Dry ejaculation

My husband is Type 1 diabetic and was also recently diagnosed with an enlarged prostate. Diabetes affects blood pressure - raising it, and it may in some men cause erectile dysfunction. Tamsulosin Hydrochloride was prescribed and my husband has taken it for approximately 2 - 3 months. I can report that his urine flow has increased significantly but he does not produce semen when ejaculating, something he has been oblivious to and it is only me who has noticed it. Failure to produce semen is not listed as a side affect to the drug and I feel it is of low incidence and has therefore gone unreported. This failure presents no problem to my husband or me presently and only if it does will he report it to his GP. May I respectfully suggest to those men who find it problematical that they tell their doctors who will a) explain the possible cause of the side effect; b) change the medication or c) give reassurance that this will not affect their sexual performance.

Eight years back! Yes I have the same problem for some years using tamsulosin, but it does not seem to be a health issue of importance. The fact that this side effect is not reported is not so accurate now, yet withing the drugs.com website it is still not mentioned, whereas elsewhere it is widely reported.
Good health and happiness to
both of you.

I have been using Tamsulosin for 3 years. In the beginning, ejaculation began to change in the sense of there being less semen produced. That changed to retrograde ejaculation and now no production at all and the sense of orgasm has changed as well. Sometimes I feel distinctly, although very differently that it has occurred and other times, things just "peter out". Not very satisfying. I would very much like to get off this drug.

Prostate Artery Embollisation . It aims to block the arteries feeding the prostate and to kill bits of it. The procedure on me took 2+ hours though I gather 1.5 is the norm. Between op and check up after 2 months, I am told my prostate reduced in size from 130ml to 100ml. I note Charal's experience which would reinforce my view that you need to ask the vascular surgeor how many he had done, and with what results before signing up.
