DLA Indefinite to PIP?

Hi,
I am on the high Mobility and Care Rates of DLA, but what happens when I am changed to PIP?
I have seen many people mention they are on PIP and it has been awarded for 3 years, and spoken to one person and she was granted PIP Award for 10 years.
Does this mean the 'Indefinite' period of DLA will not exist under the new PIP Allowance.
I recently had my annual letter stating DLA Care and Mobility, both on High Rates are 'indefinite'.
To me that makes no sense whatsoever, 'indefinite' means 'indefinite', not 3 or 10 years!
I would be interested if someone could answer this question and explain why people are only getting 3 or 10 year awards.
Regards,
Les.

Hi, very interesting. Is there a way I can find out if my award was "for life" I'm absolutely sure it was as I have a degenerative illness that's been compounded by other problems since my award in 1997! I can picture the letter now but would like confirmation.
Also could you send me the relevent links to these people who have the 95% success rate as I'm expecting the dreaded letter fairly soon! My wife had hers today!!

This thread was available at the time to people 3 years ago.
Websites that were providing people help in 'face to face' assessments by attending is no longer available. It was closed down due to funding cuts.
As far as I am aware 'indefinite' or 'life' on DLA does not mean a direct swap to Enhanced Rates on PIP, this has been confirmed many times, on this website and many others.
PIP is a totally different Benefit to DLA

Very true Jessica, Welfare Rights and other Charities are available - many can be approached through Occupational Therapists or Adult Care Services. Most can be contacted through your local council offices for your area.
PS. I like the name Jessica, we named our youngest daughter Jessica - Well, I say youngest she's nearly 18, but still the youngest. Our other children are 2 boys aged 26 and 22.
Time flies after they leave school... and it makes me feel old!

No claim is definitely they can go for some time depending on condition most are 3 year my sons is 6 but that because he has autism learning disabilities and ADHD . U can request a home visit or paper based assessment but they may ask u get a letter from yr doctor to prove why ud need this. Dla is not pip , the question s are very different they try to trip u up , most Heath care assessor are not trained to deal with Percific condition s . In fact I've heard a lot of people say they are been looked at by paramedic s . Not right , it's like a Physo doing a midwifes job . All so wrong
