dizziness, headaches, vision problems - help!

This is my first post, I've never used a website like this before, I really feel like I need some help and advice. I have read a few discussions on here but would really like some feedback of my own.

For the past 8 months I have been suffering from dizziness, slow going at first and was manageable, but I am worried that it was a warning sign as things are getting worse.

When it first started I would get random dizzy attacks when moving my head (feel like the room around me was spinning or I was still moving when I wasnt) I went to the doctors and he explained it could be from my operation and my body getting over the anaesthetic, just a keyhole op to take appendix out. He recommended I wait and if it didn't improve within a month then to go back. I returned a month later as the symptoms hadn't improved and was put on some antibiotics to "relieve" the symptoms. When this didn't work I again returned only to be given a higher dose of them for a further month . I was then told to wait yet another month without them in the hope it would relieve the dizziness completely.

Then it started to get worse. My vision has changed and not become as clear almost a bit cloudy and I see flashing lights sometimes, I have had my eyes tested and even been to the hospital for a detailed eye examination -nothing. Then around 4 weeks ago I began getting migraines with aura and have had one a week since it started and the dizziness has become constant. I notice it really bad when I am still and concentrating and it feels as if everything around me is moving and also when I move then stand still a wave of dizziness comes over me and completely throws me off balance almost as if the ground is moving , I never fall but always feel like I am going to. I returned to the doctors last and have now been asked to get blood tests which are in 2 weeks ad have been referred to a neurologist which I have been told can take up to 8 weeks.

This week it has been extremely bad and has reduced me to tears a number of times as it really frightens me. I have had a constant headache sort of behind my eyes which feels dull and almost like there is pressure in my head, for the past 3 days and painkillers aren't helping. Every time I walk, move, or even am still the dizziness appears. It is affecting my work as I am unable to be at my computer a long time due to my vision. I was told to go back to the doctors should things get worse and plan to go tomorrow evening to out of hours. I really don't think that I can wait 8 weeks for a date to see the neurologist and feel it needs to be done sooner. I have been reading about my symptoms and have no clear steer on the possibility but I am really worried at the possibility of a brain tumor as a family member passed away of this last year.

I think it's important to note that I am 21, and generally eat well and exercise regularly (not as much as of late due to severe dizziness) At the end of last year I suffered from panic attacks, costochondritus and anxiety following the loss of a close family member. Once I went back to work January this year things improved hugely on that front. I understand that anxiety is often linked to dizziness but I am struggling to believe this has stemmed from that. I now only suffer anxiety of fear of these feelings returning.

If anyone could please shed some light on what they think this could be or if anyone is going through similar I would be so grateful.

OMG!!! Sorry for the dramatic entrance, but like everybody else I cannot believe there are other people living with this.

Last year, about 2 months After starting a brand new job I wanted so badly, these horrible symptoms began their curse on me. I was becoming more and more dizzy everyday. I tried to fight through it as I had just started this brand new job but it began to take its toll on me. I'm a 34 year old woman with a Son who was 3 at the time and started to think that maybe I was doing too much, trying to hold down a full-time job and run around after a 3 yr old and run a house.

After multiple trips to my GP I ended being put on the waiting list for the ENT clinic, let me tell you the wait was awful, I would constantly call the clinic to see where I was on the waiting list. I even ended up in A&E on one occasion as I kept getting very strong palpitations (which I think may have stemmed from the dizziness) however tests were run and like most of you, everything came back normal.

The ENT clinic put it down to vestibular vertigo like some of you have said and referred me to have Balance sessions once a week. When I learned about these classes and the exercises, I felt very negative towards it. I was thinking, there's no way no silly balance exercises are going to fix this.i wouldn't say they fixed it completely, however after about 10 wks of classes I was discharged from the clinic. I didn't noticed a change straight away. In fact, they tell you to expect your symptoms to get worse when you start the classes. I wouldn't say my problem is completely fixed( hence why I am googling these symptoms again over ayear later) however I improved atleast 80%.

I still don't know exactly what is going on with me but it's very comforting to know that I am not the only one experiencing this horrible thing. I also would like to add that I am quite an anxious person also and it has seemed to got worse as I have got older, so maybe there is some truth in anxiety being linked to this.

