For me, unfortunately it did not go away by its own. I took some oral medication for almost 1.5 months and used suppository for a while (2 weeks). Mine was trombosed external and internal. That was several years ago.

But now, the internal has been prolapsed again and it come back if I straining too much or have a hard stool. So I need to make sure to have a soft BM.

Obviously, I can't give you advice like a doc but to stop having to wipe I am using a sitz bath - it does take time - but if you can sit there for 5 mins in warm water after a BM it is soothing and then I take a shower letting warm water just wash away everything. To avoid drying I use paper towel/kitchen towel and just fold a piece and leave it between my butt cheeks for a min or two - - it dries the area to avoid a rash withough having to wipe. Are you also using suppostries and cream ? I used to find that they take a week or so to go on ttheir own. If you are female no thongs or g-strings - nothing that puts pressure or rubs in that area.

      SFlor:

Do you use the cream after the sitz bath?  Just curious because I have had this condition for 3 days and have been applying cream daily.

      Thanks.

Honestly I'm trying everything. I use the cream after a shower because I feel that this is the best time. I use Lidocream after a BM but it's so expensive - my Doc told me orajel is the same but I don't know if it is.

I'm a dude.26yrs in Kenya(Africa).I have never taken any sitz bath coz my friends told me that they will go away on their own but I can't wait.I'll try the bath. I used a suppository only once because i felt like it didn't help in combating the pain.I've been to 3 doctors but they just prescribe some expensive meds that I can't afford.I'm hoping that it doesn't get to a surgery status because for that I'll have to ask for donors.I guess I'm stuck with the sitz bath for now and hope that it works.thnx guys

I'm so sorry the meds are so expensive for you - and to be honest they don't all work. A warm bath or even a bucket that you can sit in may help to sooth the pain. If you could do that a couple  of times a day it may help. I used to used a bit of vaseline - using the finger from a rubber glove to put just inside my rectum to make it a bit easier to have a BM.  I have been prescribed a cream with Lidocaine in numb the area (it seems Lidocaine is also in Orajel - as my doc told me). the cream is expensivena dit only numbes. I now have been given a cream with hydrocortisone2.5% inwhich is meant to help take down the swelling and stop itching. I was given some supposttries that had Hydrocortisone Acetate in which helped. But they were exepensive.

I have changed my diet ito include Phyllium every day - mix with a lot of water and wash it down with more - drink staright away before it gets thick but it's a natural laxative that makes going to the toilet a little easier - and I;ve included in my every dy diet.  I really hope things start to feel better - maybe see if theres's some things to cut out of your diet and include more fiber and things.

Sorry for spelling mistake -I'm lying in bed wrting this. Psyllium is the  natural laxative.

also, can it help if I use normal painkillers like that of aches?

I used to use regular Ibuprofen as it's supposed to help take swelling down. - make sure you're not allergic to anything in them. I've also heard that alternating warm bath and then maybe a cold face cloth if you have a freezer - maybe even put a cloth in there for a while that you could place between you cheeks could help  relieve some pain.

I also heard that Natural Witch Hazel _ with no alcohol added - on a piece of cloth could be a little relieveing.

the haemorrhoids are so swollen on both ends(and make it look like a vagina).they are about the size of a big bean and I'm not sure I can apply Vaseline coz it hurts(stings) if my finger touches them.I just tried the warm sitz bath and I find it a bit helpful(and they r a bit smaller now).I sat in for 10mins.I don't think I can find witch hazel here but I'll try though it's easier to get herbal laxatives.(which work within 10-15mins) so I can't take with food.maybe 6hrs after eating.I really do appreciate your help.asante sana(thank u so much in swahili)

Well that's  little good news. If you can use the sitz bath 2 or 3 times a day it may help. Look up foods that cause constiptaion and avoid those so you don't have to strain at all if you can help it.
