Hello I'm 44 and have recently been diagnosed with a 11cm Fibroid, my Gyno has put me on Esmya to try and shrink the fibroid, I just wondered if any one could me advice or their review as its fairly new treatment and can't find anyone who has tried it.
Thank you

I'm really interested too in the diet you followed and the supplements you've taken too.
I took Esmya for 3 months which although it didn't shrink my rather large fibroid it didn't grow any more whilst I was on it.
Since I stopped taking it just 1 month ago it feels like it's doubled in size, the top of it is now about 2 inches above my belly button, I now look 6 months pregnant!!!
I'm going back to see my consultant in 4 weeks to talk through options, it feels like surgery is the only option but because I suffer from blood clots this comes with a significant risk so I'm keen to explore every avenue.

Take care with the supplements. I used liquorice for a while but my BP shot up because of it....so care with the supplements.

See the chart ( scroll down the link)
I used apple cider vinegar ( very cheap) and lots and lots of strong lemon water. So refreshing and cleansing and very bad for the fibroid lol

I have completed my 3 month course of Esmya and also had a mirena coil fitted at the beginning of my second month after a hysteroscopy showed 3 further fibroids in my uterus muscle which they could not previously see due to the size of the sub mucous fibroids which they operated on.
I am still symptomatic, extreme pain, heavy periods, exhaustion, zero sex drive as I bleed or have discharge pretty much constantly. I am one of the unlucky ones for whom Esmya just simply wasn't compatible and didn't work unfortunately.
I am now on the waitin list for a full hysterectomy, including my ovaries, and I am hoping that this will see a return to normality for me afterwards.
I wish all of you all the luck in the world and an end to the suffering we all experience due to the curse of fibroids x

I seriously considering that diet Lita! I had a hysteroscopy myoma resection yesterday and on my previous
hysteroscopy 6 weeks ago I had one myoma removed and another partly removed. I also had a few small polyps. The myomas where 15 x 10 and 4x7.
I took esyma for 4 weeks and it didn't reduce the myoma but did help with my bleeding. I had a few side affects, hot flushes, headaches, mood swings, back pain but Rather suffer with the symptoms than the bleeding and being household bound.
I am supposed to be taking esyma for another two months, just in case the dr has missed any myomas. But I'm really interested in the diet.
I also live in Sweden!
Good luck to you all ♡

Sorry about the delay in my answer...I'm overwhelmed by all your response and firstly I want to confirm what some of you said as an inital response - all bodies are different and no method is universal. This is something that worked for me and I simply wanted to share in case some one didn't know of the option. Diet and excercise is atleast not going to hurt you in the long run, that much I can promise
Many have asked me here and in dms what the diet I talk about consists of. That I can talk about since it starts out from what the fibroids like and do not like. But if we start with the supplements, it's a trickier question since it starts out from your bodies and their imbalances. A general direction though is to see to that you have a happy bowel system (msn and probiotics may help ) for maximum immune support (the diet will also fight possible candida albicans) and take something to rinse your kidneys and liver to more easily rinse out excess estrogens and toxins. Omega 3 is also recommended. Other than this everyone needs to go see someone for an analysis on what your bodies specific needs and imbalances.
When it comes to the diet I declared war against my fibroids with hard diet the first three months and then eased up on it a little bit to find a balance which I'm now keeping since it makes me feel great. Basically it's a cleansing diet where you also take out specific foods that contain a lot of estrogens, such as soy products and flax seeds ( OBS! Make sure you don't buy omega 3 flax seed oil but fish oil). Also there's a lot of estrogens in the food we give the animals we eat (unless organic and controlled) so meats should be avoided and since pesticides contain a lot of estrogens make sure you always buy organic veggies. These estrogen filled items aside you should avoid certain things to help your body clean itself and thereby gain strength. I excluded all sugar (and things that turn into sugar in your body = non vegetable carbs), fruits, dairy, almost all fat (unless you're underweight), coffee, black tea, alcohol, yeast based products, so basicall everything fun!
It's almost easier to talk about what I did eat... Green veggies, the greener the better, and as raw as possible, spinach, green cabbage, broccoli, rocket etc. I huge plate of raw food + been or lentils per day and one plate of protein with side sallad per day, in my case primarily fatty fish (fresh, not frozen). Eggs are ok. I went wild amongst the veggies and made it a sport to come up with and find yummie recipes. There are loads!
I know this sound horribly boring but when you faint from pain from this alien growing in your stomach I made this my personal war and apparently it worked. And the funny thing is it wasn't hard, the food was delicious and I was never hungry. And I worked full time during this adventure so it wasn't like I had all day to prepare food.. I'm not sure if this was the answer you were looking for, if I missed anything feel free to ask or consult our friend google.
Now to my question: When you talk about bleeding whilst taking esmya, do you mean you bleed FROM esmya or that esmya hasn't stopped the bleeding you had before? Did anyone understand that question?

Apologies lita73 - I was having a rough few days. I'm pleased the diet worked for you and for others. I was just saying its a bit like medication and not work for everyone but sounds like you've done a great job and reduced the stress in your life too! It sounds like you won the war with your alien fibroids
lita 73 - your question as to whether the esmya caused the bleeding or not stop the bleeding? In my case th esmya dramatically increased the bleeding and clots (my gynae said this would happen whilst my body is ditching the hormones, however I know this hasnt happended to everyone) for approximately 2 weeks before it stopped for a couple of weeks and now I'm heavily spotting. Not sure what to expect next, continuous spotting, heavy bleeding or nothing?!

Im 32. I live in Canada. I just started Fibristal (Esmya) - today is day 15. I have had a headache now for 15 days. A few bouts of acne, which is not something I DO NOT normally experience while on my period.
I have had spotting for 15 days now. Sometimes its red, dark red, light red, brown, thick, thin. I am hoping that my fibroids will shrink - I have 3; all subserosal, all outside of the uterus. I don't have children, but I would like to have them one day.
I am really hoping that Fribristal will shink my Fibroids and alleviate my symptoms. However, what I am reading I don't see any good responses to Fibristal (Esmya)
Does anyone have a good story to share?
I would love to hear from you!
THanks.
