Hello I'm 44 and have recently been diagnosed with a 11cm Fibroid, my Gyno has put me on Esmya to try and shrink the fibroid, I just wondered if any one could me advice or their review as its fairly new treatment and can't find anyone who has tried it.
Thank you

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can repeat Esmya? I.e. having been on for say 3 months, can a patient then take it again like a year later if the fibroids grow?
Also second question please, has anyone tried changing their diet to stop fibroids growing? Did it work? If yes can you share details?
Thank you

ANd missy, danni, thanks for that question and the info. about the trial! Me too, i am almost done my third month and i was wondering what next. I think I am having the same results (i'll know for sure in january) judging from my belly...some shrinkage but not major. I would like to do another course, hopefully i am allowed.
Dani, do you happen to know the name or # of the study? I'd like to read about it.

I have just finished 3 months and been back to the hospital, the consultant advised me that the licence for esmya is currently being reviewed. At the moment they are only able to officially issue the tablets for a 3 month period.
She has asked me to take a break for another month, have a withdrawal bleed, and then start my 4th month on the 1st day of my next bleed. She said that there will be a build up in my womb, so that's also why she wants me to take a break, am expecting a very heavy period.
I have suffered with vertigo, my hair breaks and snaps easily and had horrific pains at the side of my breast, so have to wear a bra 24 hours a day, and have also been advised to take evening primrose oil as they are good for chest pain.
I have also had random stabbing pains in my stomach, but am just getting on with life best I can.
You may ask is it all worth it? My tumour has reduced by 30% in the first 7 weeks of taking the tablets, so am hoping that they are continuing to work.

Diet should pay attention:
1, fasting longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, royal jelly and other hot, coagulation and hormone-containing ingredients.
2, eat chili, Ma pepper, raw onions, raw garlic, white wine, spicy food and beverages.
3, the diet should be light, do not eat lamb, shrimp, crab, eel, fish, blackfish and other developed properties.
4, eat more lean meat, chicken, eggs, quail eggs, fish, turtle, white fish, cabbage, asparagus, celery, spinach, cucumber, melon, mushrooms, tofu, kelp, seaweed, and fruit.
Women should eat more seaweed food

I was gonna answer to Sporty Chicas last post. But a lot came in between
Where in the world do u live? I live in Sweden.
And the method that I'm most interested in right now, is High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound that can be used on fibroids. Checked it out? Google and YouTube it. Some really interesting medical discussion online. My doctors have never brought it up... I found it on my own, and I'm not even sure if it is performed in Sweden yet... But it is in the US. A lot it seems.
It doesn't work for everyone, if you have multiple abdominal scars that make it difficult to find a safe path between the transducer and the fibroid or that you have many fibroids or very large fibroids or You want to optimize your chance of a future pregnancy. A number of women have had successful pregnancies after treatment. However, long-term effects on a woman's ability to become pregnant and carry a baby to term have not been studied adequately yet. But it’s a noninvasive method and its quick.
My biggest one is around 10 cm. It's in the back of my uterus as a part of it. Intramural I believe it is. My doctor has never really been as detailed or thorough in this review. I have ascertained this by myself. I also have 5 smaller ones in the front of my uterus around 3-6 cm.
And also, an addendum to another post above about food.
Soya products as tofu is definitely something that should be avoided. So is chicken. At least the type of chicken that we have today. They are stuffed with hormones and should be avoided.

I really want to try this method, but so far I haven't found anyone that does this in Sweden... May have to go abroad...
