DLA Indefinite to PIP?
Posted , 72 users are following.
Hi,
I am on the high Mobility and Care Rates of DLA, but what happens when I am changed to PIP?
I have seen many people mention they are on PIP and it has been awarded for 3 years, and spoken to one person and she was granted PIP Award for 10 years.
Does this mean the 'Indefinite' period of DLA will not exist under the new PIP Allowance.
I recently had my annual letter stating DLA Care and Mobility, both on High Rates are 'indefinite'.
To me that makes no sense whatsoever, 'indefinite' means 'indefinite', not 3 or 10 years!
I would be interested if someone could answer this question and explain why people are only getting 3 or 10 year awards.
Regards,
Les.

I am since diagnosed with severe COPD too which of course leaves me breathless most of the time. Also since being deemed as requiring permanent help I am diagnosed with severe anxiety, depression and military service related PTSD which alone should have provided mobility PIP too due to risks imposed to me and the public, but my assessor ingnored those dangerous facts too ... they infer dla claimants are cheating the system but it is the system that chets them. I missed the deadlline of 1 month for appeal so they are refusing to grant arbitration but we will see about that!

Nothing is indefinite, I am seeing people who have been on dla for year have there whole claim took of them when going from dla to pip, or they have had it reduced. I was awarded standard rate care low mobility in 2013 we asked for reconsideration on the mobility side . It was upheld, we took it to tribunal it was still up held. Welfare right s took it to upper tribunal down London, on the ground s it the first tribunal did not follow the laws set out by the secutary of state. Second tribunal was allowed and awarded me the highest rate of mobility, untill Sep 2017. I was issued a review form in October 2016 on it I was stating there was no change and sent further medical evidence. I received a letter 2 days ago they want me to go to a medical??? I've rang and requested they come to me they asked why ? Well if they d read my medical notes they see am not able. Giving that the DWP decision maker is supposed to read all previous evidence and my form states no change and I've sent further evidence. Why would he need the help of another's medical . When previously the evidence etc b4 now was engough to award me ??? They are using the transition of DWP to pip and the review form s as and excuse to end poles awards sooner rather than later or to reduce the points awarded. I believe all assessment s should be recorded and copy giving to the claimant and the DWP . To prove what is been said by both parties. Because from what i am hearing the medical assessor s are telling a lot of lies. Wounder if there on a bonous to get pple of benefits. Jees I worked all my life until the last 3 year I've paid into the system yet have to fight to get anything back .

If yr born before a certain date And already 65 I get to keep it indefinite. But other than that there s no such thing as indefinite any more those awarded 10 yrs ect must have terrible health issues with no change expected. If for example yr awarded 3 yr, they review you after 2. They review people a yr beforehand there claim is due to end. The reason for dla to pip, is because very few on dla had medical s if any. But the now people are having medical s, it's good thing and a bad thing. As most hcp who assess people are trained to make assumptions and tell lies . So those who genuinely need it arnt getting it. Good luck
