Does anyone else with Fibromyalgia get any of these symptoms??

My GP says he's pretty sure I have fibromyalgia after going back and forth to him with different symptoms for almost a year. I now have an appointment at the hospital in early December with a rheumatologist to discuss the symptoms further, have a full examination and hopefully receive a diagnosis.

Over the last few months my symptoms have gotten worse and more diverse and I can barely stand it anymore. I constantly feel tired no matter how much sleep I get and the minute I do anything like make a meal or go shopping I feel exhausted and have to rest. I get what my doctor says is tension headaches all the time and feel as though I am allergic to everything! My nose, ears and throat constantly itch (sometimes unbearably) and and I'm always sneezing. I always feel as though I am about to get a sore throat and ear ache and then it goes away. I have chest pains that feel like I'm having a heart attack and I get stabbing pains that feel as though they are underneath my ribs. My back constantly aches but when I try to sit or lye comfortably I get stabbing pains and can barely sleep in the early hours. My ankles feel as though they are sprained even though I haven't done anything to them. I bruise so easily and the slightest touch feels so painful. Even running a finger over my skin sometimes feels as though I have sunburn or something similar. My arms and hands and legs and feet go numb all the time and sometimes I get what feels like hot pin pricks in them. When I walk sometimes or am lay down I get shooting pains down my legs. My Doctor says I have IBS and I spend all my time either constipated or with diarrhea and horrible stomach cramps.

I feel like I am going insane and I can't cope. I'm quite sure I sound like a hypochondriac but I really do experience these symptoms on a daily basis. Am I alone in this or do other people with Fibromyalgia have these troubles?

I am on anti inflammatory tablets(pregabalin after gabapentin wasn't working) but they barely do anything. How can I live like this for the rest of my life?

I have had many blood tests to rule out any other defficiences etc.

    Good morning Princess,

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through all of this.

And unfortunately I have had all of the symptoms that you are going through. I am currently in the midst of a Fibro Flare. My doctor has prescribe a Medrol Pack and started me on Lyrica. It takes a few days for the Lyrica to take affect but I am slowly beginning to get relief. I staking this on top f the medications I was already taking Gabapentin, Baclofen, Tramadol, and amitriptyline.

I pray you find something to give you relief.

Please keep us updated on your progress.

I have a lot of the same complaints. I recently had pneumonia and a UTI that sent me really haywire. But I can complain about a lot. Especially this burning feeling head itches. Cool sensation in body red face rash. Now my blood pressure high. I have this popping sound in nose. All weird things. I am freezing one minute sweaty next. I feel like I am in La la land at times and dizzy then I am clear headed. I can go on and on. I have not been diagnosed but I feel I have this all my emtests are negative and now I feel I am getting anxiety. I get nervous over a haircut.

Hi, I suffered for 2 years with random symptoms, extremely tired all the time, pains that became unbareable. It's so hard to fight when you don't what your fighting but when it comes down to fibromyalgia you will always be fighting nothing. It's the invisible illness, you will (with support) learn to manage better. Make sure you badger your Dr to listen carefully to what you need as they use fibromyalgia to dismiss other problems when sometimes it really isn't the fibromyalgia!

I have every symptom that you said. It's been about 6 months it started out very slowly just random pains here and there. At the same time I started with stomach problems also I have irritable bowel. But now I have pain everywhere Non-Stop. My elbows to my hands my knees my legs hurt constantly I get shooting pains in them my feet hurt all the time. I already have chronic migraines so that's just the top it all off. My neck hurts my back hurts all the time and I get sharp stabbing pains in my chest like I'm afraid I'm having a heart attack. I do not sleep at night at all I get muscle spasms all night long and my legs I have been Sleepless for about 2 months. I am now waiting to see a second rheumatologist the first one diagnosed me with fibromyalgia but told me to come back in 2 months. And she gave me nothing for it. I was so mad that I cancelled and rescheduled with someone else because I feel the same as you like I am ready to go out of my mind. I also work for the post office I'm a mail carrier so my job is extremely physical and I walk a lot. Which confuses me because I know they say that you need to be physically active but then when I do my walking around I feel like I'm dying at the end of the day. So there has to be a fine line there. And I know they say also that stress can make it worse well I think that's hilarious because how can you not be stressed. I already take an antidepressant and I feel like I'm ready to have a nervous breakdown from this it's horrible I totally sympathize with you it is a helpless feeling. I wish you the best Marcy

Hello, yes I feel all you mention, outside of the pain, feeling like I have the flu and the fog in my head keeps me in a fetal position often.

      Hi

I get the same symptoms as you. I thought I have having a heart attack. I was told it was panic attacks. But then was diagnosed with costocondoritis which is part of fybro. If you google costocondoritis it will explain all about the condition. Hope this helps xxx

I almost can't stand the pain anymore I've tried anti immamatory meds a heating pad everything. It's almost like a burning pain at times some times I can feel when I swallow I thought maybe it's from reflux I do take nexium. I got switched to a generic last week. I also have some feeling out of it and tired. I can complain all day about my symptoms!

Mine is my upper back and between my shoulders like someone is squeezing them so hard. Heats helps when it's on not completely but when it comes off it's awful. Do you ever get weird sensations in chest. Like when I breath sometimes it flutters but my lungs are clear almost like a vibtarying feeling and at times I feel vibrating.

Yup exactly the same and also like a feeling of blockage in my throat

You get the vibration sensations too? And like weird sensations inside your chest? I know I'm not crazy I actually feel these things. Sometimes I can explain the back and right feeling as if someone is hugging me really tight.

I can't stand anyone resting in my chest I can't even wear a bra I get the vibrations regularly the whole thing scares me

I have this severe upper back pain as well especially on my right side?shoulder blade are that feels like a burning/stinging pain. My Rheumatologist said that I would have that because I am possibly not falling into a deep enough sleep at night. I had to agree because my sleeping has been off for months and if I get a full 4 hours straight it's a miracle. As for the other symptoms mentioned above, I've had those symptoms and still continue to get them and I have had a round of blood work, EKG and exams done. Apparently Fibro causes pain in the chest/sternum/spine/rib cage/neck, so even though I feel as if I'm choking or maybe having a heart attack, I've been told it's not.
