Enlarged hip !

Hi again folks, I have a question, now 3 weeks post op. everthing going really well, staples out last Tuesday, ( great to be able to shower again) But I noticed today while drying after a shower that my op. hip really sticks out. Is this normal, ?. i look a bit lob sided. but it was still worth it !!.

    7 weeks today and thriving. I had waterproof bandage over incision. This in Ireland. On second day, nurse said he'd help me shower and inspect wound and if clear I was on my way home. Have had no showering restrictions since. Fairly freaked in week 2 when thigh swelling started to go down and operated hip protrusion stared me in the face. Looked as if I were a composite of 2 people! But has gone down and now almost no discrepancy.

    Sizing: you probably have too big a prosthesis. they make few sizes andhospitals probably don't keep them all in stock. it means that the underlying tissues will have had to be stretched andIstill have pain issues related to that. Ask which size you were given and how much choice there was. it is an ongoing scandal. See previous posts onthis subject. patients need to ask before the op exactly how their size cup and other components are assessed. they saw yourbones to accommodate the parts and not the other way round. they really need to be made to measure. Like I said, a scandal.
