Does anyone else with Fibromyalgia get any of these symptoms??

My GP says he's pretty sure I have fibromyalgia after going back and forth to him with different symptoms for almost a year. I now have an appointment at the hospital in early December with a rheumatologist to discuss the symptoms further, have a full examination and hopefully receive a diagnosis.

Over the last few months my symptoms have gotten worse and more diverse and I can barely stand it anymore. I constantly feel tired no matter how much sleep I get and the minute I do anything like make a meal or go shopping I feel exhausted and have to rest. I get what my doctor says is tension headaches all the time and feel as though I am allergic to everything! My nose, ears and throat constantly itch (sometimes unbearably) and and I'm always sneezing. I always feel as though I am about to get a sore throat and ear ache and then it goes away. I have chest pains that feel like I'm having a heart attack and I get stabbing pains that feel as though they are underneath my ribs. My back constantly aches but when I try to sit or lye comfortably I get stabbing pains and can barely sleep in the early hours. My ankles feel as though they are sprained even though I haven't done anything to them. I bruise so easily and the slightest touch feels so painful. Even running a finger over my skin sometimes feels as though I have sunburn or something similar. My arms and hands and legs and feet go numb all the time and sometimes I get what feels like hot pin pricks in them. When I walk sometimes or am lay down I get shooting pains down my legs. My Doctor says I have IBS and I spend all my time either constipated or with diarrhea and horrible stomach cramps.

I feel like I am going insane and I can't cope. I'm quite sure I sound like a hypochondriac but I really do experience these symptoms on a daily basis. Am I alone in this or do other people with Fibromyalgia have these troubles?

I am on anti inflammatory tablets(pregabalin after gabapentin wasn't working) but they barely do anything. How can I live like this for the rest of my life?

I have had many blood tests to rule out any other defficiences etc.

I have all of those symptoms. Over the last 10 years it seems like I have gotten more symptoms and now the symptoms are worse. Lately I have been forgetting things. When I text or message someone I will stop a couple words into the sentence because I forgot what I wanted to say. It even takes me a minute to remember and I have also lost time a few times over the last year. And now like a hot flash from my face down my neck and a cold feeling that comes over me. One more new thing is my left thigh goes numb. I'm miserable most of the time. I really don't want to live like this anymore. I don't meditate as much as I should.

Yes I get those symptoms it's very frustrating. I'm a stay at home dad and my family doesn't really understand why I'm home "I'm sick 24/7 I just push myself thru it. I have had 5 back surgeries on was a fusion ankle surgery because I broke my ankle because I have no feeling in my left leg from nerve damage from my back blowing out and causing me not to walk for 5 days. All I Tale if ibuprofen for the swelling in my joints the Drs won't give me anything else because I can't take lyric that stuff sucks. Any advise what I can take to help with the fibromyalgia pain and fog!!!

I just want to say when I read this I was a little confused as to when I wrote it. This is me to a T. From the itchy eyes and soar throat to the shooting pains (mine are in the hips), back pain etc, etc.  It's all exactly what's happening. I'm seeing a rheumatologist and taking lyrica. It helps with giving me more energy and stamina, but not entirely with the pain. I've been diagnosed with fibro and some of the symptoms, often seeming totally unrelated, are all part of the sh*tty package deal. Hang in there, find some meds that help if you can. No doubt it can be a full on nightmare and test your own sanity. Just saying, I feel you princess.

Yes, yes & more yes's!! Sounds exactly like fibro unfortunately. It can take a while to get the right medication- I was diagnosed 10 years ago now & tried allsorts. Think I've had a few weeks of relief lately- still get all the symptoms but more able to deal with things(hope that makes sense?) I'm taking venlafaxine for depression too, pregabalin, tramadol & low dose amitriptyline 4sleep. Maybe this is wots helping or maybe I'm just having an ok time!! U need to keep on hassling yor gp & try get the medication sorted..also, rest when u can. Don't push yorself too much or feel bad 4having to ask 4help. Pace yorself! 😊

