Etizolam similar to Zopiclne?

Posted , 16 users are following.

So I'm looking for an alternative to Zopiclone and I have come across Etizalam. It's apparently used for insomnia in India and Japan and has been for years. It is not a controlled drug in the UK and easy to get hold. Has anyone heard of it? Tried it? Would love to here your thought as I'm tempted to try it.

hmm. "Etizolam is a drug of potential abuse." according to Wikipedia. So out of the frying pan and into the fire?

That's the thing. I'm not sure how to handle it hence why I have been researching it for a lil while now. It's not something the Doctors in the UK prescribe. However they have been using it forever in India and Japan. I've spoken to people who have used it any they love it. It comes in 0.5mg or 1mg sizes, I'm some cases even 2mg and apparently 1mg is the equivalent of 10mg Valium. I may ask my GP about this on Tuesday when I see him and see what he says. Probably will completely disregard it. As far as the abuse thing goes I think that applies to pretty much everything. I think if you treat all with respect then you should be okay. As I say I am tempted and a lot of people say it's the second best thing to Zopi. I have come across many brands but I think the Intas Etilaam looks by far the most trustworthy and it's a generic so I'm going to give it a shot if my GP doesn't give me Zopiclone.

"I may ask my GP about this on Tuesday when I see him"

If your GP is anything like mine he will never have heard of it.  I wouldn't say too much on here about it as it'll be the next thing to be banned. Keep to PMs. I could tell you a source but the mods would shoot me! And quite rightly too, you are messing with fire here.

Hey. Everyone is having a great discussion on here about it. Hope you find it helpful.

Here is a link about Etizolam you might find useful:

Be kind to yourself and give yourself credit for coming through so much if you have difficulty sleeping. It is a fragile time if you are so take good care of yourself and treat yourself with some nice things like a favourite meal or something and listen to your favourite CD.

I suggest that you restrict any info on where to get them to private messages (PM's) and stuff like dosage and effects. They are not licensed in the UK for pharmaceutical use, but:

      - they have the same withdrawal symptoms as the benzo drugs

      - you have no guarantee that what you buy is the real thing

      - UK legislation will kick in once it finds out there is a market for them

      - their half life is very short so kicking them will be even harder

As I said, out of the frying pan into the fire...

I am sorry you feel that way Kevin. I showed my posts to my mother who has her Masters degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and she thought they were perfect. I am glad you told Sonul through the post to me about the medication in the UK. I hope he does live in the UK so the same points apply. I am now leaving this website as I felt your comment was quite harsh and judgemental and I felt really upset.

I think CBT specialists would have you change your belief patterns if you take Keith's post too personally, Jennifer.

I found it very interesting to hear of its existence and its reverse tolerance properties. Maybe the UK authority should think about licensing the drug and not take too long about it! Is Zaleplon harder to kick than Zopiclone?

My doctor doesn't think I need CBT specialists. I am leaving this website now for sure after weeks and weeks of helping people and trying to help people through putting posts on the website and people saying it is helpful and my mother saying it was perfect.

Actually I meant to reply to the forum and Bren in particular, not you, sorry.

Like I said, Etizolam is not licensed in the UK for pharma use. In case you don't understand, that means it does not come in fancy packaging with a health warning and what the effect/side effects may be, what the dose should be, and you have no guarantee of its purity, and it cannot be prescribed by any doctor. You take it at your own risk.

BTW my name's not Kevin wink
