How long is it before they contact you. Im due a esa payment tomorrow but dont know wether i will get one.
I told them my hubby is working for hiself as a man with a van he does 2 days a week and gets £50 per day for removing rubbish and house clearances.

Hi,
There really isn't a time scale. You sent off the letter only 10 days ago (8 working days) that's no time at all for DWP because it can take that long for a letter to arrive at the correct department. If you get your payment tomorrow and it's not less than usual i'd advice you to ring them. Your hubby working will affect your ESA quite a lot. You don't want to end up with an overpayment. Anything over £20 per week will afect your ESA £1 for £1.

Well i don't know what ESA you get weekly, i just know you'll lose about £80 per week if your hubby earns £100.

Ive told her that he has been putting his wages into a bank to prove what he gets and she said maybe dwp will accept that as proof but she doesnt know so ive got to wait for a call from them today or tomorrow.
If a bank statement a good enuf then theres nothing i can do and he will have to give it up.

I don't see why bank statements wouldn't do. it's money he's earning through working. Not everyone has an employer. Sometimes some of these people at DWP have no idea what they're doing or talking about lol.

Contribution Based (CB) would depend on whether you've working the past? If you haven't then you wouldn't be claiming any CB ESA at all, only Income related. When you get that payment in your bank tomorrow i strongly advice you don't spend all of it because it will more than likely become an over payment and you'll have to pay it back.

Ah yes i see. As you were originally claiming CB ESA this means you'll always be claiming this because you can't just change to Income Related. You can get a top up of Income Related. Did you say you were in the Support Group? If you were then the Enhanced Disability Premium which for couples is £22.85 per week would stop. The Contribution based ESA would continue because other Income doesn't affect this. In my calculations your weekly ESA amount should now be what ever you were getting before - £22.85 per week.

No you won't be. You hubby working won't affect your Contribution based ESA at all. The only thing that you'll lose is that Income related top i told you about in my above post. You'll be better off by about £78 per week

I don't know either lolol. I just did my research. That and i just love helping others! You're very welcome dawn. I just wish i'd known you were claiming that CB ESA to begin with lol I just didn't think to ask. Glad we got it sorted and i hope DWP do soon too! xx
