Hi. Anyone suffer from ectopics? Mine started 3 yrs ago when i was pregnant and are getting worse. Had ecgs...48 hr ecg ( which of course only showed a couple) echo and ct angiogram which im waiting the results for but wanted to know how many is normal? For the last 5 days have been really bad and tonight in the space of an hour as i counted them i had 16..just so typical that when i had my 48 hr ecg a few weeks back i was having a good few days so of course the cardiologist said all looked normal. Just wondered if people suffered with these and what the outcome has been? Its really getting to me and worrying me now. THANKS.

i am done... in a nutshell: lived in bed for 3 years. feel petrified 24/7 of the ectopics / PACS/PVCS/ flutter/para Af/ flapping/ lurching...

based in an old ECG from 2019 cardio wrote a letter dated 09/10/2022 received a week ago sating he cannot help.

    i have lost 3st, 5'6" and weigh 7st 10lbs.

scared to live. -and thats a huge blanket. I have bought an KArdia. 2 weeks ago and caught every Afib warning and bombarded the cardiologist with the results. all i want is an ablation. and my life back because at 47 i cannot go on living like this. i stink. i cant wash, and i use a bucket as my lav as too scared to walk to my toilet. but of course 8 years at med school doesnt train you how to actually realise how demonic and destructive these things are to us mentally. he is calling me friday. in the 8 yrs he hs been my EP i have never seen him. Always an excuse cancelling appointments and wow didnt covid give the nhs a fabulous excuse to be even more useless than they were! if thats posssible. ive no more tears. im so sorry for all of you on here. keep pushing- anxiety can cause a few ectopics but not to the extent ypu should be worried and they will use every excuse to blame it on anxiety so never admit the palps scare you that much. my life is gone but please fight for yours xx 沈

I use to have a skipped beat every 3 beats. I rarely get them now since I changed my diet and started walking. I have not had AF for 2 years. I went on the Keto diet and after 3 months my ectopics had drastically dropped to about 1 every 2 minutes. I started walking also for 1 hour a day and also making sure I was getting enough sunlight for Vit D. Most people that get ectopics are put on medication that dampens their adrenaline response and they are called beta blockers. If you start walking you may find that your adrenaline is burned up during the day. I also had very low Vit D and I make sure I either spend some time in the sun or take a Vit D supplement. I know its hard but try going to a 10 minute walk and building up and also get some Vit D, you should notice a huge improvement.

I also have episodes where mine skips every third beat and will last for hours. It scares me so bad that I can't concentrate on anything else. I am l like doom and gloom. I just can't believe that this will not hurt me. My cardiologist tells me that it won't kill me and that something else will. I tell my husband they need to do other tests to see if there is a problem with my heart that causes it and he tells me to trust the cardiologist/electrophysiologist. I have been going to a cardiologist for years for it. Mine has gotten worse the last few years and I don't know why, maybe because I'm getting older (59), I don't know. I just feel like something has to be causing it. I'm sure my stressful and worrisome self doesn't help matters. I hate going to bed because sometimes I wake up during the night and it's on a roll of skipping every few beats. I wake up a lot and every time I do I'm thinking is it going to skip? It's on my mind all the time. Every morning when I get up, it's what I'm thinking about, it consumes me. I google about it and watch videos on it. It's miserable. I take a beta blocker, nadolol, but it doesn't stop them. They tried me on metoprolol and propranolol, but I had side effects from both of them, they made me have tremors and just felt bad, like an anxious feeling. It's skipping every so often as I'm typing this. I'm just so tired of it.

Hey ive had pretty bad ectopics along with some other symptoms for over half a year now - hate them but have had all doctors tell me 'they're nothing to worry about'. On propranolol at the moment but not sure its making any difference to be honest..

I have had palpitations for 30 + years. I normally have what I call the skipped beat, which will have the double beat before the skip, which is the extra beat. Mine have gotten worse as I have gotten older (59). Sometimes my "skipped beats" will last for hours on end and be every other beat, every third beat, and so on. It scares me to death. My cardiologist says that it will not kill me and that they cannot stop them. They say I have a normal rhythm. I went to the ER for the first time last night because I got scared because it would not stop. It lasted for about three hours, every three beats and seemed at time to beat extremely slow. Of course on the way it stopped. It only skipped a few times while I was there. They did and EKG, blood work, hooked up a monitor, and measured blood pressure. The doctor was not concerned at all. I try to relax and tell myself I will be okay, but I seem to get anxious and I know that makes it worse. I feel for all of you having this problem because I terrifies me. I don't know anyone else personally that has this problem.

I've been informed by a heart consultant that I've been having ectopic beats in the upper chambers, I also suffer from palpitations which according to him are related to anxiety.

Currently on Bisoprolol 2.5mg, flecainide twice daily 50mg and Amlodipine 5mg the latter for high blood pressure.

I have nights when the palpitations and or fluttering sensations stop me from relaxing therefore some nights I just don't get any sleep.
