels old and tired and worn and stiff and crunchy.

these TWO issues must be causing my extreme fatigue and more importantly my dreamy, dizzy, drunk HIGH feeling i have - THIS is my main symptom complaint apart from numb cold hands and feet.

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has found any cures/things that help. I am only 18 and have had dizziness/lightheadedness, chest pains and loads of these other symptoms etc for over a year now.

Vomited a lot of blood recently and doctors found i have a sliding hiatal hernia. The dizziness is my main issue and i am just wondering if anyone knows what causes this/how to help.

Yes I too have acid reflux and have been having frequent bouts of nausea and light headedness.. also because of this I am often off my food causing me to lose a stone in weight. I have recently been diagnosed with a gall stone so I think it maybe all connected I am also going to have an endoscopy on Thursday to check my oesophagus out

weebee your symptoms are quite identical to mine.

I have a sliding hiatus hernia and erosive gastritis. that flare up really bad about 2-3 times per year and can last for weeks at a time.

I know when I'm about to get a flare up as I get the dizziness/light-headed feeling and I get a heartbeat noise in my ear.

I also get severe pressure type migraine headaches and a feeling of nausea. I find if I drink a few glasses of cooled boiled water it helps to break up the acid in my stomach .

I also get hot and cold flashes and weak arms and legs .. also neck and shoulder pain and abdominal bloating.

it makes me feel really unwell and unable to function as my vision becomes weird.

I'm thinking these are gastric migraines causing aura which explains the dizziness.

I've had hpylori twice in the past which can also cause these symptoms. maybe that is what the doctor is referring to when he says you have a stomach virus.
