Does anyone know what "FLEXISEQ and its "ACTIVE INGREDIENT", SEQUESSOME", is?

Both are trade mark names. It is a cream meant to relieve painful joints but it is extremely expensive. Before I go out and buy it I would like to know a bit more about it. I am male, 72 years, in overall reasonable health.

Please don't be so sceptical and negative about products, Benny Blanco.

I have just read through the trail of letters and I see that it helps some users.

So, if it works, then keep on using it.

Benny, you are being naive if you think that drugs companies don't market their products by supporting specific charities associated with their product.

That doesn't make it wrong, or the product bad.

I use Flexiseq on my arthritic knee, use Regenovex green lip mussel extract capsules, exercise on my bike, go to the gym to do purely leg exercises, and use a Faradic electric pulse machine on my knee muscles.

At 67, I thought that my hockey days were over, due to the pain of any impact on my knee, such as running. Running for a bus causes pain.

If I can play my sport again, with reduced pain, then it will all have been worthwhile. And I don't care which of the treatments helps, as long as the end result is positive.

    I will report in a month's time.

So don't be put off by sceptics- whatever helps- USE IT!

Hi i have been using FLEXISEQ for 4 weeks now for my hip,i have felt no difference to the pain,i will keep trying until the tube is finished but im not very optimistic.

From what i have read it is mostly for knees and hands so maybe it would help them.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of buying.   smile

Let me put my experience down here. About a year ago I woke up after an evenings jive dance with excrutiating pain in my left knee. Just like when I tore a cartildge and had to have key hole surgery in my right knee a few years ago. The pain continued for months despite resting, mild exercise etc etc and I was beginning to believe I would have to go the surgeons again. I read an endorsement for Flexiseq from a rugby player so decided to give it a go. All I can say is its a miracle- I have no idea how it works but it does. Within a few weeks of using night and morning my knee is as fit as it could be- I am 65 and there are hints of early OA in the joints according to the knee specialist who treated me the firsst time. I am now down to using it once a day in the morning- and not every day. I have chronic lower back too and am now going to try it out on that. I'll let you know how it goes

well yes it is supposed to help lubricate cartilege-lacking joints, and I'm not sure a hip would be most likely candidate for treatment. I use on my arthritic (non rheumatic) wrist and I think it's helping. Mike

I understand your fear, especially as you are still young. However, as far as the actual operation is concerned, I can only speak from my own experience and the great feeling of relief when I first got out of my hospital bed and put my weight on that leg - NO PAIN!  It was wonderful. I  progressed well and was out walking my dog quite soon and driving again in 6 weeks. I've never looked back & that was in Dec. 2005. Several friends have been 'done' also, with equally good results so I wish you the very best of luck and hope it all goes really well for you. Just make sure you do what the physios tell you and do your exercises as instructed.

I would also be scared in those circumstances but that was 28 years ago & if you make sure they know about that, they will be especially careful with you I'm sure. I would just dare to say that, if you're a smoker, it would be wise to stop as soon as you possibly can - like now! - as it can only be to your advantage. I was a smoker years ago so I know it's not easy but, oh boy, am I glad I persevered.smile  Also, try & keep your weight under control - again not easy, especially when you're in pain & exercise is difficult or even impossible (been there, done that too!). However, just believe that you will have many years of enjoyment with your family ahead of you. I hope you don't think I'm being patronising as I really am only trying to help.

Always a wise move to make a Will, especially when you have children, but not what you want to hear from your consultant!  They can unwittingly be really insensitive at times!  Anyway, you're obviously doing all the right things and sound in pretty good shape so go for it and you'll be fine.  I'd better get off this site before I'm thrown out for monopolising it!  TTFN.

I used four tubes of flexiseq consecutively for my OA which is in my lower back right hip and right knee.  I have had it for a few years now and before now only used ibuprofen, or paracetamol to control the pain when it was really bad. I am 66 now and thought that I would have to put up with this pain for the rest of my life, with it just getting worse and worse.  However, a few weeks ago I read on this site that you could try using MSM, which is a sulphur derivative, with good results.  I tried to get a pure form of this, but could not source it reliably.  I did find a source which combined MSM with Glucosamine sold by Holland and Barret and I bought a jar of 60. The recommended dose was three a day, but I started with caution and used one a day. I had already researched MSM and its side effects.  This dose proved too much for me and caused unnecessary discomfort having to trip to the loo too often and slight tummy pains. At this point I had been taking the pill for three days running, and amazingly the pain in my hip, back and knee had almost gone! I was staggared, and did not want to give up taking it so I cut down the dose to half a tablet. Guess what? it still worked and my side effects got less and less over the following week.  I now take a whole tablet once a day, with no side effects and my pain more or less gone. I feel 'normal' again thank goodness.  I understand that the side effects happen because MSM is a detox for the body, and at the same time a muscle relaxant. It is natural, and apparently does not have any dangers associated with it like other drugs do.  I discussed it with my pharmacist who told me I could work up to the three tablets a day suggested on the bottle, with no adverse effects to worry about, or I could stick with the one a day until I needed to up it at some time in the future. This is what I am doing and it is working fine.  It's interesting to note that I also suffer from Reflux and had to take Lanzoprazil, but that has almost completely gone too.  It has been three months now, and I don't plan to stop any time soon.  I thought I'd mention on here because even it if helps one person who reads it, it would be worth it.  Good luck all my fellow sufferers!  PS the Pharmacist told me that it is not a prescribed drug because it costs nothing and the drug companies can't make any money out of it.....

I get my Glucosamine (1000) with MSM from Healthspan and there a lot cheaper than Holland and Barret and just as good I got a years supply

Thanks for that information Christine - I have recently been diagnosed with arthritis in both hips although the right one is the worst.  I'm 73 and want to enjoy my life, much as you, without too much discomfort and pain!  I also have reflux and take Omeprazole (same family as Lanzoprazil which my husband takes) and have been advised not to take iboprufen although I do as it does give some relief.  I also take paracetomol to give some relief during the night as it is very painful when lying down.  I am going to Holland and Barrett tomorrow to look for glucosamine with MSM and give it a try!  Thanks again and that sounds about right about the drug companies..........
