I have two external haemorrhoids the shape of a bean and they are quite large and painful.it's now 5days and they haven't gone.it's so painful to wipe after a BM and so I end up using so much tissue paper. I'm just wondering if they will go away on their own. pls advise

I hope this information will help someone.  I recently noticed blood and swelling so I looked up what to do.  I changed diet to high fiber foods and increased water intake.  I also bought some OTC ointment and took Stiz baths 3 times a day with epsom salt.  No more TP.  I also did not sit fully on the toilet seat when eliminating-this decrease pressure and eased the process of elimniation.  There was some reduction in swelling but still a little bleeding. I also resolved to sit for very short periods of time.  I read an ayuverdic manual that said to take six small onions (preferably red) and saute them in cllarified butter.  I used plain butter.  I am not sure if this was pure coincidence, placebo, or effective (when you consider all the other things I changed) but the swelling decreased and the bleeding stopped on day two.  I am still going to follow through on all of these changes-one of them, or a combination, worked.
