Do you have this symptom?

As you know, there  are so many symptoms that are commom to ME/CFS.  I would appreciate so much getting a feel for if others often  feel as though they have the flu?  Not the stomach flu.  I'm referring to the way you feel when you have the kind of fllu that we are trying to avoid when we take the flu immunization.  I'm not just referring to your legs feeling like lead and having problems holding your head up and being dizzy and having a hard time walking.  I mean actually feeling sick.  Is this what most of you experience?  This is the part of the sickness that makes me want to go into non-existence because is just makes me so miserable, but I don't really see others referencing it in their posts.  Please, if you could let me know if you  and others you know with the disease experience this?

      Hi Patrick,

Some people have been referring to nausea.  Is that the symptom that you are referring to?  Or are you referring to feeling the other kind of sick?  Thanks!

Sometimes I think I am coming down with the flu,it is that much like the flu,yes it is the worse part,I only know it is not the flu went it only lasts a few hours or a day,my trigger for relapses is the flu,if I get the flu it will trigger a relapse,3 in the last 15 years, one lasted 3 years and one over two years and the present one has been 9 months, when I was young they would last about 3 to 6 months,it started when I was 17, I am 58 now, when I was 18 the doctor thought I had mono but the tests came back negative, I did spend a week in the hospital when I was 17, I did make a full recover in

      about 3 months

Thank you so much for the replies.   This has been so informative for me because I did not know that so many people had the influenza type feeling and also the nausea trouble.   It seemed like I saw a lot of references to the overwhelming fatigue without the flu type thing.  I don't wish it on others, but it is good to know I am not alone.

hello Dawn - yeah Ihave it too.  i feel really nauseous and it's a kind of vicious circle - if i dont eat because i feel sick it hurts.  if i eat it hurts but not eating at all is not the best option!  the trick is - to eat a little something more often - when my children were small my youngest daughter was a 'grazer' - she grew up ok on it too!  Find something you really love to eat - and have a small portion.  you might find you want to have some more later, but if you are like me, i can no longer sit and eat the size of meals i used to. take care, Peta  ps, try not to eat too much chocolate or candy/sweeties.  nice at the time but of no real nutritional benefit. sadly.  lol

I use to have terrible problems with the nausea.  I cannot reccommend enough finding a digestive enzyme combo to take with food.  This did wonders for me!  Betane is an important ingredient for the digesstive enzyme mixture to have.

    Hi Dawn

Yes I feel I have the every day sore throat heavy head, feel sick limbs ache and feel ill, this is all made worse when I overdo things then I feel like I have walked a marathon have a hangover and have the flu.

I do feel like pacing helps and keeps it at bay and I sleep better but that doesnt always happen, after three years of having M.E I now have started to get anxiety problems.

Hi Dawn,  like you I've not heard of others talking about this symptom much but I've been suffering from nausea intermittently for several years now.  It seems worse when I try to concentrate on anything like reading or completing tasks.  The more concentration needed the sicker I feel.  I had trigeminal neuralgia as a complication of this illness for some years and it was very bad then.  My neurologist told me this was common.  I do have a lot of digestive problems but oddly enough it does not seem to be these which cause the nausea, something else seems to be contributing to that.  I know I am not going to vomit but still the feeling of nausea is very unpleasant. I haven't found any way of countering it except stepping up relaxation and a bit of pampering.  Hope you feel better soon.
