Ejacualation Changes POST Prostate Artery Embolization

I am about 4 weeks post-PAE and my fellow Patient blogger is 6 weeks post PAE we are noticing changes in ejaculatory force and volume.  Specifically, these have diminished greatly from pre-PAE.  It almost feels like the smooth muscle part of the ejaculation has forgotten how to do it, or is not quite coordinated.  We are not experiencing retrograde ejaculation, but more of a weak force that ends up more like oozing than ejaculating.   We have Wonderful improvements in urine stream, emptying, etc, but surprised about this new change and hoping it is temporary.   We would love to hear from anyone else experiencing this and whether it will improve or not. Please feel free to get others who have had a PAE to discuss their experiences regarding post PAE ejachlation here .

    I'm 1.5 weeks out now. Good force but extremely watery. Presumably due to inflammation blocking my seminal vesicles Imo.

      Hi there

      Mine has no force and really watery very distressing still only 4 weeks post PAE so let's just hope it improves please keep me updated I find this a bit disappointing and depressing

    2  months after a turp  very small week arection and very  Little  Semen  and testicle pain

      I'm curious if you had a lot of pain after your procedure. Also did you have blood in your semen? I do still but it is becoming less so. I felt like I was p*ssing battery acid for days. 10 days later and it's very minor now but still there. My assumption is that i have a lot of inflammation and I was told that my vessels were small and it was hard to get in there. I've seen many reports of improved sexual function, but never any complaints. I'm very curious to hear what other people have to say as you have me worried.

      Yes I had terrible pain after the PAE there was burning and frequency ( wanting to pee but not going ) for at least 3 - 4 days afterwards this is normal apparently as the bladder is inflamed I was told by my specialist it calmed down though I am 4 weeks after my PAE and still occasionally get symptoms but never blood I'd contact my specialist if I were you about the blood issue .... I've been told things get better and better with time up to 18 months I'm distressed about this ejaculation issue though uffff time will tell

    Hey Chris, I am almost 6 months out from mine, and I definitely have the same problem.. I had some major issues with the beads used, and stilll have a lot of inflamattion, But I have noticed when I am taking the prednisone packs, my ejaculations go back to pre PAE. and possibly even better than before. So I am guessing the PAE procedure itself causes some inflamation,which may be causing the weak ejaculations. You might ask your doc for a dose pak, and see if it clears up even temporarily. There is another similar discussion on here, so there is a lot of guys having this problem after PAE.

      Not currently but i have taken it off and on during the last 6 months. My doc currently has me on CelebreX daily but it does not seem to help.

      I had an allergic reaction within an hour of the procedure, I had a really bad rash from my neck down. And numerous skin lesions opened up and the skin peeled off, like a really bad burn. I still have the lesions that will not heal.It is apparently rare but unfortunately they do not tell you the procedure is NON reversable.

      No that is what the doc thought initially, but since the inflammation continues he says any of that stuff would have long since left my system, and they only thing that can not leave my system are the beads. And the only way to get rid of them is to remove the prostate.

      And yes I had blood in my semen for over 3 weeks. 10 days seems to be about the usual for most guys tho

      After 2.5 weeks the blood is gone. Semen is super thick now, thicker than it was before the procedure, but as you said it now has no force behind it at all. Isaacson told me it should improve in time.
