Do your anxiety symptoms last for days/weeks?

My physical symptoms of anxiety seem to never go away 😟 does anyone else have the same thing and is this normal? I'm sick of it and because it's always here I think there definately is something wrong with me! It's horrible living like this.
Also, when you start to obsess with one symptom (me chest pain mainly breast) I feel like it's actually something serious and its like I'm seeing more symptoms of it being serious. It's hard to describe but if you obsess that much always lookin etc if it possibly for you to make up new physical symptoms in your head?? I'm making myself go mad. Want my pain to
Go away and it won't which makes me more anxious.
Thanks for reading, Nicola xx

Hi Nicola,
I understand how you feel. I've had constant anxiety for the past 4 years. At times I have my good days while others are so bad that I feel like Im dying and need to get to the hospital.
If you try to relax (I try really hard yet most of the time I fail but when I do manage to relax) the symptoms start to calm down too.
Try not to get panicked about those symptoms since they could feel worse with panicking.
As I am writing this, I have a pretty bad chest pain and am having difficulty breathing.
Take care please!!

I am sorry this is such a late response ...are you still suffering from crazy anxiety and panic? I have been this way for many years and it seems no one can fix me....all that I read says that these attacks last for minutes to a few hours but mine go on most of the day...I really hate to be alone for fear of passing out or worse...I have had 2 heart attacks so it's difficult to know what's real and what's do to my crazy disorder. Part of my fear is going to Dr.s and taking meds so I won't have any part of anxiety meds besides I want a cure not a band aid. I cannot drive a car anymore for fear of having an attack while driving I don't like to socialize outside of my home my children think I'm crazy I hate being this way

Hi,
Three days ago I started an intense h pylori treatment and that' s when I started having diarrhoea, nausea and all the side effects of that treatment. I'm weak and the medications made me even weaker. So, on the third day I decided to stop the treatment because I couldn't take it anymore and that brought with it a constipation and a lack of appetite. At night I went to sleep and 15 minutes later woke up and i felt sudden dizziness and light-headedness, and that's when I had this massive panic attack and this feeling of fear made me stand up really quickly, felt tingling in my left side of the head, face, cheek and neck and thought i was having a heart attack. My arms and legs felt heavy and those on the left felt heavier. I felt a tingling in both hands a couple of times, too. I couldn't sleep all night but managed to sleep around 7 o'clock in the morning till 10. Woke up again and the tightness in my face and neck are still there, my left arm hurts a bit near the elbow, my legs are still heavy and the pain, that pressure in the top left side of my head is still there, too. And the air conditioning can't seem to cool my body. I don't know what is this. Is it constipation, a result of that panic attack or just a heart attack? I'm in fear. I'm tired. I had anxiety attacks recently but, this is new and is making me really scared. I feel so alone and I only have mum to ask for help but, i don't want to worry her because I know she'll be really worried and i can't do this to her especially when she has my ill father to worry about. I'm 37 but, I don't know if I can go to the doctor's alone this time because I'm really, absolutely scared of being alone after what happened to me last night. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Hi Dsuw. Hope you are feeling better now. I've first advise that anyone will give you in you need to go to the doctors and rule out any physical disease and it will also calm you down. If you are afraid to do call ambulance explain you symptoms. They will take you to hospital do blood work ECG and may be chest x-ray, believe me you'll feel reliefed too. As for me I think you had a panic attack, it's exactly what I had about 6 months ago and up till now I'm suffering from anxiety and have constant chest and back pain and almost always breathless and that freaks me out. Ive been prescribed mirtazapine and it seems to start helping get me a bit now. Hope you are feeling better. Stray strong.

Hello Terri55. Thank you so much for your heartfelt thoughts and kind wishes. I really do appreciate them and your kind reply. I hope you're feeling better, too. I hope you'll never go through that again. I pray you and every patient get better and never suffer from that again. I'm now feeling fine, thank you. I ended up in the ER a few days ago, did a chest x-ray but everything seems fine though I'll need more tests and the doctors told me to see an otolaryngologist, too. The anxiety is there from time to time. I'm fighting it hard. The tightness in my chest, neck and back is there. The pain sometimes can be unbearable but I try my best to calm down and breathe. It's a struggle but I pray that you and I and everyone suffering will overcome this. Thank you again and I hope you'll feel better from now on. And you too stay strong

Hi everyone? I hope you are all doing better than before. I am having something that I have diagnosed to be a generalized anxiety. Thought I do not know what triggers it as it has only been a month. After checking the physical symptoms of anxiety on a reputable website, I have found out that I only have the hear pelpitation or the weird feeling on the left side and no other symptoms. Since yesterday, even that seems to have gone but it has been replaced with just feeling crappy. I do worry a lot and I think to myself "why are you being so irrational". The fear things I worry about are what if I end up needing medication? What if they don't work? What if I end up a mental ward?
I am a student and work at 2 jobs and they are relatively easy jobs to do so I convinced myself it isn't stress the is a trigger.
Do I sound like I have an axiety? Are there a non mental diseases that resemble anxiety in symptoms? Something tells me there isn't.

Getting yourself checked out by a doctor is always a good idea so you can make sure it's not something more serious and put your mind at ease. If it is anxiety, which it sounds like it is, one of the worst things you can do is constantly ask yourself those questions. "Why is this happening, what does it mean, will I need meds" etc. Think of it like quicksand. The harder you fight it the faster it pulls you in. I find what works for me is acknowledging how I'm feeling and actually take an interest in it. Most of the time the physical symptoms might be bad, but how we react to them are what triggers panic attacks. The fight or flight mechanism in our brain kicks in and then all you can do is ride it out. The key is not letting it get to that point. I don't know what triggers my panic attacks either, and although Imy by no means cured, I've found ways to cope with it the best way I know how. There's is a great app called Mindshift that has helped me a lot as well, I suggest you download it. Best of luck to you

I know i have been under a lot of stress and a lot of changes in my life i guess it is taking it's toll. Gonna go to Dr to make sure it is nothing else.

Hello PJoy. I do suffer from those symptoms too with anxiety. I began suffering from anxiety lately due to stress, shock and sudden changes, too. But going to the doctor's and getting a full check up is always a good idea and actually can help relieve your stress and calm you down. But for now try to breathe properly. Google some breathing exercises that might help you calm yourself down during anxiety. Hope you get better.
