Esmya side effects

hi. I am 39 and recently had a hysteroscopy to remove a fibroid that was causing heavy bleeding and blood clots. I have other smaller fibroids (17mm) which were not removed but I took a 3 month esmya course which gave me all sorts of side effects like tiredness, body ache and vaginal discharge. There is such little information available on esmya and I want to know what are the side effects once you stop esmya. It's been 11 days since my course ended and while my period hasn't returned today I had vaginal l discharge which was bloody. Is this normal? Any experience anyone can share? Thank you!!

Hi Shivani, I have been taking Esmya for 10 days and I since taking it I have passed heavy clots and still flooding..... when really my period finishes after 6 days. I am not happy with it. I will persevere for a few more days but if this continues then I can't work or do my day to day activities. So I will ask for it to be stopped. Hope this helps. x

      Hi Misty

I did not have such severe side effects thankfully. And a scan has revealed that Esmya did shrink my fibriods. Pre-Esmya the smallest was 17mm and post the largest is 12mm. Speak to your doc before you discontinue.

      Wish you well.

    Hi everyone!

I'm 29 years old and have been taking esmya for three weeks now. So far I haven't had many side effects. I felt really tired the first two weeks and a bit dizzy in the mornings, but now I feel almost normal.

I'm taking this medicine because I hope I can get kids when the fibroids shrink. In two weeks I have an appointment with a new doctor because the last one didn't explain me much of my condition or in which extent do my fibroids could cause infertility. I hope the new doctor takes more time to explain me what I need to know.