Good luck to you all with this, maybe it's something that takes a long time to pass. Fingers crossed 😊

Hello Fairlove1. I just let you know that I had experience almost the the same symptoms as you are having right now. I did have constant pressure, tension headache and loss of balance for about 3 months and lost 10 lbs. Eventhough I know these are the symptoms of tension headache and anxiety, but to make sure I had an CT Scan of my head. I have instant relief of 60-70% of symptoms after the CT Scan is normal. How did manage to get rid of all the  symptoms? First of all, I had moderate/severe dehydration problem because I have too many patients and do have time or forgot to drink water. So the first thing you need to do is drink enough water. Carry a water bottle everywhere to remind yourself to drink water, but DO NOT enguft two or more glasses of water at the same time because you will have side effects (please google about the side effects of drinking too much water). Secondly, you need to find a chiropractor who know how to adjust occipital bones and relieve your skull sutures (craniotherapy), which will have to relieve the pressure and tension of your head (unfortunately not too many chiropractor know about craniotherapy). Third, I practice meditation everyday, haft an hour or one hour (you can learn the stresss relief breathing technique and mindfulness technique online or kaiser website). Fourth, spend one to two minutes to comb your hair after taking a shower ( i guess it will stimulate your head nerve receptors).Fifth, practice bow praying technique: when you bow down your forehead touches the ground, the negative (stress) energy will transfer from your scalp to your forehead and releases to the ground. do recommend when your forehead touches the ground, hold for 5 to 10 seconds before standing up. Good luck for you.

Try to get an mri of your cervical spine, osteoarthritis and damage to your spine and nerves could be causing all of this, at least with me and I'm only 30

I made an account just so I could reply to this:

Like many of you, I am relieved to find out I am not the only one facing these problems. I get these dizzy spells when I turn my head fast. There is a pressure inside my head and I feel like I am in a fog constantly. I got glasses less than a year ago and now I can hardly see far away anymore. I feel drained constatly no matter how much sleep I get.

It is difficult to live any kind of normal life. School is getting affected by this problem and its starting to wear me down into nothing. I am scared that I wont be able to accomplish what I would like to in life because of all this. I was reffered to a neurologist and should be getting an MRI soon. However, it makes me sad to hear that many of you found that had no real answer. What should I say to the neurologist when I meet with him? I just want this resolved.

I have been suffering from the same symptoms for over 2 years. Previously the symptoms would come and go but since nov I have had them almost everyday. Went to docs, did chest X-ray, ekg, blood and urine sample, eye exam twice, Mri and went to chiropractor for a while. All negative. Read on one other forum/site that tmj might be the cause. I have had a clicking/popping sound coming from my jaw joint since high school. I went and saw a tmj specialist about it. He said half of my joint are wore down and the pad in the joint was misplaced. Since the eyes, and inner ear are so close to the tmj, it's the cause for the dizziness and blurred visions. Not 100% sure it's the fix but it has helped since I've been there. I actually went to an orthodontist as well to realign my jaw so i don't continue to wear away my joint. I do have to say tho that the days that I feel worse are the days my jaw muscles clinch up. Going to ask dr. Tomorrow to see about muscle relaxers. Just thought I would share as it has helped me a little. If you do inquire about it, go to a real specialist not just your dentist.

I have same sympthoms. I noticed it's from drinking coffee. I drink a lot of coffee and then my blood pressure is high. I get headaches and I gety dizzy.

If you drink coffee or green tea, I suggest you quit for a month and then you might see the difference. I quit for 6 months and didn't have any of those symptoms.

Omg I am 31 and it has really affected me.

You are not alone, but you do need to go to a doctor. I have a dizzy condition that cake from no where, and although I never passed out things do go white sometimes. I was convinced it was something nasty, but after seeing a doctor and investigation I know it's nothing serious as in life threatening.

      I really feel for you.

Hi Killian, at 15 it is often anaemia so your body can't get enough oxygen to your body causing low blood pressure, dizziness, passing out etc, but could be hundreds of things so see your GP as soon as possible. They will order tests to see what is going on.

Listen carefully ...don't get panic first this.thing won't kill you but the axity and panic.

You are developing SILENT MIGRAIN or Classical Migrain or Migrain with Aura. Usually it's starts with dizziness vision disturbance, your focus is diminished. I you might face headches or no headaches. Furthermore you could expiring some strange nurological sysmtomps but they won't kill you. Please get an MRI to rule out others problem in the brain. Gradually your sympomts will get suppressed as you will get more educated. Get an appointment of a good Nurologist who is specialiased in Headaches and migrains.

You will take some tensions as it never happened to you before so it's normal. Don't google about your problem to much as on the Internet every headache is a tumor and every tremor due to MS.

I have been facing these problems for the last 3 years and still alive. Call me if you want to discuss more. I am from India 9899289892

i'm having this problem for past 6 years. I use to get generally when my stomach is bloated. My gall bladder is 0 % working and i haven't removed it for past 6 years. If you dont have stomach issues, then better to check Vitamin b12 and MRI scan. If these 2 looks good. Then check for vestibular disorder.
