I hated it. Firstly was given the ones that are like a glycerine suppository called pessaries. YUK! Then the cream. One applicator per tube and a whole tube full to go up there. Messy afterwards. As in next day. Then you gotta wash the applicator. So after asking heaps on here I discovered that there is Vagifem 10 micrograms Estradiol. SO much better. One little tablet already in end of a very neat individual use applicator. They are 2x wkly after 1 each day for 2wks. Hard to get here in NZ but I think readily available on prescription in UK, so probably USA too. I had to pay $118 NZD for 24 of them. That's 3mths worth as I won't do the daily for 2wks thing. As it's already 11mths since my anterior repair. The pessaries are greasy, slippery and horrible. No applicator. The cream is mukky and a whole applicator full goes up there. The Vagifem tablet is easy and not noticeable up there. Each applicator individually packed for single use. My pharmacist had to do a lot of ringing around to discover them for me. At least I already knew off this forum what to tell her to go find. I'm rapt to have them. Hopefully they will still work some magic up inside.

My cream was Ovestin and 1mg per 1g of cream. The long applicator had to be full. A gram of it. Yours must be very concentrated. Do you put it in in an applicator? My instructions in the pack has you attach applicator to tube and squeeze tube until applicator full of cream.

I don't know how to make a new post on this site but wonder if anyone can offer advice please? I have just had 8 days ago an anterior cystocele repair. I'm 69 yes old. Had hysterectomy and removal of ovaries aged 36. My surgeon initially told me to carry on using Ovestin cream for life. She had now told me to stop and start doing 60 pelvic floor exercises a day as I said I could still feel a bulge. I know it's very early days but she said the op was challenging. I just hope it works. Any advice on the cream or anything else most welcome. Thank you.

You certainly wouldn't want to be poking any sort of applicator up there for probably 6-8wks post-op as you've got stitches up there and could penetrate the suture line. Are you having a post-op check around 6wks? They can give you the all-clear then to start it again if it all looks healed internally.

The bulge you are still feeling is most likely swelling. You've had major surgery in there.

I was given some to try recently, but it didn't seem to stay put so my GP said to stop taking it.  I guess it was me and not the cream. I waiting to hear if I can take something else in its place.
