Hi there

I have always had a bit of a dodgy stomach but for the past year or so i have been diagnosed superficially with oes reflux

I get worried that there missing something

i get pulsing in my stomach which radiates up my chest to my head so my whole body pulses, i get dizzy and my legs sometimes fell weak and that i'm walking like the man in the mr soft advert!!

the worse is the breathing, its like i can't get air in my lungs, like something is pushing up from my diaphram and pushing the air out and then like someone has there hands on my neck, i have to lie down and breath no matter what i'm doing as i feel i might pass out, i also get very itchy like i'm uncomfatable in my own skin!

CAN IT REALLY BE THIS BAD. cause if it is i can live with it, but i'm so scared its something else and i'll be found dead from a heart attack or something (i'm 35 years by the way)who will look after me dogs then LOL

any response appreciated, just want to know that i'm not alone!!

cheers

    Hi,

I have similar problems to you and was told repeatedly that the breathing

problems are likely to be panic attacks and that it is probably nothing to

worry about. Still worried, I did a lot of research and found there is

something called larnygospasm or vocal cord dysfuntion that can cause

breathing problems for acid reflux. Basically, this closes the vocal cords

so you struggle for breath. There are breathing exercises you can do to

help this. The one I found that works is breathing in quickly through the

nose and then out slowly through the mouth, either through very pursed

lips or through a straw. Doing this several times opens the vocal cords

so that you can breathe. This should be practised when you are not

getting the problems, so it is easier to do when the problems occur.

Hi, Michelle, I am sorry to read your having so many problems and no relief. Have you been told why your oxygen levels are so low because that would have you with a lot of symptoms and be feeling terrible..

Hi..... I'm 50 years old lady. I had this heartburn problem for quite long time, I think is about 15 years but all the time is not as bad as now. Since last month I had a very bad heartburn till I admitted to the hospital twice within a week and 3 times of A&E. My Dr already gave Nexium 40mg twice a day and Gaviscon Advance and yet the heartburn till now non stop, not only that I feel giddy, whole body like very heavy to do anything, cannot drive, so down and scared. I really cannot take it anymore. It really sometimes confusing me is it heartburn or heart attack. And I'm going to die soon. Please help

Sorry to hear about your issues, all symptoms I can attest to as well, mine has accelerated in the last couple of months as well to the point where i often can't function. My meds are no longer helping as well. I also get very anxious. Have they done any tests to get to the bottom of what is going on?

Hi,  I must sumpathise with you all. Not feeling good is a terrible thing that causes anxiety and in turn causes  the symptoms to present themselves in earnest. I have been going through health issues over the last 18 months as i was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and have been having operations  and going  through treatments.  However over the last few months I've been feeling that there is permanently a lump in my throat. I have been on anti Acid reflux meds for 4 months and it hasn't helped much. My ENT about 2 months ago put a camera through my nose and down my throat and said that my throat is swollen and prescribed Nexium for 60 days. It improved a little but after I stope taking Nexium the feeling of the lump increased. I went back to my ENT who once again put the camera down my throat and again my throat was swollen. She referred me for a barium swollow which indicated that " relative stenosis of the GE junction which delayed barium transit into the stomach" and " GOR present. I am still waiting for my ENT to phone and explain. I have not noticed a dull pain in my upper stomach before but since the barium I am noticing it as well as slight nausea "anxious much". Has anybody had anything like this or could anybody shed some light on it. Thank you in advance

I had an endo done on me and they found what is called a "schatzkis ring" aka "steakhouse syndrome" look it up could be the answer to some of yalls problems. Mine was fixed with a simple balloon dilation in my esophagus!!!

Hi there! I have a similar story with all of this. My symptoms came out of nowhere one day with severe indigestion/heartburn to the point for almost 2 weeks I was eating tums and rolaids in place of food. I finally gave up when the dizziness and the chest pains started and went to the doctor. They did all kinds of test to make sure that the lining of my stomach wasn't infected and even did an EKG. They then felt the need to do an ultrasound on my heart. My regular physician couldn't diagnose what they found so I went to a cardiologist. He stated that I had GERD that was stress induced. I had all of the following symptoms: dizziness, extreme indigestion, sensitivity to smells, severe right rib cage pain, left chest pain (lower rib area), shivers, and extreme fatigue afterwards. He prescribed a medication to me to take every day for 2 months and then as needed. I found them to be extremely helpful. I have recently started experiencing the symptoms again but I have not had a chance to refill the medication. I will be making time for that ASAP though.

?I hope that these responses are helpful.

P.S. what kind of dogs do you have?

Hi Jamie....What medication did the doctor prescribe you for your gerd? Any additional things you are doing to combat the acid reflux would be helpful as well.

      Thank you!

I’m 39 years old and I just started experiencing these symptoms. I always have got heartburn, but I assumed it was from eating bread (I’m not even sure if that’s a thing).  I’m experiencing this right now as we speak. My stomach feels all gassy making noises, my chest hurts and I have heartburn and my chest has a dull burn. I have dizzy spells as well. My throat hurts feels as if it’s almost shut. I also am not sure if I need to throw up or poop. So I google my symptoms (like I did when I found this thread) I seen all kinds of heart attacks, strokes and stuff pop up so then I get to freaking out thinking I’m going to die. So I guess that’s where the anxiety takes place. I sit and wonder me being a single mom I can’t afford any unnecessary bills to the hospital. This is the 2nd time dealing with this and I was overjoyed to find this thread. I took a Zantac and I wonder how long does this last so I can give my self a time limit. Plus I’m tired and cants sleep.

    Thank you

    Amanda
