Hi,

I know dreams are a common side effect of fluoxetine, but do they ever settle down?

I seem to be having quite a few vivid and realistic dreams per night, usually about things that are worrying me which then makes me question myself as to whether it was a dream or not!

Has anyone experienced this and did it settle for you? Or is there anything we can do to ease it?

Thanks :-)

I think it's a regular thing when you are on flu..

      Hi,

I'm on week 6 now and other than dreams and being shakey, and losing weight I'm ok! Physical side effects aren't too bad

Just want the dreams to ease!

How much weight did you lose?

      I lost 5kgr or 10 pounds in 30 days...

I constantly feel ups and downs and today I had minor panic attack...

      But I will persevere...

      We must persevere....

    Hi Leah,

Was on Sertraline 6mths 100mg. GP changed me to Fluroxitine 20mg a week week ago.

Dreams are nightmares my subconscious comes to life all panic dreams. Wake myself up screaming etc. Effects my day, often tired then don't want too sleep at night. Vicious circle.

Don't know a drug that suppresses the dream pattern.? I know it's early day but I'm fed up with it. Appetite always non existent for a few weeks.

What to do.? What do these chemicals do not sure anymore how I'm meant to feel.

Keep me posted Leah on your progress.

    Regards Claire.

      Hi Claire,

Seems the dreams are common! Annoying that we're getting panicky ones though! Yes it effects my day too, im very tired throughout the day because of waking up multiple times

Ah so you're quite early into taking Fluoxetine. My first few weeks I felt the same, didn't know how to feel or if they were even working but now 6 weeks on I feel my mood has improved :-)

If these side effects would go id feel great but I'm not that lucky haha!

Let me know how you get on too, best of luck :-)