I am new to this site & ur post is from a year ago, but I had to reply. I get all the symptoms u have described. I've never been on a site & posted to it, but as I was reading ur post it could have been me writing it. I also have Lupus, but my doctor recently told me I have fibromyalgia. My muscles hurt daily. It feels like every day I have worked out for 2 hours but I don't. Chest pain, shoulder, tension headache, back pain. All muscle pain. My joints don't swell too bad thank god, but my kidneys are effected by the Lupus. Over the last 2 years I have developed so many allergies to foods, perfume, lotions, bees, constant stuffy nose. I try to eat healthy most of the time, slight exercise even though it hurts. I am a cry for a minute then pull up ur big girl panties kind of person, but there are days I am scared of how much worse it can get. Yes I also feel like a hypochondriac sometimes. when people ask what's wrong I don't even bother saying anymore because there is always something hurting. I know people have worse things happening, I can understand that which is why I hate to even complain. Then I feel guilty if I do get down about it. I hope u have found some answers & are feeling better. Sorry for the long post.

Have you read The Spoon Theory (Google it) by Christine Miseriando (spellimg???).  It is fantastic for explaining your life to relations, friends, colleagues. She has Lupus but many people in pain have found her words 'fit their lives'.

Just a thought!  Hope it helps.

You are not losing your mind. I right now am having chest pain just under the breastbone. No one is to touch me. I am so exhausted. The best feeling is going to a local workout place and get into the pool with the water just up to my neck. It is the most relaxing sensation. You can tell the difference when you get out and the pull of gravity hurts. I sleep with a fan on winter and summer trying to cover the sound of ringing ears. I take medication to use the bathroom. I take pain meds. I take Klonopin to help with restless leg at night. Sometimes my body will spasm like seizures. I'm tired. I'm sick. I still go do commercials for the radio station I worked at for over 20 years. My problem began after back surgery in 1994. I sneezed and ruptured a disk. Two years later I woke one morning and took me two hours to shower and do hair and makeup. Felt like 1000 pound weights on my arms holding them down. I have headaches, joint pain and times just want to be left alone. All my teeth began to break off so all the top were pulled. I have 6 on the bottom and that's it. I wear a top plate that does enable me to be able to do commercials. My skin sometimes feels like it is sunburned. My hair is falling out. You are not crazy honey. This is life with fibromyalgia. Without a good family help system I would have taken the short road a long time ago.

Hi Princess - I am experiencing the same symptoms...muscular pain in arms and legs, sunburn feeling in arms and my ankles hurt upon standing for brief amounts of time. My knees also hurt/ burn upon standing and my hands feel warm and pulse. I feel like I have the flu all day long.   The pinprick feeling is in my biceps also.    I have been checked for Sjorgen's syndrome, Rheumatoid factor, creatine kinase levels and many other viruses- all came back negative.  Did you ever find out a diagnosis for what you had and did you get better.  Many thanks in advance for any information.  Best- Holly

I'm in the same boat. For nearly a year I've been in and out of the ER and doctor offices trying to figure out the source of my severe chest pain and nearly every other part of my body. My doctor thinks she has it narrowed down to lupus or fibromyalgia but we are still running tests. Did you ever get a diagnosis?

I see this post is an old one, but you sound like my younger twin!! If it helps at all, you are not crazy nor are you a hypochondriac!! I feel like all I do is whine and complain and I can't stand myself sometimes! I am 65 now and thank goodness I am retired , so I don't have the stress of going to work. I was formally diagnosed about 6 years ago. My job wasa stressful one both mentally and physically. I was 35 when I started and did a lot of physical stuff that I am paying for now! I do have good days and that seems to be when people see me skipping about and feeling good! I always feel  like they think I am lying. It's hard for me to know at this age, what is normal aches and pains and what is due to fibro! But I sure can relate to the allergy prob. I have had to start using unscented detergents because I am so hypersensitive to smell anymore. I know it doesn't help much, but you are not alone!

i share your experience. alot of what ou have, i do. my previous doctor retired and i went to another doctor who does not seem to care. or even be interested. i recently went to her with very bad chest pain and she told me that the gabenpentin i have been taking since the last year is very slow working and i should keep taking them until they run out. i have bad pain in every place on my body and it is really painful. i have urine infections, stomach pain and terrible pains in my chest along with the things you describe.. sometimes i cannot stand up straight and have a very bad memory. i was assessed by a doctor about this because it came about after i had tb in 2014. i really sympathise with you and just pray you get some peace.
